Great balls of desire . I used to have soap nuts to do my washing as I don't like the chemically petrol industry driven washing products out there in the shops . This is wonderful, you just put it in the machine stand back and wash your clothes. No real scent to it, nor was there with the soap nuts, I suppose you could add essential oils to the mix if you wanted to jazz it up . I think they have around 1000 washes in them, just dry it out before the next wash for it to work better.

Will save money on expensive detergents as well as being eco friendly .. Purchase them for using washing machine on narrow boat to prevent further water pollution ... First wash at home very pleased with result .

I was sceptical when I got this, wondering if it was really going to wash my clothes properly. It also has a scent but only very lightly. It does well to clean clothes from my 3 children 2 being teenagers so it needs to be tough and it’s good for towels too, my clothes come out the machine clean and fresh so it’s a win and the savings I will make in the long run by not buying the hugely overpriced washing products is definitely a bonus. I will add though that although it is great for your skin and environment that there are no chemicals, the ball doesn’t open like other brands to replace beads so the plastic ball and contents will eventually end up in landfill so this is one downside and why I haven’t given it 5 stars.

Like many people, I was very sceptical that this was just another daft gimmick, but I allowed myself to be swayed by the +ve comments. An issue with the trader (item says 2 balls & only one was despatched), was sorted out very quickly - very impressed with SSD trading on that - but back to the product - first wash, we allowed loads of room for the ball so only really a half wash - and the clothes were clean - no smell whatsoever (so if you like a smell - do as others suggest add a bit of softener). The acid test came the next day - wife fell over in the mud - well she says it was mud but as we have horses..................? Jodhpurs came out perfectly clean and again with no smell. Impressed ! Both with the product & the dealer.

In the aim to reduce reliance on stuff that doesnt necessarily help the planet - this seems like a great investment both to lessen our impact on the planet and economically by not having to buy washing powder. And not having to find the space to store it!

Ok for light washes but washing didn’t smell fresh

I admit I purchased these thinking they would end up in the bin. I was so wrong. They are fantastic. My clothes come out cleaner than when using detergent and without that greasy feel you get from softeners. Clothes do crease but not quite as bad as when using detergents. Clothes smell of nothing but freshness. I don't find the machine is any noisier when using the balls either. For soiled items like tea towels and handkerchiefs I use both balls at 60 deg and for very soiled items I may add a tiny bit of detergent. I would recommend to anyone if you want natural smelling clean clothes.

I have done five washes with the Washing Ball and am pleased with the results. Today I included a couple of tea towels which were stained in the wash, I put some stain remover on them before placing in the washer. They came out sparkling. Just be careful with anything that is badly stained, scrub with a bit of washing up liquid or stain remover first. I cannot figure out how this thing works but it does. And what's more cloths are nice and soft when dried. Towels and face cloths are nice and soft without using softener. Do not know how long it will last but am pleased with it so far.

Die Wäsche duftet frisch und ist weich aber ganz ohne Waschmittel wird sie leider nicht sauber...

I bought 2 of these balls and have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised that they actually work. I've done a several loads of laundry so far, some hot water, some loads cold and a warm water load and they all came out clean. For anything extra soiled I just spray the spot/area with a laundry stain spray and so far everything comes out clean and doesn't smell - including my towels. The only thing I am concerned about is the instructions say to put the balls out in the sun about once a month to recharge - but what about in the winter when we don't see sun or the rare day we see some sun and it is so cold will they still recharge on sun-less day or freezing cold sunny day? I guess I will find out at the end of the year. One thing I have noticed - since using these balls, I have absolutely no mouldy smell from the front load washer like I used to get when I used liquid or pods - that alone is a huge bonus to me and worth it.
