Better Than I Thought
I see a some reviews that are not favorable, but the pictures of the item they're reviewing show a different model than the image that is posted for this specific boom arm. The boom arm that I have is the same as the picture in the product image. That boom arm is good. It's good quality and functions nicely. The material is pretty decent quality and even the warranty card is made of some heavy duty stock paper. That brings up another thing to take note is that they stand by their product.

STURDY
This microphone arm is sturdy and holds the weight of my blue bluebird condenser microphone. It also rotates and has a revolving clamp that can fasten to surfaces. It comes with a Allen wrench/locking key. I bought this version of the arm, because I have had the ones with spring supports and the springs would pop off. (Which was unsafe). Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

Gets the job done at an inexpensive price point!
I really wasn't expecting much, so I can definitely say I'm not disappointed. That having been said, let's start with the good. First, all the important parts are metal, which is nice. I have seen others that have a plastic adapter piece to fit various size mics, but this one is made with brass, so it all fits nicely and feels sturdy. I have a Blu Snowball and this stand works great with it. Fit is good, and it has no trouble at all supporting the weight. The knobs to adjust tightness work "ok" and I don't get the impression they'll fail easily, but I'm skeptical of their long term reliability. Now for the not-so-great. It does feel slightly flimsy. It doesn't wobble terribly or anything, but I've definitely seen better workmanship. Still, for the price, one can't really complain. The biggest grievance I have with it is the non-adjustable hinges are _very_ tight. I can take the bottom set of springs off and there's no worry about slippage. Of course, this means that adjusting it can be challenging since you can't just easily push it away. It usually requires two hands for me to adjust it. A minor niggle, but if you're one of those people that can't stop adjusting your mic (you know who you are) you might want to look for something that adjusts a little more easily. My only other complaint (but really just a nit pick) is that I wish it were longer. I have a fairly deep desk (think Ikea) and I can't easily mount it to the back of the desk and bring it all the way across to me without it feeling super awkward. I fixed this by mounting it to the side of my desk. Plus, if I'm being fair, the range and range of motion is about par for the course for this type of design. Overall, I'd say it's a worthy investment if you're looking for a cheap mic stand. Even more so since you don't get the pop filter and other things that normally drive up the prices on these things. Still, if you want those things, then you have to look elsewhere. If you just want something simple that works, this should be great.

Very good quality, Sturdy
First things I like to say is that this is a scissor arm that CAN handle the weight of a Blue Yeti -- a fantastic, but notoriously heavy microphone. Simple to install, nicely constructed, excellent instructions including a rundown of the issue with some older Blue Yetis that were manufactured with the wrong size bolt. It even included a small roll of thread tape just in case, which I thought was above and beyond what most companies would provide. Adjustment after the fact is easy, the whole setup feels very sturdy. Load-bearing capabilities are fast and easy to adjust just by removing a pair of springs and moving a single screw. The default configuration is for lighter to average-weight microphones, but if you have a Blue Yeti, you're going to want to adjust it for the heavier load, it makes a huge difference. The instruction booklet that comes with it is very clear on how to do this and the entire process takes 5 minutes or less. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive arm to get their recording equipment up off of their desk! I will be coming back to purchase from Aokeo again, best experience I had!

Great Product, Great Support
I've used many different mic stands for my condenser mic. I've found a lot of the spring ones don't last or support the weight of my mic well enough. This one is great, easy enough to adjust, and strong. It supports the weight just fine, and I can keep it in place or adjust it as necessary without difficulty. The threads of one of the nut pieces where the mic is held got stripped somehow and no longer worked so I contacted their support and they were kind, respectful, and easy to work with to obtain a replacement. I highly recommend this mic stand for anyone that has issues with spring-based stands or who prefers a more static setup.

The price shows
If you have it upright, it is good, but I have mine hanging from above and the attach point likes to become loose. Also after a while, it likes to sag down. Other that that though, it does it's job decently. It is fairly good for the price.

good enough
i bought 2 of these and you can take them apart and piece it together the way you want. i used the longer arms from both to make a really long boom over my monitors and its holding up fine. i wish that was an option from the get-go but nobody else makes it either. my only complaint is the granularity of the adjustments is pretty coarse but it works for me. There is no spring/tension action, its just friction and notches at the joints. comes with a mic adapter. cable management is simple and works fine.

Good for what it is, but not for what I needed
Overall this boom arm seems fine. It's nice and long so it can reach a good amount of my large desk. The base feels solid, and the arm fits in very snuggly so it doesn't feel like it's going to go anywhere. So overall, it seems like a nice boom arm. However, I returned this one because the biggest issue I have with this is that when I'm done with my mic, I like pushing it off to the side and out of the way until I need it again. But with this one, there are knobs at every joint. And to keep it stable, you have to tighten every knob. If you do this, you no longer can just push the boom arm off to the side to get it out of the way. When you're done using the mic, I have to unscrew each knob and then push it out of the way to where you want it and then rescrew the knobs back in so it stays in its new location. Definitely not something that is useful in my situation. As for flexibility, unfortunately there is not a full range of motion, but I don't think it's unlike other like products. It would be nice if you could bend each section of the arm both down and up in fairly full range, but sadly this one doesn't. You can get a 180/flat line that then bends downward, but can't bend up beyond that 180 degree range. In the video I posted one of the knobs even came off while recording. They all tend to do that a little too easily so keep that in mind. Overall it feels like a well built device, but just doesn't work well for how I use boom arms in my office.

Item does not ship with an adapter.
Do not buy unless you have the original adapter/adaptor for hyperx. Other boom arms come with one, this one doesn't.

Easy to install and good quality
The quality of the arm seems to be good. I have to see how long it will hold up after i have used it for longer period of time. Easy to install in a few minutes.
