Update: i'm changing my review because first of all the one star has nothing to do with the product, so I will be changing that now and also I got to thinking we all make mistakes, so if you like this soup I recommend it, it's a little salty for my taste but it's still fantastic the dumplings are so good. I just added a little more water and it helped big time.

This used to be the standard for canned C&D but now it's a disaster. The broth is watery, the dumplings are no longer uniform in size or shape, just blobs of something starchy, the chicken used to be recognizably chicken but now is cubes of, well, something they claim is chicken, the size of a pea, and looking like compressed parts of whatever that is, and tastes like - well - it ain't good. I suspect some Harvard MBA took over, slashed ingredient quality to dog turd levels so the stock price would soar and they could quit and dump their stock at a huge profit, and the company be damned. ZERO STARS. bit Amazon doesn't allow zero stars. AVOID AT ALL COST.

I have purchased this many times and will continue to do so. I like the gravy, the smallish size to the dumplings and the amount of food in the can. Finding that one can is enough for two meals for me alone was great and that two cans will feed my family is a bonus. I add veggies as a side and it’s perfect! Highly recommend!!

I bought these out of nostalgia ... I used to eat them almost every day when I was in grade school. Back then, the chicken was truly shredded (now its cut like little square cat food chipped portions), the gravy was thicker (pretty much water today), and everything in the can was more flavorful. Sad to see how corner cutting in 2026 destroyed a classic item from 40 years ago.

This is probably my favorite canned soup. It's very chunky and I know. It's like the cheapest ingredients but to me. It seems very Hardy like after I finish it. I'm pretty good for the rest of the day till dinner if I have this for lunch. You could have it for a dinner. It's not large enough for 2 people, but maybe 2 kids possibly even 3. So it is a good meal and with bread. Maybe some bread it's really good or throwing some vegetables with it. You'll have yourself a good meal. I do feel like it's kind of expensive while not kind of it is expensive because it is just a very simple soup, so maybe they can lower the price a little bit for it. But I have only seen this go up in price through the years. Never down. I think that if it was comparable in price to like regular soups. Even given its larger size amount that it would probably sell off the shelves. The company is not doing itself. A favor by keeping the price high on this. They could please people by keeping the price low and selling tons of it

I used to really like Sweet Sue's chicken and dumplings these are a little bit different it seems like the chicken or smaller pieces but the dumplings are the same and it did seem like it was a little more watery than when I ordered it last winter I just pour a little of the water off and sometimes I like to put some peas and carrots in mind but it's still good I mean that the dumplings are really good with the chicken pieces aren't like they used to be there in little small Chucks and it didn't used to be that way I mean why would they change something that was already good you know why do you want to change it when it's not better change you know what I mean
