So far, so good, but really really hot, (T705 2 TB Drive)
This is an interesting piece of hardware. This particular NVME SSD Gen 5.0 exceeded read and write speeds for me in Crystal Disk, and that was on a working "C" drive. This Gen 5.0 drive cooks, and in more ways than one. Running this in the Gen 5.0 slot on a Gigabyte X670E motherboard. I made the error of initially installing this drive on an add in card with no heatsink to clone to as the target drive. I thought since the add in card drive PCIe slot was rated at 4.0, and not 5.0, I would not have to worry about temperatures. WRONG. The drive shut down after about 20 seconds, which I believe to be the temperature high limit was tripped. You absolutely have to run this SSD with a good heatsink, no matter what you are doing with it. I did not think the Motherboard heatsink was going to cut it, and installed a Thermalright heat pipe heat sink on the Crucial T705. This is a good heat-sink, but despite that, running Crystal Disk, and the heat-sink sitting above a hot RTX 4080 Super back plate, the drive still hit 80 Degrees C. running the Write portion of the Crystal Disk benchmark. This is in a well ventilated Case, but with an AIO over the CPU, this is kind of a dead space. I am going to get a slightly larger SSD cooler, with a fan. It helps if I run the RTX 4080 fans all the time to cool the video card and not transmit so much heat to the SSD cooler, but I am not gaming all the time nor do I want my Video Card fans running constantly. These are just some caveats to look out for. The Crucial T705 SSD is running flawlessly, and yes, games and programs do load faster. The associated Crucial Storage Executive is fine, but if you are used to the Samsung Tool Box, you will be disappointed. You are best off with an aftermarket cooling solution, as I do not think the "stock" heat sink some of the models come with would be adequate for file transfers, especially being so close to a hot Video Card. Tom's Hardware has some good testing reviews on Gen 5.0 SSD heatsinks with heat pipes. Cheers!

Quick Review
Very fast performance – up to 14,500 MB/s read and 12,700 MB/s write PCIe 5.0 technology for next-generation high-speed storage Great for gaming and heavy workloads like video editing and large file transfers Reliable with a 5-year warranty Runs hot under heavy use, so good cooling is recommended More expensive than most PCIe 4.0 SSDs Overall: One of the fastest consumer SSDs, best for high-end PCs and enthusiasts. Got this on black Friday sale

Super fast and cheap (When I bought it)
Bought this drive to replace my boot drive in my main rig. Drive works flawlessly and is super fast. Price was amazing when I bought it literally a week before the ai craze started. You will need aftermarket cooling if using this drive for large file transfers or applications that push the drive full speed for sustained periods. I have mine paired with a Rhermalrigh h10 Pro digital and it keeps my drive below 50c under load.

This thing is fast
This thing is fast. It souped up my whole computer. Difficult work on whole videos upscaling them works is minutes.

Wow, the T705 delivers on performance!
These drives deliver exactly what they promise with the proper supporting hardware. I am running 2 of these drives; a 1TB OS drive and a 2TB game drive mounted on an Asus ROG Strix X670E-F mobo with a 7800X3D CPU. Right out of the box these drives were delivering maximum anticipated sequential read and write speeds, of 13+Gbps and 14+Gbps respectively. One thing that I think most people overlook is the fact that your OS drive can take advantage of Momentum Cache through the Crucial Storage Executive software. Enabling Momentum Cache will lower your top end sequential read and write speeds (see the 3rd pic) but it makes a HUGE boost to your random read and write speeds (which are the most imporant on an OS drive for it to boot quickly, load your login apps, and make the OS feel as snappy as possible). I definitely recommend enabling this feature for your boot drive. My game drive is seeing 14+gbps sequential reads and let me tell you, large map and level load times in AAA titles are insanely fast. I have once to be beaten into a game by another player since installing this drive. Overall, EXCELLENT drives and worth the money. Very very happy with my purchase.

Great!
It is a shame that the owners are retiring this brand of the market. This NVMe is great, good capacity and faster, you will notice its speed inmediatly. I use it as my main drive for the OS and I am really happy with it.

Just Hope You Don't Need Support
Since they were introduced in 2tb and 4tb sizes for computers, we have purchased 6 of these. Five were installed and ran without a problem. However, one didn't. So, I filled out the first form online with the serial number, etc., and attached a scan of the purchase invoice. After they confirmed that it was indeed a T705 and that we bought it, we got the next email two days later. With that, there was a further list of 14 questions and tests they wanted us to perform before sending the NVMe back, along with wanting screen captures of what appeared with each test. For some reason, they had a hard time understanding that the drive couldn't be put through the tests since the computer did not see the problem with the drive. I say computers because we tried to get it initialized on all 6 computers and 3 different software we have running in the shop - MAC, PC, and Laptop. Finally, I convinced them I knew what I was talking about, and they sent a label (NOT prepaid) to send the NVMe back. Where is the logic here? Why would we, or anyone for that matter, return a perfectly good drive only to be sent another of the same? This is especially frustrating when the product is under warranty. Ours was five weeks since purchase, so it couldn't be returned to Amazon, but that is what the manufacturer's warranty is for - I think that is correct. Who would buy any electronic item without a warranty to cover defective items? The bottom line is that we will be going back to the Gigabyte 12000 drives and hope Samsung will release their Gen 5 NVMe soon. We have purchased 57 NVMe drives so far this year; in the future, none will ever again be Crucial. We had to take the time to pack, pay for the shipping, and deliver THEIR defective product for replacement. UPDATE: We got a new drive three weeks after we returned the defective drive. Of course, in the meantime, we had to buy another drive. IMO, it is not fair to keep our client waiting because of Crucial's ridiculous policy. We did have a defective Samsung 990 earlier in the year, and it was returned with a pre-paid label, and we got a replacement within 10 days. — Let's see if Crucial pays any attention! 2nd UPDATE: Well now the third one died. That is 3 out of 4 we bought are all dead. Finally I have learned my lesson.
