Rit Dye – Liquid Fabric Dye for Crafting, Clothing, and Décor – 8 oz. Bottle – Black (Gloves Included)

This was my first time purchasing and using Rit Dye. I ordered the color Aquamarine! I love how the pieces turned out. This dye can transform any old clothing that may have gotten stained or ruined in the wash, or the color has simply faded. All of these pieces were previously white. I would recommend watching a video on how to properly use it, based on the type of fabric you are dying. I think this is a great alternative for reusing clothes and reducing waste. I was originally going to donate these clothes, but found a new use for them after discovering Rit Dye. Although it is pricier on Amazon (it’s about 50% cheaper at Hobby Lobby), it is still a great product! To add, I dyed all of these pieces with one box of Rit Dye. I’ve washed the bathing suits, i’ve worn them in chlorine, and the color is still intact. 10/10 recommend!

Love these dyes. I had to wash it with dark colors for like ten washes before it stopped bleeding though.

I wanted to dye some white caps I had so I gave this a shot. I was looking for more of a FDE color but this one was close enough. I filled one side of the sink with hot water and half the bottle and let the caps sit in it for about 20 minutes, stirring the caps every 5 minutes. Then, I rinsed them with cold water and let them dry. They turned out really nice. The color was a tad more coppery than FDE but overall, I am satisfied with both the color and how quick and easy the dying process was.

I hadn’t done a dye job in quite some time . First off make sure the materials you are dying are for the correct dye. They make dyes for cotton and they make it for synthetic. The coverage is perfect, one bottle did a pair of cotton shorts and two cotton pull over tee shirts. They came out awesome. Did my dye job in the sink and rinsed them in the sink. The last rinse I did in the washing machine. The cloths came out prefect. No bleeding of color. Rit is great for dying and was really easy to use. I also used the color protection solution to help keep the new color in the material. AAA+++

Let me start by saying my items were white, the dye color was black, I used hot water in a 5 gallon bucket, and I followed the instructions to the letter. That being said, my expectation was "dark gray". For the first 10 minutes of stirring, I resigned myself to that expectation but as I returned every 10 minutes for an hour to stir more... I noticed that the deep gray was certainly becoming black except one item that looked a deep plum color. After rinsing and a hand wash, I had hope that I would be pleasantly surprised. After a final wash however, everything did come down to a deep gray and the plum colored item settled into a muted purple. I'm okay with all of this. I dropped one star because the results weren't black. But I'm alright with the result and knowing what to expect, I probably would use the product again and would probably recommend it to others with the caveat.

It made my item more white but didn’t get rid of any of the sweat stains etc didn’t really dye my item more made it a little brighter. Didnt really work as intended

The dye arrived with no delivery delays, and sealed. No gloves though. Great rich color too! My jacket will look great!

dye faded out after 4/5 washes but i just reapply to my work uniforms for a quick refresh, im sure using the correct sealing method to lock it the dye works wonders too but i dont mind reapplying

Works great-I fill the kitchen sink with hot hot water, 1/2 a bottle of this dye and a squirt of dish soap and I was able to dye 5 shirts, a light jacket, 2 long dresses and a tote. I rinse them in cool water until the water runs clear and then let them dry and I can throw them in with the regular unsorted cold-wash laundry the next day. The color is a bright apple green on cottons and a more muted sage on non-cotton fabrics. Rit's been around since I was a kid in the 80s and it still works if you want to dye your clothes different colors for more longevity/coordination. I get so bored of my clothes and this is a cheap solution!
