The real deal!
I spot-sprayed this and allowed it dwell for a bit (1-2 minutes) on some sap droplets that had previously resisted both strip wash and iron remover. They flaked off with some light scrubbing from a microfiber. Very effective, at least for the sap droplets I was dealing with! A couple of suggestions: - If you've found this product and aren't familiar with the basics of auto detailing, do yourself a favor and go watch some videos on the subject. This product addresses a very specific problem. It is powerful and, if you use it alone, as opposed to one step in a larger wash, you could run into issues. - I don't see any reason to coat a panel with this. Spot spray it on the problem or problem areas, and immediately wipe off any drips or runs out the area. Or, do like another reviewer suggests and apply it to a microfiber instead of the panel. - Minimally, I would rinse the panel you apply this to, as it will likely strip waxes and coatings. Ideally, I'd use this product at the beginning or mid-way through a car wash, so that you can soap down the entire vehicle and apply/reinforce any wax or ceramic coat products you've applied previously. If you find more sap spots that need attention after drying, don't be lazy. Wash the vehicle down again and reapply coating.

Great product!
Excellent for removing those bugs on the front of my car without doing any damage to the paint. Spray it on wait a minute and wipe off. So easy!

Off label use, but worth it!
A+ Ok, So I must preface this review because I used it for an off label use. But if Rain X is smart they might run with this! I used it for my business. I rehab house. It does an amazing job removing some of the foulest stuff from some of these disgusting houses. Caked on stuff on windows. Sticky nasty stuff on cabinets probably from mice and other pests. I used Grease Lightning and Goo Be Gone and they didn’t do as well. This stuff is amazeballs!

Works very well, but I would not spray it on directly, esp if there's rubber/rubber coating nearby.
Unfortunately, I did spray it directly on, on my motorcycle's plastic windscreen and the front painted plastic cowling and headlight where the bug mung gathers, which the directions SAID I was supposed to do. Says it's fine for painted surfaces, etc, and to leave it sit for a minute before starting to wipe it off. Well, yes and no... The problem? Ok, it says DO NOT get it on any rubber (because it will eat into it and destroy it). But it's actually more like fine print, not in BOLD TEXT, so that little tidbit of info is easy to miss because of this. Really stupid, since there's so much rubber and rubber coated stuff on our vehicles these days. So, first problem: my windscreen has a rubber strip along the bottom, so it's almost impossible to spray it on the windscreen but somehow not get any on that rubber, let alone let it soak for a minute without it dripping down onto it. But I was careful, only sprayed it on lightly, and kept wiping off the drips running down the screen to keep it from the rubber. USE A MICROFIBER CLOTH, by the way! Especially on plastic or paint! The far worse problem is that I sprayed it on that painted cowling. My front fender is also painted plastic and the stuff I sprayed on the cowling dripped onto that fender. Unconcerned about that because they tell us it's fine, I took my time with the cloth, got all the bug goo off the screen and cowling, and THEN I got to the drips on the fender. Which had somehow sorta burned into the paint, and it's now a bit discolored where that drip streak was sitting for 15 minutes. Furious? Yes. Yes, I am FURIOUS! ****June 17, 2025 EDIT: I need to address the serious flaws in the above here. That discoloration somehow went away. Not sure when, cuz I rarely happen to be looking at my front fender. But, it's gone. No damage to paint or coating. I just left the original paragraph above there so anyone experiencing this could rest easier with this additional info added. Not furious. Just a bit ashamed. lol I would still suggest not letting any of it sit there for a long time, but it seems to be far less a problem than I had thought. ___________ So, what I discovered from all this is that it's really just unnecessary to spray it on, let alone to leave it soak for a minute. Spray it right onto your microfiber cloth and none of this will happen to you. You don't even need to use very much, and it cleans all the crud off just fine this way. And I was surprised to find out that it just rinses right out of the cloth, along with the crud, so it's ready to go the next time I use it. I figured I'd have to throw the cloth out. I mean, it's RAIN-X. But I'm quite glad that it does wash right out. I revised my rating from 4 stars to 5, by the way...

100% ineffective
I bought this to remove tar from my car. I sprayed on, let it soak a minute or two then rubbed it with clean white paper towel. The paper towel was just as clean before wiping than after. This product is unless at removing tar and it’s too bad because I was hoping to use a product that is better for the environment than a petroleum based product but this is VERY much not it...

Excellent Product
Smells like oranges. Works really well. You can let it sit for a while because it has a viscous, soapy texture that prevents it from drying quickly. Got rid of really stubborn tire-shine splatter on paint. Bugs came off like nothing.

Works, but takes some scrubbing.
Well, this works but takes some scrubbing. Gotta be honest, was looking for 'Mothers' Bug and Tar remover but found this cheaper. Again, it works, but not like the Mother's. That stuff makes tar start dissolving away as soon as it touches it.

Worked on black spots on car
We park one car under an oak tree, and the top of the car ends up with tons of black spots that are very hard to remove. This stuff worked extremely well.
