PXG is on the move
I have now played 5 rounds of golf using my new PXG 0311 Black Ops driver. First, it's a really good looking club with a black head with minimal markings and a nice blue shaft. It has a nice grip and a great head cover that is magnetic and can be stuck to your putter or other iron while you are using it. For me, it is just as forgiving on off center hits as my former driver made by a big name company. Yesterday I was able to get several "on the money" strikes off the tee box and I can say that I am getting at least five more yards with this club. I think that PXG will get to be a better known brand in the future.

Great Feeling Driver!
Driver this nice - required proper evaluation, which I have tried but not sure if I succeeded. I rented a time slot at the local PGA superstore and their TrackMan booth to try to compare my current driver vs PXG 0311 10.5 degree Regular shaft driver. I used to be avid golfer but haven't played but 1/2 dozen rounds in the last 12-15 years (family and work got in the way). But recently got fitted for a new driver and irons. I used to hit a 9 degree TaylorMade Burner driver with Stiff shaft and irons with stiff shafts as well. But the computer analysis placed me with a 10.5 Regular shaft 55 grams TaylorMade Stealth II driver (and regular shafted irons). Thus this comparison is between very similar setups as PXG Black Ops is also regular shaft, 55 grams, 10.5 degree driver. Unfortunately my hitting session was very inconsistent with either driver and not the best comparison. But from some numbers I was able to gather that PXG slightly outperformed my current driver. Club head speeds were slightly higher, 2-3 mph. The spin rates were in the ballpark while carry and total distance were better by about 8-10 yards. To give it a better comparison, I took it to the local driving range and luckily was having little better day swinging... Couple of things stood out with this driver, three actually - well four to be exact. The sound is much much better. Not that it matters but it was nice to hear that "full" hit. The driver was more consistent/forgiving. My slices were not as bad. It also felt good at contact. It seemed that I could 'feel' that ball longer on the club face. I know, the ball is on the face for a fraction of the second. Hard to explain. But I really liked that about this driver. One minor negative is that the ball flight was higher at my "regular" tee height. I had to consciously tee it up slightly lower to get the medium to medium high ball flight vs a pop up. I may play with the adjustments a bit to see if that helps. The club does come with a wrench to do just that. In summary, this club is going in my bag for now. Of course, the proof will be on the course :)!

Get fitted!
Get fitted. Took two hours for the technician to find the right combination of shaft, length, club head weight, etc.. The result was amazing. The driver feels like an extension of my arms. I’m hitting the ball 15 yards farther with consistent accuracy. The club is very forgiving and sounds great. Having this club has made golf more enjoyable. It’s great.

Amazing Driver!
I have now played over 10 rounds with the PXG Blacks Ops 0311 driver and all I can say is, WOW! This thing is amazing! I hit more fairways off the tee than I ever did with my old driver. The confidence that I have gained is great. The driver is a very attractive club and looks really good when you address the ball from the carbon fiber look, to the alignment X. I chose the 10.5 degree with a stiff shaft based on my swing speed and ball flight. The Evenflow Riptide CB shaft looks great and is a beautiful blue color. The included head cover looks great with it's matte black finish and gray accents and has a magnet built in that will stick to the posts on the golf cart if you choose to do so. The ball flight seems to be slightly higher than my previous driver and I have gained 5 to 10 yards in distance. The sound produced by the club head material is very nice when you hit the ball well. There is an included tool to adjust the perimeter weights to change the shape of your shots, but haven't found the need to make any adjustments yet. The club performs very well even with shots that aren't quite square and centered and produces a slight right to left draw with my swing style. I am extremely pleased with this driver and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve their golf game. PXG makes amazing golf clubs that not only look great, but the perform great too!

Big PXG fan….but THIS is disappointing
Very disappointed in this product. I’m a big fan of PXG golf technology and equipment, but this driver drastically misses the mark. I have a PXG 3 wood….and I love it, so when it was time for a new driver, PXG seemed like the obvious choice. Wrong. The sound of the ball coming off this club is very “tinny” like the sound you would expect from a cheap, poorly engineered club. This is NOT a highly engineered $600 driver. Distance is 20-25 yards LESS than my 10 year old Cleveland driver that’s now going back into my bag. I trusted the PXG brand too much. Last time I buy any club without swinging it first.
