A good choice.
A well made and sturdy vent. Build in baffle prevents drafts from entering. Looks good and functions perfectly. Very easy to install. The unit is a little large but I had the room for it. Ended up looking great. Very pleased.

Excellent
Perfect solution for my home. I didn't want a roof penetration and going out the side to vent out the gable end was a long run and having to get in the attic to run duct was not appealing. This is a nice product, made in USA and high quality. Very happy.

Easy to install
Great product. Easy to install in my soffit. Product comes white but I spray painted it tan to match my soffits. Came out great after painting.

Good vent
The shrink wrap packaging slightly deformed the vent, so the flapper did not close completely. I used a hair dryer to warm the vent plastic a bit, then held the vent in the correct shape until it cooled. Works fine now!

PreVent-It Soffit Vent 4 Inch
I replaced a 33 year old bathroom fan/light and knew I would also be replacing the exhaust line at the same time. Thanks to "Ask This Old House" I was made aware of this type of vent housing. The original owner/builder had vented into the soffit with a louvered dryer apparatus. BAD! This is the back side of a Cape Cod style house and the soffit is not attic related but, I was concerned about the humidity that must be building up and the possibility of mold and rot. As luck would have it this item is available from Amazon and the installation process was fairly simple. Obviously, each situation will have its own set of obstacles. The item, as described is paintable, which I did and was able to create an almost flawless color match. I also had caulk that was used from a siding replacement project and able to provide a tight seal. I am glad to have found this and recommend to anyone that has a downward facing vent or, gable venting. Get that moisture away! I would have liked a little better template as the paper one provided was a bit flimsy. I traced the design onto a piece of cardboard and conquered the day.

Worth the Money
This was so easy to install and it looks great on my soffit. When my bathroom fan is turned on I can easily feel the airflow coming from the hose. It's made from very sturdy material.

Worth the money
Nice unit. Easy install . It gives you enough room on the sides to drill a large enough hole to pull down insulated duct. Plastic is thicker than most cheaper vents.

Good but overpriced and I'm not convinced
The design is very effective and as far as I know there is nothing like this in the UK market. However this is ridiculously over priced for what is a cheap plastic product. There is a back draft flap but I'm not convinced it will be either robust or effective - the fit is poor and for the price there should be zero friction at the pivot point.

fast delivery
This was not a cheap bath fan vent solution but the idea behind the design made sense. Preventing mold in your attic makes it worth it. Well made. Easy install.

Great design
Needed this after constantly having ice dams forming around the vent through the roof all winter. Venting heated air through a roof that can get up to 3’ of snow is the dumbest idea ever. Many people worry about the moisture getting in the attic with this vent but the design clearly prevents that. Moist air would clearly rise up over the gutters. I occluded the two rafter vents on either side of this vent as well just as a precaution. If you wanted to you could also put non vented, solid soffits on either side of this vent as well. My flapper is stuck for some reason, I was probably going to remove it anyway, moist air is going to cause ice around the opening all winter and will freeze shut the flapper anyway. But going up there once a month to take the easily removable cap off and clear ice is a lot better that chipping away at ice dams and the water damage that comes with it.

EXPENSIVE and kind of small, not to much alternative...
EXPENSIVE, I had to build a box to make it fit ( I use Fascia Aluminum & pop rivets) — I’m installing the fan right now and will come back to review. I’m a bit unsure about the front grill being too restrictive as the vent is kind of small itself. If restricted, I will cut the front grid and build a replacement.
