Does what’s advertised but am I astounded? No.
Do not listen to these people claiming this card can match the popular and cheap RX 580, because it can’t. The 580 is faster without the Ray-Tracing, which in my opinion, is worthless. I could care less about Ray-Tracing. What a waste of energy and huge amount of money. Well designed games don’t need it. Anyway the RX 3050 does exactly what the advertisers say it will as long as you set the settings to 1080p. They make it clear this is not a 4K video card. It will work in 4K but not in the newest AAA games. For me it got very good video scores in 1080p. If you want 4K then save your money as this is not your card. But if you are using an old Dell with one of Dells famous low powered power supplies and you want some sort of gaming experience, then this card is for you. Pros: Very low power demands Pretty and sharp visuals. Very easy to install. Just slide in the slot and you’re ready. Good gaming as long as you have mature and reasonable expectations. If you like old games then this card is for you as this will play all old games, such as Skyrim, all Quake games including Quake 2 RXT, all Diablo games including Diablo 4 if you set the visuals to 1080p, most Doom games if you set the card to 1080p. Any game made 2016 or before, runs great in games best visuals, have reasonable expectations. Outstanding Nvidia drivers. Cons: you’re fooling yourself if you think your going to Ray-Trace with this card on a new high demanding triple A game. Recommend worth five stars

Good every Day GPU
Clean simple install, plug and play, buss powered, quiet fan, no issues, this GPU relieved presure from Processor and Ram, and bypasses Integrated graphics chip, on an older off the shelf pre built computer, Asus MD11-AD i7 4790, and 16gb DDR3 ram...its overkill for simple everyday non gamer, personal office use, but super smooth for youtube, and Teams meetings.

Great GPU Upgrade for Some but Not All
So far, so good! TLDR; Affordable, well packaged, easy install, solid upgrade for pre-built integrated graphics computers with smaller power supplies, and/or cases with size constraints, will help provide more available RAM for CPU/system tasks. Disclaimer: I am not a gamer, my main use case is 3D modeling/business/productivity, the computer that was upgraded is an HP ENVY TE-01 3254 with an Intel i7-127000 12th gen, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD The HP ENVY has some real limitations in upgrading the GPU due to the small stock power supply (310W) and size constraints of the case. I considered upgrading the power supply and getting a higher powered GPU, but for my needs it wasn't absolutely necessary. So, I opted for the RTX 3050 6GB based on price, and ease of installation with no external power needed as it receives all power needed from the PCIe slot itself. The apps that I'm using most are Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, sometimes Sketchup, and the Adobe Suite, mostly Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. In general these apps use a lot of system memory, but have also benefited from the updated GPU. I've used Revit with various computers over the years, and it performed decently with the built-in graphics card, but the RTX 3050 (or any dedicated GPU) is definitely snappier and everything looks more crisp. I'm not doing a lot of rendering, if you're using a dedicated rendering engine for Revit or Sketchup, the more VRAM you have, the better. One definite benefit after adding the RTX 3050 is the availability of system RAM. In Task Manager, I was always seeing 85% or more of Memory Usage with multiple apps open. With the RTX 3050 that has dropped down to around 50-60% which is great for the overall stability of the system while providing more available memory for the CPU. The GPU is operating around 35-40 degrees Celsius and I don't notice the fans unless I put my ear right by the CPU tower. I know the 3050 is a much maligned GPU by many in the gamer and tech community and there are generally much better options for that user base, but I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. A few tips for those with minimal experience in upgrading their computers: set a system restore point before the install, be sure to remove all of the peels from the GPU prior to install, it has a lot of them and was packaged exceptionally well; the computer should recognize the GPU after restart, sometimes you might need to unplug an plug the monitor cable into the new GPU, it will usually disable onboard graphics if applicable; then you can install the NVIDIA app and GPU Tweak 3 to customize your settings.

Solid Entry-Level GPU for 1080p Gaming
Installed the ASUS Dual RTX 3050 6GB OC Edition in a budget-oriented build paired with a mid-range Intel CPU. Setup was straightforward, and the card powered up without any driver issues. For 1080p gaming, performance is solid in esports titles and lighter AAA games at medium to high settings. More demanding modern games may require adjusted settings, but overall frame rates remain playable. DLSS support helps improve performance in supported titles. The dual-fan design keeps temperatures controlled, and noise levels stay reasonable under load. Power consumption is also modest, making it suitable for builds that don’t require a high-wattage power supply. This card is best suited for entry-level gaming systems, office-to-gaming upgrades, or compact builds where efficiency and cost balance matter more than ultra-high settings. Overall, a dependable option for users targeting smooth 1080p performance without stepping into higher price tiers.

Just what I needed
I built my computer a few years ago with an intel 11400 CPU, and I was just using the integrated graphics. But the other day I tried to play a Windows game that would barely play, so I decided to finally get a GPU. I got the 3050 6GB OC (overclock) edition. It's nice that the 6GB models do not require a power connection to the power supply. They are just powered by the PCI slot, so that's nice it saves a little work. A guy on here had a review talking about needing an 8 pin connector, but I later realized he had purchased the 8 GB card, and not a 6GB card. Installation was very easy. Took off plastic on outside face and then plastic on the metal ports. Removed the plastic plug cover for the HDMI port, I left the other 2 port plugs in there. Before installing into motherboard there's a plastic cover to remove on the GPU's connector strip where you plug it into the motherboard. Then just remove 2 of the little strip panels on your computer's case, and use the 2 screws to secure the GPU. Once I got the computer running I went to Nvidia.com to download the driver and app (comes in one download if you select that). They give you the option of using either a "gaming driver" or "studio driver". Even though I'll play some games I chose to use the studio driver, it seems a little more stable and I'll also be using creativity/productivity apps. I am overall happy with this GPU so far, I think it will fit my needs and it's budget friendly. I was surprised there are not really any good GPU options around $100 new. For example a GPU about half as good as this for $100, it doesn't exist. The GPUs that are around $100 new aren't even worth getting for example the GT 1030. I seen a lot of guys online saying this 3050 isn't as good as the 28% better AMD 6600 card for $200. But none of them say or keep in mind that Nvidia cards are generally better for creative software programs, and even AI stuff I hear. While the AMD card might give you a little more bang for the buck for gaming, that's about its only advantage. So for me I'm choosing Nvidia all day since I'm not only playing games with my GPU.

Works great as a 2nd GPU with some flaws.
Pros, 1. Low power that can be ran on almost any PC with only using power from the motherboard. No external PCIE power connection required and only draws 70 watts. It makes this ideal for old Dell systems with no 6 or 8 pin power plugs. 2. Unlike some people I didn't find the fans to be loud nor the temperatures to be to high though I haven't really put this GPU under any heavy load. 3. Works great as a dedicated PhysX GPU for the new RTX 5000 series since Nvidia stopped suport for CUDA 32 bit on these new GPUs. 4. This is the best use I've found. This GPU is great for using while running heavy video encoding workloads on a more powerful Nvidia GPU. I was using this GPU with a RTX 5070TI. I'd run video encoding while using the RTX 3050 to watch YouTube video, watch movies and I could even play less demanding video games at the same time since I'm also using a Ryzen 7 9800X3D which gives me enough core and threads to do both. 5. This is a PCIE 4.0X8 GPU so you lose next to no performance when running this GPU in a PCIE 4.0x4 or a 3.0x16 slot. It doesn't seem to saturate the bandwidth at those points. Cons, 1. It's a PCIE 4.0x8 so be careful how old your system is. On something like a PCIE 3.0x4 or lower you'll be likely to suffer performance loss. 2. As a second GPU it can be problematic. It's a 2 slot design and a lot of newer motherboards put their second fastest PCIE slot at the bottom of the board. The way I get around this is to use a riser cable and mount this GPU vertically. The drawback is my GPU still sticks out a little bit. I may shop around for a bigger case that'd have additional room at the bottom or is wider so it doesn't stick out of the case. 3. If running as a 2nd GPU make sure you have a powerful enough PSU. Since I'm running a RTX 5070TI as my primary GPU the one I own recommends a 850 watt PSU. Fortunately I have a 1000 watt PSU so I have enough headroom. 4. If you're looking to buy this as a budget gaming GPU I'd advise against it. You be far far better off buying something from the used market. You're more likely to get a much more powerful gaming GPU at a far better price. Even if you do rendering tasks even older RTX GPUs can be found cheaper used that will perform far far better. Update: No matter what I did I could not get the sound to go through the HDMI port on the RTX 3050, I highly believe it's conflicting drivers. My workaround is to use the onboard sound or an external DAC to get sound while using the RTX 3050. Currently I'm using to headphone jack on the front of my PC to get sound while using the RTX 3050. I can switch to HDMI sound through my receiver when I'm using the RTX 5070TI for games and Dolby Atmos/Dolby Vision movies and my more demanding newest AAA games. Newest update: As I said about having issues fitting this GPU in my older case which was a Phantek P500A I ended getting a new case that solved that issue and I'll include a picture. I bought a LIAN LI LANCOOL 216 E-ATX PC Case and if you put the motherboard in the aircooled position it will fit a 2 slot GPU on the bottom with a little room for airflow. My cable management bites, but this should give you an idea if you want to try this like I did. It works well for me.

Easy to install!
I'm definitely know a little more about code and software than the average Joe shmo but I'm usually a mess with hardware. This was so easy to install. Just pop my old one out, and plug this baby in and lock it in place. For the most part, Nvidia's software does the rest. It's so nice not to have to keep games on the lowest settings just so they can run properly. Also installing this gave me the courage (and reason) to upgrade my main hard drive. Maybe by next summer I'll tackle upgrading my cpu.
