This sand scoop feels very sturdy, it weighs enough that you know it's there but not enough to be considered a problem. Can't wait till I get to use it while on vacation this year, hope I can wear it out but it seems like that may be hard to do.

After searching many sites and reading reviews of other scoops, I decided on this one for the price and positive reviews. The only complaint I saw from another reviewer was that they had difficulty finding a handle that fit, but I had no trouble at all. I simply went to a local hardware store with the scoop and matched it to a sturdy wooden shovel handle that fit perfectly. I cut it to about 4 feet in length, and attached it with two #4 stainless steel screws. The total cost for the handle and screws was just over $10 - a bargain compared to other scoop handles on the market. I just tested it at my beach and it is very sturdy and functional. I intended to use this for metal detecting, but it is also great for hunting sand fleas.

I purchased one with the handle a few months ago. I found the scoop and handle very sturdy. But I also realized I needed another but I didn't need the handle just the scoop. I have cats and these heavy duty scoops with the handle is absolutely perfect for sifting and cleaning out the litter. I was using a spade shovel to clean out the box.

Seems like a good sturdy product, something like this is a must have for sand detecting. It’s nice because you can use the handle or attach it to a pole. Dr Otek is good for balancing quality and price.

Works great. A pole would definitely save your back but this totally works as is.

Received my scoop yesterday and was very surprised with the size and quality of the scoop. I have worked quality departments in machine shops for most of my life. I would pass this with no problem. The fabrication, the welding and the material used is top notch. You won't be disappointed with this scoop.

This scoop is very well made, not some flimsy cheap scoop. It has a good weight to it, sturdy. Comfortable handle and can accommodate a pole for upright scoopage. All in all very pleased, can’t wait to sift up some treasure!

So it won't fit the average pole that's sold on Amazon of 1.25". Too small. Was very inconvenient when I purchased a pole that cost double that didn't fit. They don't tell you the dimension on purpose so you are stuck like me and wasted money and time.
