Cocktail Smoker Wood Chips

Bought these for my husband and he loves them for smoking cocktails.

We have only smoked one flavor the cherry and so far and the quality of the smoke and scent was spot on.

Nice addition to a bar setup. I needed to use a torch to get the desired amount of smoke going. I also used some other larger wood chips mixed with these and it's great.

I have a minor collection of smoker chips and devices by a handful of different brands and have settled on a few favorites over the last year of experimenting.Experience has taught me that chips that offer little to no aroma rarely produce a good result, so when I opened these tins and found that their scents weren’t particularly noticeable, I was concerned.Fortunately, the Smoky Craft Wood Chips don’t follow the “lack of aroma, lack of flavor” disappointments I’ve experienced in the past. I made two Old Fashioned cocktails, one with the apple wood chips and one with the walnut (the apple had no noticeable aroma, and the walnut was weak), using a flat acrylic disc with a tube insert placed over my rocks glasses to smoke the cocktails.Not only were both cocktails flavorful, but they were completely different from each other. Although both cocktails were made exactly the same, with the same bourbon and recipe, the apple chips created a sweeter cocktail, and the walnut added an earthen-spicy element. The original unsmoked cocktail had a lingering alcohol bite on the finish that both chips smoothed out after smoking. I was pleasantly surprised.In addition to the benefit of great-tasting cocktails, these chips are stored in tins that have screw caps instead of pull-off tops, which I prefer. I’ve found that pull-off tops tend to be one of two things: 1. Difficult to open, so I wind up scattering wood when I finally get it loose, or 2. Easy to open but also easy to knock off, shortening the chips’ lifespan because they somehow manage to wiggle loose in storage. Screw tops prevent both these (likely user-created) issues.The chips themselves are large and easy to light, which has not been the case for most that I’ve used, and the amount included is a lot, especially for this price and quality; it should last me a long time. I’m incredibly pleased and can’t wait to experiment more with these.
