Eonon 7'' Double Din Car Stereo Wireless CarPlay Android Auto X3

For the price, this is an excellent no-frills head unit that delivers fast, reliable wireless CarPlay without the usual Android bloat. It fits perfectly in my NB Miata when paired with the Metra Electronics 99-7505 double DIN installation kit. I originally bought it because of the reviews and the extremely low cost, and it has exceeded expectations. The Linux-based operating system boots quickly, and wireless CarPlay connects in under 10 seconds. Rear camera performance is clear and reliable. I like having a physical volume knob, although there is no mute function for CarPlay, so volume has to be turned down manually. Call audio quality is very good even without using an external microphone. Installation was customized: I removed the ISO connector and wired in an aftermarket Miata harness, bypassed the factory Bose amplifier to run the head unit directly to the speakers, and added a separate switch for the power antenna since the unit’s blue wire is always on. Sound quality is an improvement over my previous Pioneer single-DIN head unit.

Far surpassed my expectations for the price. For starters, the interface is fairly easy to navigate and full of features, but the head unit boots up fairly quickly (5-7 seconds after the ignition is switched on). I installed the included rear-view camera, and the sharpness and quality is also excellent for the price. FM/AM reception is good, phone connectivity is stable, and wireless Carplay works wonderfully without much lag. The amplifier gets plenty loud and will overpower my factory car speakers if I set the volume above halfway, but there is plenty of granularity in how much you can adjust the volume. Overall, I was very impressed with this head unit, it was relatively easy for me to install, but I have a background in electronics. It took me about 3 hours all in. Make sure to get the required audio wiring harness and dash kit for your vehicle. Some cars will be able to accept this with no modification (I think some GM vehicles work with the included harness). I had to purchase an additional harness for my Honda and bridge the connections to the harness included with the radio using a soldering iron. The only gripe I have is the fitment between the volume knob and my frame for the dash kit. The knob is small and scrubs against the frame, which made it difficult to adjust the volume at first. It seems to have work in / I got used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Bought this unit for Apple CarPlay thinking it has more features than my Apline unit. I was wrong. Apple CarPlay does not work wired nor wireless. iPhone 16 pro running current update. Tried multiple usb-c cables to no avail. Before someone says I didn’t use an official Apple branded usb-c cable, the cables I tested work fine with my Alpine ilx-w650. All of them. I tested a Samsung s20+ to see if android auto would work. You guessed it, no it does not. Wired and wireless both do not work. I’ll admit my s20+ isn’t running the latest version of android, but I don’t use this phone anymore and didn’t buy this unit to use with Android Auto. Screen doesn’t lag as much as I thought it would. This exceeded my expectations. Picture quality wasn’t bad either. Not the best, but again not the main reason for purchase. It turns on, so that’s a plus. I liked this unit because it has a physical volume knob, but Apple CarPlay doesn’t work, which is a bummer. This unit is light. Feels as though it was made of double layered tin foil and paper plates. Not the reinforced fiber paper plates, but the really flimsy kind. What did I expect for $100? I expected this to work as described. It did not. I should have just bought the Atoto brand like everyone tells me to. If you buy this unit anyway, good luck. Maybe I just got a bad one.

Just installed one of these in a Ford E-350 and it works great. Fits just about right in a double din kit, but it does take a while to turn on. Hard to judge the direct sound quality because the speakers certainly need replaced, but picture quality is great and touch response is quicker than you'd expect. Fully featured audio processing for a cheap double din, couldn't get everything to work right but could have been user error. All in all for the price I'd be happy enough for a basic install, not too sure how it would hold up in car audio build.

Its cheap and it relies on your phone, a thumb drive or the radio to make music. Runs linux instead of android, and comes with Carplay and android auto. Honestly, it was exactly what I wanted. You will need harness adapters to connect to your car, antenna and native USB ports (which you can use to connect your phone, or you can also use Bluetooth, which works well). It does come with a reverse camera, but have not installed that yet. There are also ports for other cameras which I intend to explore. Note that this is not a standalone device, it does not run android, it does not have its own GPS antenna or sim card. If you do not have your phone with you, no maps etc. Just being clear about it; for me none of this was an issue, instead I wanted this more antiquated approach. Installation took about an hour for just the head unit; but I did a bunch of research to be ready. Screen is sharp and you can adjust brightness etc. If you research online you can also get the code to change settings beyond those in the control panel. All in all super pleased. Easy to use. Wireless connectivity. Have not used the radio much, but sounded great in my tests.

This is a value to freshen up an older car. I have a gen 2 nissan frontier and this head unit really restored my love for it. the apple car play is wireless! it feels so modern and has a lot of modern features. and at this price point you really cannot beat it. there are a few glitches and flaws with it though. the car play home screen does jot always stay up. the display sometimes just shows the clock… which can be annoying because it seems to do it randomly. sometimes when not in carplay, it can be glitchy to navigate the menus and the options are lacking. the screen is not great with polarized lenses. i have not had an issue with other head units, but on this one the screen seems to be affected greatly. the brightness is not great in the day and then it does not have a setting to turn it down much at night from what i found. In other words, it stays daylight bright even though your headlamps are on. Those are my biggest gripes with it, but for the $100 i paid for it, i doubt i could get a better unit.

Got it installed on a 2010 Toyota Corolla, and it’s been awesome! The screen is bright, colorful, and way better than the dull, dim ones you usually see in many factory setups with Android Auto/CarPlay. This one is pretty fast too—boots up in about 8-10 seconds from off (and it's fine, usually merging traffic, or using the reverse camera and that get's working instantly). The Wireless CarPlay kicks in with no lag. You can even set a custom boot logo, which is a cool touch (I got the newer firmware out of the box). The sound from the Toshiba amp is solid—I'm no expert, but it works great for my older car! So far, 100% worth it! I just hope it stays reliable long-term.

PROS: Flawless wireless Apple-play Experience!!! Price!!! Does not freeze!! Powers speakers nicely!! Great sound quality!! DSP Equalizer!! Subwoofer output works good!! CONS: Comes with a vehicle specific plug that is already connected to stereo harness so it must be cut off in order to install your vehicle specific adapter harness!!! Therefore no wiring diagram except for the extra accessory wires that are not hooked up Make sure to use solder seal connectors or solder with shrink wrap to get a good firm connection OR you may experience the stereo constantly restarting as I did when I did not use solder seal connectors at first Screen mirroring works some of the time but sometimes freezes, but I’m assuming this is due to me having an iPhone and I’ve never had very good screen mirroring experiences with anything using my iPhone. Androids will probably work better with screen mirroring on those stereo considering Android is based off Linux, unlike apple IOS

Connects, when I go to click on anything like open youtube music it closes andriod auto and says connection lost. Very frustrating.

Actualizacion: Acaban de lanzar una nueva version de Firmware que permite modificar la imagen de inicio bootlogo con la marca del carro eso le da un plus.

Fast shipping easy to install but when it is connected with wireless Android auto there is lacking when music plays even though there are no notifications that come on the phone when listening to only radio stations there are no lacking or sound loosing
