Press Firmly. Must seat fully.
Never used press-on fittings before but now I wouldn't use anything else unless required by code. Easy to use, just press on (make sure you fully press pipe into fitting.) Works as designed and better than getting out the solder.

Works well
I replaced my outdoor sillcock faucets using this connecting up to our 1/2 inch PEX. Even though they say it takes less force to use it took a lot to put it in. Make sure your cut is straight and use the depth guide and deburr tool Sharbite sells for cheap and you won't have to worry about it. For screwing it on I used just a couple wraps of teflon tape and blue Megaloc to ensure there is no leaks. I screwed it all the way down using wrenches.I know some plumbers would say these are temporary only but I have the non-max style I used for my water heater and those have no leaks years later. I will be checking for leaks in the coming weeks/months though just for the piece of mind.

Great Fittings!
Shark bite pet fittings are very easy to use and well constructed. I used this item to add a tankless water heater to our RV and the 1/2 NPT threaded right onto both water ports. Shark bite has many different types of fittings that fit almost any application

No leaks, easy install
I used this to add an expansion tank to water heater system. I was able to fit all the components and then slip this as the final connection. No leaks and easy.

Simple Install!
I had my doubts but these things are like magic! Installation is simple and they just work. It's like sorcery because they look nothing like the compression fittings I'm accustomed to for copper.
