Once the 1 gallon jug is opened and a portion used does the remainder require refrigeration?

I don't and never did with the smaller bottles either. As I empty a couple of bottles I just refill them from the gallon jug. But I don't see why you couldn't refrigerate.

What is the best by date on this product and is it the thick sauce?

It is not the thick version of Lea & Perrins; it is the traditional version (delicious!). The "best by" date will vary, based on when you order, but face it, this stuff never goes bad! (I bought 20 of the massive bottles, have used two, and certainly have enough for the next 18 monts, without worry!)

Just to make sure this is the PROPER English version, not that rubbish american one that uses corn syrup? Please list ingredients as I check labels!
