The only official workbook from Dr. Richard C. Schwartz, founder of Internal Family Systems, to meet, understand, and heal the parts of yourself The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model teaches that each of us is not a single personality. Rather, we carry in us a “family” of distinct inner parts that hold our many hurts and conflicts―and that we can heal in order to live with more confidence, courage, and connection. With The Internal Family Systems Workbook , Dr. Schwartz presents an invaluable tool to help you learn about IFS and apply it to your own life―on your own time and at your own pace. Opening with a beginner-friendly overview of IFS, the workbook offers more than 50 practices, exercises, and meditations to help you: • Understand the parts that make up your system, including Manager parts that want to keep you out of uncomfortable situations and Firefighter parts that react to painful emotions and events • Extend compassion to each part as you begin to understand how they’re trying to support you • Learn strategies to stay calm and navigate anxiety when your parts are activated, allowing you to face challenging situations with courage • Explore ways to heal past wounds and trauma • Uncover your core Self that is the source of your deepest wisdom Throughout the workbook, you’ll find a variety of exercises to support different learning styles, as well as QR codes for guided audio meditations read by Dr. Schwartz to further bolster your journey. IFS has proven to be a revolutionary tool for stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, burnout, addiction, disordered eating, relationships, and more. As Dr. Schwartz writes, “IFS changes lives. Now it is your turn to experience this transformative tool for yourself. You and all your parts are welcome here.” Review: Easy to understand book to use IFS techniques - Great book with easy to follow prompts and audio recordings you can scan in the book. Breaks down the techniques in The IFS book to an easy to understand level. I find the print to be slightly light but not a problem for me Review: Buy it - Can't say enough about this book. Wonderful working book if you have interest in inner child work, John Bradshaw, IFS, etc. Really helpful and easy to understand.

Great IFS exercises
This work book is a great tool if you're endeavoring internal family systems work. The exercises are great. If you are unfamiliar with IFS, this won't provide a while lot of information but the exercises can still help. I recommend listening to the author speak, or reading his other books along with doing the workbook, or better yet working with a professional trained to help you navigate internal family systems.

Organized workbook perfect for healing yourself
A wonderful workbook for practitioners of IFS, suitable for newbies and experts alike. I have been doing IFS therapy both on my own and through coaches for years. I can't believe I hadn't bought this until now! I love the exercises in the book and how interactive it is. Usually, the written exercises will stimulate a part or memory and I can contemplate and meditate from there into parts work and deeper reflection. Book is comprehensive, doesn't overload you with details but explains enough to know how to do the exercises and leaves lines for your written responses. You could certainly use drawn responses as well if you are visual. A great purchase and a great dive into the special, healing world of IFS therapy. Heal on!

Great resource for doing IFS on our own, with guided meditations by Richard Schwartz
Written by the founder of IFS (Richard Schwartz) to help us be able to do IFS healing practices on our own. Includes a link to recordings on Sounds True, to lead you through the practices. I am trained in IFS, but there are times when I need a bit more guidance and to hear a voice leading me through a practice. Highly Recommended! I love being led through a practice and safely connect with my parts that need attention.

Great workbook, paper ok
Great workbook that follows the book. I agree the paper is a little thin and not ideal, but not as bad as I was expecting based on the reviews.

Fantastic
I’m loving this workbook and the mediations that go with it. I recommend reading the short book “Introduction to Internal Family Systems” to get an idea before starting it. I find IFS to be the most helpful therapy that I’ve tried so far.

You Will Become Confused With Lies, & Possibly Decompensate. 'Parts' Do Not Exist.
The concept of a true 'Self' consisting of 8 qualities has a narcotic-like effect on people who undergo 'Parts' therapies. It feels good, but just like the idea that we all have 'multiple personalities', it is not based in reality. Internal Family Systems Therapy likely relies upon the products of human imagination. However, the 'Parts' that it discusses are not actually real. Unfortunately, a certain level of self-gaslighting is required in order to develop a belief that you are 'benefiting' from IFS. Not to be recommended for patients who are unstable or psychotic.
