I love this smoker! But i did make some mods to make it better. First, I removed the wood chip tray rack and replaced the little chip tray with a large stainless wood chip box that sits right on the heating element so that it will smoke at low temps, and I don't need to use the external auto wood feeder. Second, I added a smoke stack to keep the smoke up and out plus it just looks cool like a real wood smoker. Third, i painted the back with high temp paint to match again to look like a real smoker all around. The wifi is a little finicy as you have to re-add the device everytine its been powered off but the 4 temp prope plot is awesone!

Finally getting around to writing this for whomever looks at Masterbuilt smokers. Especially this 710 wifi model. This model definitely has issues. Wifi kept dropping quit using it after the first time. Way too frustrating. I just went back to using my standalone probe I'd been using for years. For the actual cooking this worked great the first year. Only used it 4 or 5 times. Second year the first 4 times ran with no issue. Then the next time the smoker just turned off/reset. Go out there and found dinner sitting in the smoke nice and raw... Set temp/time again and worked fine. Ate a REALLY late dinner. Wife was like. You turned it on, right. I'm like, I seriously turned it on. Next time used this and it worked, no problem (I kept checking on it to make sure we had dinner this time and no problems). So, I'm like, maybe it was me. Then the next time I used it (I went out to check on it) and again it reset again and raw meat... This time she's like, maybe it wasn't you. Ugh. Used it and it again worked without issue. Final time, I go out there and set it, but it just keeps shutting off and giving the model/version. So yeah. Not even 15 uses out of this for $350. Doesn't seem like they sell control units for this one either. Only has a 1 year warranty. Start reading other reviews and find that I'm not the only one. Seems quality dropped dramatically. Knock offs control units are $70+ and don't have wifi either, not that I care. But I can't bring myself to put anymore into this after this experience. I had an older model I used for 11 years and the LCD screen went bad after 9 years and kept getting worse. The lines quit lighting up or lit up in weird ways. So you couldn't read the temp. So I would be like this starts at 175 or 185 (can't remember now) and click the + to set the right temperature and it still worked. Just had to count it out correctly and ignore the gibberish on the screen. Problem was no replacement control unit for that model and they used some custom made (4 pin I think it was) LCD module (I couldn't a replacement for anywhere) so I couldn't mod the board. So finally got sick of that and upgraded to this. I was happy it had 4 built in probes and wifi. Ugh. Little did I know. I really wish I still had that old model now...

This is the best smoker I have ever owned. I have always been a user of charcoal and wood chunks, but this is so much better. I added the optional cold smoker attachment, and it does perfect meats and cheeses every time. Game changer

The unit took 17 days to arrive via UPS. When it arrived the top left rear edge was bent as was the bottom left rear edge. Unit seems to function properly but cosmetically marred. After 4 cooks, the WIFI quit working but when I contacted the supplier, they sent a new control module. The unit is working and the customer service is excellent.

I previously bought a bbq grill with an offset smoker. Very basic, very cheap and loved the taste of smoked ribs and salmon, but hated how I had to constantly go outside to regulate the smoke. I had to keep adding wood, opening the vents, closing the vents and making sure the temperature of the meat was OK. You didn’t want to overcook it and didn’t want to undercook it. I was constantly running inside and outside my patio door. With this electric smoker, it is so easy. I bought the add on smoker attachment so I don’t have to continue adding wood chips every 30 minutes, downloaded the app on my phone so I can set the temperature and timer…and it has been smooth sailing every since. I can set the smoker temperature, the timer, add my wood chips and meat, go in the house and relax. My ribs and salmon came out perfect.

You have to pair the phone and smoker every time you power it on. Wireless and wireless app just plan do not work. That part is very disappointing. The app will constantly lose connection after pairing and has even shut off smoker on me when the connection is lost. Without the wireless app, this smoker works great. Since you pay for the extra features like the wireless app, it's a bit of a disappointment. Not sure to give this a 2 or 3 star, but went with 3 because it does work. Update: couldn’t figure out why it was leaking all over when I smoked stuff. There is a drain in the bottom, but it doesn’t work. Turns out that the bottom and sides are not sealed. Grease and steam/water leak out underneath every time you use this thing. Changed to 2 stars although considering a 1. Food still tastes good. Why the hell wouldn’t you seal the bottom and sides? Lazy and cheaply done. I’d buy something else.

Cons: The smoker had to be reconnected for the wifi app every time and didn’t work half the time. Had trouble getting enough smoke. Pros: plenty of space, easy to use, taste is pretty good, value is nice, cleaning is also easy. Easy to put together to. It’s really only the legs your putting on.

I've been looking to get an electric smoker for years.... I've finally got it.

Absolutely love this smoker! Brisket tasted amazing but that’s also because of the cook 🧑‍🍳 Don’t really have anything bad to say about it. Just keep in mind before first use, that it should be cooked for atleast 3 hours with wood chips, before cooking your food to burn off any oils in the smoker. We didn’t realize until after and brisket wasn’t ready until 12 am
