For six grand you think the picture quality would be better. Matterport insists on keeping a hold of the images so you can't edit them, not sure what they do for post-processing but it doesn't seem like much of anything. You think we're such a expensive camera the quality would be better

The camera system is great. This is the third Pro 3 setup that I have bought. This one came without a tripod. The great and wonderful amazon shipped it from their facility. So instead of sending me a tripod, which is small when collapsed, they want me to send the giant package back and wait two more weeks for the system.

I have ordered 3 of these cameras but the last one came with a completely useless case that doesn't hold ALL of the accessories like the original one did. The photos of the kit do NOT match what you will get. Do not order as Amazon will not do anything to help except tell you to return it and re-order. Picture is of the case they now supply. Both the pictures on Amazon and the Matterport website do not picture this case as the one being provided. Need to go back to what was being delivered previously.

Scan quality is very low compared to other scanners on the market. They just specialize in marketing to people who don't know about scanning and don't know the quality of the scan is very poor. Scanner doesn't even preform up to its own specifications. I know this because I do own professional grade scanners. Then there is a subscription fee and then another fee to download the information.

After investing $7,995 plus tax in Matterport's Acceleration Kit, I experienced complete system failure due to their defective wheel dolly hardware (missing screw and the wheels keep going loose from the first use) that caused the scanner and the tripod to topple and damaged the camera the second time I used it. Their response was even worse: - Refused legitimate warranty claim - Demanded $1,800 to repair their manufacturing defect - Provided barely intelligible customer support due to heavily accented, scripted representatives - This company clearly prioritizes profit over customers. For a supposedly professional system, they deliver: - Substandard hardware quality control. - Unacceptable language barriers in support. - Predatory repair policies. My $8,000 "investment" failed in two uses. Professional users deserve better - Matterport is an expensive mistake.

The pro3 is fast, super accurate, and handles outdoor scans like a champ. Something you wouldn't be able to get with older cameras or phone setups. The extra batteries and backpack make it easy to stay mobile throughout the day, and the quality of the scans instantly makes my work look more professional. Expensive? Yeah. Worth it? Absolutely.
