Side-Mounted connectors is a game changer!
The Corsair RM1000x Shift is one of the best power supplies I’ve worked with. The fully modular design and side-mounted connectors make cable management much easier, especially in the Corsair iCUE Link 3500X case. We installed this PSU in two gaming rigs, each with 10 fans total, including the 3 fans on the liquid cooler, and it’s handled the load effortlessly. I’ve been disappointed in the past when I purchased products from the same manufacturer expecting them to work well together, but not this time—everything just worked. What really sets it apart is the Shift side-panel modular layout. It gives you better cable routing options, especially with the PSU shroud making it tighter if not for the side-mounted connectors. No more wrestling with cables coming straight out of the back—this layout just makes sense. Overall, the RM1000x Shift is a great PSU for clean, high-performance builds. The modular flexibility and efficient power delivery make it well worth the investment for anyone building a PC.

Perfect so far with a couple unique features
I installed this unit on 10/22/24, so it has only been in use for a couple days. It has been perfect thus far, and I doubt that will change since Corsair make some of the best power supply units available. I think some of the features of this power supply worth considering includes: Cable connections on side of power supply - this makes the cables more accessible than the traditional location on the back of the power supply. This is probably more intended for a dual chamber PC case, but works fine in a 4000D. Miniature power supply connections - the connections on the power supply size are about half as large as the connections for motherboard, GPU, etc. I'm not sure what the purpose is for this besides making it easier to add/remove cables, but it is a cool feature. The only "con" if you would like to call it that is the lack of braided cables. Regardless, the supplied cables feel durable and are not too stiff. I like what I see so far and think this is a great option for 1000W power supplies.

Solid workhorse and the side cables make easy access in tight PSU areas
I've got this in my Phanteks X2 and it fits nicely and the side mount cables don't interfere with the rear panel. PSU fan is completely silent and easily enough juice for the 12700k and OC'd 5080. Having a dedicated 12 pin connector for the GPU is nice.

10/10
Only bad thing I can say is it doesn't come with braided cables, but I'm using covers anyways. If you aren't and care for your cable aesthetics, find a different unit.

Solid, High-Quality and Whisper Quiet
Really impressed with this unit. The build quality is excellent—both the unit itself and the included cables feel premium and durable. Performance-wise, it’s been rock solid and, best of all, it runs quiet as hell. I barely notice it’s on, which is a huge plus in my setup. The only downside I noticed was the labeling—it could definitely be clearer. It took a little extra time to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, but once it's set up, it runs like a dream. Overall, a fantastic product that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a quality, quiet unit.

Side access = Game changer
Fantastic as always with Corsair power supplies. The addition of the Shift lineup really is the one upgrade every pc power supply has needed since they first started doing modular wiring. Having the cables come out the side, readily accessible when installed in the case is just massive QoL improvement and I will NEVER fiddle with my fingertips trying to line up a cable again.

The Corsair RM1000x Shift has been a great power supply for my build so far. It feels solid and well made, runs quietly, and being fully modular makes cable management a lot easier. Once everything is installed, it basically disappears into the background, which is exactly what you want from a PSU. Power delivery has been stable with no weird noises, coil whine, or random shutdowns. The included cables feel decent quality and give enough length and flexibility for routing in a modern case. It’s also nice not having a bunch of unused cables stuffed in a corner since you only plug in what you actually need. The one thing that’s a bit different with this model is the Shift design: the modular connections are on the side that faces the open panel (so the cables point “out” the top/side of the unit) instead of the traditional back. That can definitely complicate things in some cases, especially if there isn’t much clearance between the PSU and the side panel or cable shroud. In my case, the layout worked out well, and it actually made plugging and unplugging cables easier, but I can see it being awkward in tighter builds. What I like most is how quiet and tidy the PSU is once installed, and the fact that the Shift layout suits my case. What I like least is that this design won’t be ideal for every case, and you do need to double‑check compatibility and space before buying. Overall, if your case supports the side-facing modular layout, the RM1000x Shift is a very nice, quiet, and clean-looking high‑wattage PSU that should handle a powerful system without any trouble.

Item is as descrobed and it matches the PC case I have, 4000D Frame RS ARGB. I love it. The only thing I wish was different is the power cable color. I wished it was white as well to match everything else.
