Simple to use.
The jig clamped securely to the door and made matching the holes a snap. The metal inserts make it feel more sturdy also. The hole saws were of good quality although having used them once I cannot speak to durability. I had to widen the hole for the knob as there was already a knob but no deadbolt on this door. The old hardware was smaller than new stuff so I had to solve that issue and using the smaller hole saw to line up the jig worked great. I was afraid that it would not work as well since I wouldn’t see the pilot hole and just had to go all the way through from one side. The saw and jig did great and I didn’t have a jagged exit on the other side. FWIW it was a wooden door. The only difficulty, and this is not unusual of this kind of hole saw, is that getting them off the adapter is tough. I hit the thing with penetrating oil and it helped but the adapter for larger one is pretty stuck. Fortunately that doesn’t keep you from getting the smaller one on the pilot drill and the smaller one is easier to remove. If you need to install door hardware, this kit is well worth it.

Works as advertised. Hole saw bits a little underwhelming.
This was a great jig that got the work done. I chose this Milescraft model over Ryobi or Irwin because this one has a metal circle around the area you drill. It seems durable and was easy to use as long as you triple check your measurements. Also follow instructions to drill from the opposite side after the lead bit barely comes through.Only complaint was the hole saw bits were not superb, but they did the job on the one door I needed. I'm confident they can do many more doors, but as someone familiar with drill bits, I was not impressed by their quality.

The threaded bushing hole saw adapter for the arbor is defective in the kit that I received
I bought this fixture to help move the lockset hole in an existing door using a wooden plug so that I could drill a new hole with a 2-3/4" setback to replace the original 2-3/8" setback to gain extra clearance. Generally, it looks well designed, especially with the metal guide inserts, which is why I chose this kit. Unfortunately, one part is defective, and I need to replace it to get everything to work properly. The supplied "Hole Saw Adapter" call# 8 in the IPB is defective in manufacture with opposing surfaces not parallel, nearly .012" out of true across its diameter, and causes severe runout when used to mount the large 2-1/8" hole saw on the arbor. See attached photos showing thickness measurements on opposite sides of the adapter. My MP4 videos would not upload. I have ordered a replacement adapter from a different supplier. I think Milescraft got a bad batch of parts.

Great tool and very well made
After decades of use my Knickset lock install kit wore out I wanted to replace it with a more compact unit and not plastic, most of the choices were either plastic or very expensive, since I don’t hang that many doors now I decided to go with this one and was not disappointed, it’s very well made easy to use even if you don’t hang a lot of doors.I was pleasantly surprised it seems to be a reasonable priced tool that should last a long time and the cost point was very good , if your looking for a door lock installation kit you won’t be dissatisfied, I work very well

Excellent tool
If you install door hardware this is a good one to use. Works better than others and set up is fast cleaner cuts.

Not so great
This design looks good on paper but doesn't clamp down on the door firm enough to keep it from moving significantly once you start drilling unfortunately the time between when I bought it and eventually tried to used it make returning it not an option. I ended up doing the rest of the the doors without the Milescraft jig. I felt more in control and they turned of better than the door I did using this tool.

One tool does it all
This is the door knob installation One tool that does it all For either sized thickness of the door and it has the ability to cut the shank out of the center and then attach the wire and the other one is just a small hole

Misses the mark (literally)
This jig leaves far too much power in the hands of the user-error gods.I’ve used the Milescraft mortising kit for several years and have always disliked the lack of alignment precision. I fixed that with some slight modifications to the removable plastic templates. For multiple doors, I have used the Milescraft jig with a flush trim bit to make a longer jig board which provides a precise, repeatable template for all three hinges on the jamb and door plus strike plate, left or right handed. This LockMate PLUS has a similar flaw in that there isn’t a good way to precisely and repeatedly hit your vertical alignment mark. You either sight it through the big 2-1/8” hole or the tiny hole to the right of that. At first I thought the tiny hole *was* for alignment…NOPE! It’s for assembly of the clamp screw. As soon as you add the red 2-3/8” spacer, the tiny hole is covered and can’t be used for alignment. Sure I can drill a hole through the spacer but…why didn’t Milescraft?? A diamond or triangular hole - visible through the jig body AND the spacer - would facilitate fast, repeatable vertical alignment. With the number of slabs I have to install, I need to make a vertical alignment jig.Cumulatively, it’ll still save me time but it’s frustrating to invest more time making an alignment jig for this jig, like the manufacturer and design team never actually used the product in the field on more than one door. Watch the product video - they really gloss over the “align the LockMate with your mark” part. And forget about making a reference line on the top or bottom of the jig because it was clearly CAD’d in metric units, so you’d have to add or subtract 42.5mm from your bore centerline. The materials are good, particularly the metal bearings, and the plastic seems sturdy with strong reinforcement ribs. Five stars for these, one star for accuracy and repeatability.

Great quality tool
I have used this a few times now and this door lock jig works well, the clamping is tight, no sliding on the door face and the metal inserts will make this jig last longer than other jigs that are only plastic.

EXCELENTE PLANTILLA

Well made, sturdy, and a clever design
Absolutely top notch. I bought an older home with backsets that were short, and holes that were too small... as there was already a hole there and I just needed to nudge it over and enlarge it, this method was the only way. I looked at the cheaper plastic versions but as I had so many doors to do, I wanted something that would last. Well, I'm SO GLAD I chose this one. It's well made, it's adjustable, it's sturdy, and the clamping mechanism is built in and simple to use. The hole saws provided with it, and the arbor, are well made and show no signs of giving up, even after 14 doors. I was having a laugh while using it because I was talking to myself and thought 'You should be recording a commercial for this thing right now' Very impressed.

Muy buena compra.
Es fácil de usar y de manipular. Solo vean un tutorial de uso y eso es todo.

Would recommend.
Very helpful, doesn’t slip. Hole saws are fairly decent as well. I built 15 interior doors for my place. Did them all with this, saws are dull now but still a good investment.
