BEST Air Cam Walking Boot!
I absolutely love this boot! It is so well-constructed and easy to strap on and off. The boot is cushioned inside, not only providing comfort but a feeling of security as it surrounds the foot and calf. The built-in air pump gives support as it tightens and loosens as needed. It is very sturdy and has been a blessing on rainy days when slip-resistance is needed. I’ve tried 2 other boots and neither of them can hold a candle to this one. Well done!

Has been good protection, comfortable, a good support
After a recent incident where I ended up rolling my ankle into a midlevel sprain I needed a boot. My wife found this United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot and - thanks to Amazon’s overnight Prime option - we bought it and had it here the next day. After almost three weeks I can say this United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot has been a great asset for me, helping protect and give a place to heal my foot, while allowing me to also safely walk as soon as I was able to be up on it. The United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot is mostly well designed with good materials and has stayed strong throughout. I will say, due to my injuries I have been unable to put the United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot on by myself throughout. My wife has had to do it. From my standpoint, it would be a little hard at times - on and off can be a bit painful, but as we got used to it, less issues happened each time. We also learned a few “short cuts” such as having the inner boot inside the outer boot and me setting my foot into the whole unit - rather than putting it into the inner boot and setting both into the outer boot - saving me pain from the narrow opening. The pushbutton air filling mechanism is in an... okay spot. I again could not do it myself until recently, but even for my wife it meant a kind of “bending” to reach it for her. And it requires a pretty solid, hefty pumping motion in order to get the air in. You’ll work for it. But with each pump I could feel the air entering and could talk her through what and how much I needed. So from that standpoint, it worked well. And the mechanism works outstandingly well when emptying, Over the three weeks I only - somehow we still can’t figure out - accidents released the air once. The inside feels good and comfortable, but equally supportive even without the air. But that air felt so much better once in. I never felt weakness nor discomfort when wearing or walking. I never wore a sock in there, and mostly remained cool and comfortable, but maybe twice I did get a bit hot. Nothing slipping off the outer boot didn’t help. Even the inner boot was comfortable alone and while it didn’t give them the same level of support, it reminded me to watch out for my ankle and kept it from giving way - I never walked with it alone. The United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot included two cushioned pads you can set inside, securing with velcro, in order to provide more cushion and aide in proper fit. We used these every time and they worked well. I do wish they’d include a second set as these two - while still being good and can be used in the future - do take a bit of a beating. It would be nice to have that second set as a back up. In the end I’m still using this United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot for another few days to week, and from the first time we slipped it on, my wife and I are both happy with how well it worked. It has helped me through and I am grateful for it. Any “cons” are so weak they would not keep me from using this now again, or getting another just like it (hoping I never need to, that is).

Exceptional Quality That Truly Exceeds
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but this product absolutely deserves recognition. From the moment I received it, the quality and attention to detail were immediately apparent. Every aspect—from the design and functionality to the overall performance—reflects a level of craftsmanship that goes well above and beyond what you typically find. What impressed me most is how thoughtfully everything seems to be put together. It not only performs exactly as advertised, but it does so with a level of reliability and ease that makes using it genuinely enjoyable. It’s clear that a lot of care went into creating something that isn’t just good, but truly exceptional. Products that deliver on their promises are great, but products that surpass them are rare. This is one of those rare finds. I would confidently recommend it to anyone looking for something dependable, high-quality, and built to impress.

Just what the doctor ordered
This boot is as good as, if not better than, the knee-high boot I got from the podiatrist for my last ankle sprain, which was my left ankle. This time it’s my right, and I didn’t want to lug that one around again, plus it put too much pressure on the inside on my ankle bone. I think I had it pumped up and couldn’t deflate. But in any event, I wanted a short boot. Ordered this last night and it was outside this morning at 7. Thank you Amazon! The boot is well-made, the only thing I would improve is true of all these types of boots, you need three hands to put it on easily, which I don’t have. I manage it by sitting, setting it flat on the floor, prying open the flaps and carefully sliding my foot in backwards. The liner has foot wrap flaps with Velcro and calf wrap with Velcro, plus a small attached ankle pad that can get tucked and twisted so you have to start over. Took me three times to get it on properly. The Velcro is super strong on the flaps and the straps. There are additional small comfort pads provided but I didn’t use them. I wear a 10.5 women’s shoe and my calves are plus-size. The large is perfect and is about an inch longer than my foot and no problem fitting around my calf. This boot cost about 75% less than the one from the doctor and is just as good. There is a little instruction sheet that says to turn the knob to “deflate” before you put it on and I haven’t tried to inflate it but not sure I will need to. The boot is providing stability all the time, whether walking or in the recliner. Pain meter has already gone way down and I put this thing on less than an hour ago.

Great and comfortable boot.
This boot is great. I fractured my left ankle and metarsal 2 weeks ago and this gives me support and is comfortable. They even have separate small foam rubber pads you can stick in places that rub. Best of all, I can get out and even drive since my right foot is fine.

A good value if you need to keep your foot and ankle relatively immobilized
I hurt my foot and wanted to keep it as supported as possible to aid in healing, so I bought one of these boots. At first it was a little awkward to get it on, but once you get the routine down, it only takes a couple of minutes. I think the only downside is I wish the additional small pads they provided with the boot had velcro on one side so they could be affixed within the boot. I previously broke my left leg with a double compound fracture, and the scar tissue is right on my shin where the top of the boot presses against my skin while walking. The pads help, but I've found they can slip out while walking without knowing it. Thankfully I've not lost one yet. Once I put this on, I immediately was reminded of spending a year in a cast and boot when I was a lot younger due to my previously mentioned leg injury. However, it has helped with the pain and I can tell a marked difference in how my foot feels without the boot on after only a week. Some days it seems a bit more comfortable than others, and I attribute that to either getting one or more of the straps too tight, or over inflating the boot. With that said, for the money, this is a heck of a value. It doesn't feel cheap and is holding up well, and doing the job it was intended to do.

Quality that didn’t hold up
This was the second same ortho air boot I purchased on Amazon. First one I promptly ordered because I knew before going to ortho doc, through previous medical clinic experience, I had a metatarsal fracture and that insurance coverage would take days, this boot would be good for healing and mobility, doc agreed. However within a week both boots failed to hold air and became heavy and cumbersome. Good quality overall except for that. I ended up using a less expensive boot from Amazon that held up to get me over my recovery finish line. Note Amazon did full refund on boots.

It's A Miracle!!
No, just good design. I had a severe sprain and ankle break, followed by surgery 4 weeks ago. The plaster splint was comfortable, but the very expensive boot they gave me was so painful that I wound up taking most of it apart before I could get replacement cushioning in it. The heel was far too tight and the straps rubbed my newly-healing incision. The boot hurt much more than the surgery! I finally said , "Enough is Enough!!!" and started looking for something else so I could sleep at night. I just slipped right into this and it feels like a cloud surrounding my ankle. I've got at least another 2-3 weeks of this, so I'm incredibly grateful that rolling the dice actually worked. I like that the inflation pump is relatively soft and sits towards the front of the boot instead of being super hard and jutting out directly into my right knee. I also appreciate the extra foam pads that are included with this boot. It's also soft on the back, so that when elevating the foot, it doesn't affect my knee, making it ache from the uncomfortable position. Wow! I don't know how I lasted so long! In reading more specs, this boot is clearly wider, and its straps accommodate my very high arch without any tightness. The ankle area is nicely padded. I'm sure if I had flat feet (no judgement) and my calves were attached further up my lower leg bones, the other model would've fit much better. I'll be letting my surgeon and the other manufacturer know all the other problems I had with that boot, and that they need to offer more options since few patients have the exact same leg dimensions and ratios. I think it must have been designed for a teen-aged boy's frame. Truly looking forward to a comfortable, pain-free evening... ...An additional note, the buckles on the boot are directly molded into the sides and stick straight up. They are not attached with rivets & sharp-edged velcro, they aren't loose and don't sit on top of the leg & ankle. This was another source of pain for me in the other boot's design, I couldn't get enough padding under the buckles to stop them from rubbing and digging into the top & side of my ankle; right where my incisions were. The loose buckles would provide more leverage to tighten the boot, but in my case I didn't need the extra pressure. If you look at the photos of the boot you can better see what I'm referring to.

Not great
Pressure points on the heel, very loose support and didn't have a heel lift option. Not great for an Achilles rupture repair cycle.
