The Polara Deluxe offers an upgraded trim package to the base Polara model, delivering classic aesthetics that recall 1970s design elements with modern enhancements. Where the base Polara model is stripped down, the Polara Deluxe is elevated—including a bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, Guild Peak and Chesterfield headstock inlays, Guild compensated stopbar tailpiece, and color options ranging from classic transparent to modern metallic. Review: This One Is A Keeper - Highly recommended - This guitar arrived very well packaged. I bought this as a used "like new" from desertcart and I have only one question: Why would anyone return this guitar? It is immaculate. It weighs 6.6 pounds. The neck feels amazing. They call it a soft U neck and all I can say is it feels great. I have an SG with a slim taper D neck, and this one feels just as good in my hands. The fit and finish is flawless. The tuners are excellent. The setup was perfect right out of the box. As good as any I have ever bought, and that's about 100 guitars at this point. The electronics function perfectly. And the pickups sound great on every setting, including the coil splits, which is quite rare. This guitar sells for around 700 dollars new, and it's worth it. This is a guitar you will keep until you stop playing. If you have ever wanted an SG style guitar, I'd highly recommend trying one of these. Out of the hundred or so guitars I have bought, I have about twelve that are true keepers. This is one of them. Almost forgot to mention - The guitar arrived without a switch tip. So, there's the only negative I could find. Ordered a new pair of switch tips for around seven dollars and problem solved. Maybe the person who returned it really only wanted a switch tip, so returned the guitar? Review: Built better than a new Gibson USA SG - These guitars are the best bang for the buck out there. I'm a luthier and work on guitars daily. This guitar can play country or metal with the amazing split pick ups. It feels great in your hands and the neck smoothes out very quickly. The binding is exquisite and the frets were perfectly level. Neck dive? No way. It feels great on the strap and holds position well. I mean it is an insanely well built guitar. A little story - I bought this Polara Deluxe and soon after a customer I know well brought a brand new USA made SG in for a set up. Important to note that the Polara and the SG are NOT the same guitar, they are similar but they are their own respective things. The Guild was nearly perfect out of the box, I only had to intonate the G string. The binding is perfect and as was the paint. SO clean. I'm still stunned how good it was out of the box. The Gibson was a different story. I had to level some frets, mess with the nut a bit, and the neck was a bit back-bowed on the Gibson. The paint was also sloppy and there were flecks on the heel of the neck. I started to wonder if this was a Chibson.. but there was a receipt in the case from a big name guitar store from the Windy City that we've all heard of. He actually bought a Polara after I showed him mine. Do yourself a favor and buy one for yourself. You won't be sorry. Thanks Guild, excellent work. Now please make a 27" baritone version in black and send me one to test out. - Larry
