ENGINEER PA-21 Universal Connector Crimping Pliers, 175mm, Made in Japan

As the title says, these crimpers are more than adequate pinning out 15AWG cable. I couldn't have been happier with the performance of the PA-21 crimpers. I have a pair of ATX crimpers I purchased years ago that did 1 of five crimps okay. But they simply don't work well enough for my needs, so I picked these up with some hesitance as they are meant for 18AWG cabling. I'm using MDPC 15AWG hookup wire. Thankfully these crimpers work to 2.5mm overall thickness so they do work with the MDPC 15AWG as the overall thickness of it is 2.2mm. It's a two step crimping process, but it's much sturdier than your standard ATX crimping process. I crimp the wire crimp first and the insulation crimp last to secure it to the cable. 27 pins for my EVGA 24pin cable and only messed a couple up on 2 pins that I had to redo. Couldn't be happier with the performance of these crimpers over my old pair.

These are far superior to the 20 to 30 dollar range ones. If you want good crimps that hold, then you'll be glad you didn't get the cheaper tools. I tried a cheaper one first and then had to get these because the cheaper one just didn't work. The Engineer worked like a dream compared to the Iwiss (and the Iwiss was useless for most barrels). These also come with great instructions giving the beginner much more info in how to crimp these kinds of connectors. One thing, the sizes of connectors these work on is fairly limited, and for me, the pa-21 turned out to be more for smaller barrels than what I needed to crimp, so you may want to go to Engineer's web site before you purchase and look at their guide on how to pick the right size ranged tool.

I crimp a lot of JST Type H Series XA terminals, and have the manufacturer's $600 crimpers, as well as Tyco equivalent crimpers. The PA-21 works far better, easier. It does require two crimps for one terminal, but it's so much easier to do, and so far I have not had any terminals bend the way the official crimpers will if you don't get the terminal placed just so. Now, to get my company to buy me a pair for work....

I've been looking for an affordable crimper that works on Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 connectors, and this does the job nicely. Very precise, well-built tool, that makes good, solid crimps. You need to crimp the conductor and insulation in separate passes, but it works better than any alternative I've tried, and I just can't justify the cost of Molex's own crimping tool for the relatively small number of connections I need to make. Note: this review is for the Made in Japan PA-21.

Work like a charm and give professional crimps on Mini-fit Jr and Micro connectors. Much better value than the “official” crumpets too. Quality seems to be top notch too - these are not “cheap” crimpers- I have no doubt I will never need to buy another pair.

Very consistent at making crimps. Silicone grips feel interesting in the hand, but are comfortable and semi-soft (almost too soft). I can tell this tool is from a different tool culture than here in America (Japanese brand), but I can also tell that it's very high quality - you can't really make a set of hand crimpers better than this if you tried. No corners cut, anywhere. I certainly paid for that quality, but when you want your work to be reliable, you have to get quality tools.

There are a huge amount of molex pin crimping tools available. Most of them have more appealing features than this one...like ratchet action or thick jaws. Here's the thing though, the Engineer PA series just work. I have had a couple of other crimp tools, but quite often you have to recrimp and if you're doing a decent amount of wires you can waste a lot of pins. With this crimper, it's just one crimp and done for each wire. It just works like you would expect a crimping tool to work.

This is exactly the tool I have been after. I haven't been able to find a tool to crimp a specific type of terminal I use regularly but this has worked a treat. Basic easy to use tool allowing for perfect crimps.

今まで、端子の圧着作業は少し行う程度だったのでこういった専用工具は使用せずに汎用の端子圧着機などで代用していましたが、大量に作業をおこなうにあたり専用工具のほうが良いだろうと購入しました。 結果としては、もっと早くに購入するべきでした。 圧着した箇所の仕上がりが段違いでかつすごくきれいに仕上がります。 別に表に出るものでも、ジロジロ見られるような箇所でも有りませんが、きれいに圧着されていると気持ちは良いです。 また、作業スピードが格段に早くなり大量の作業も苦になりませんでした。 最初は少しコツが要りますが、慣れの範疇です。 やはり、専用工具って必要だと感じた器具でした。

...und hier bekam ich, was ich vom Werkzeug erwartet habe. Verarbeitung ist sehr gut, die Aussparungen sind einwandfrei gearbeitet und was noch wichtiger ist, sie macht das wozu sie bestimmt ist. Kontakte crimpen und das mit Bravour. Hatte von Engineer nichts anderes erwartet und wurde schon mit der PA-09 absolut positiv überrascht. Der Gelegenheits/Hobbyanwender ist mit dieser Crimpzange und wie in meinem Fall bestimmt für Molex Pico Blade und Mini Kontakte bestens beraten und ich habe viel Lehrgeld in angeblich ach so tolle Crimpzangen zahlen müssen. Mit knappen 43€ immer noch ein Schnäppchen wie ich finde, denn professionelles Crimpwerkzeug kostet meist mehrere hundert Euro. Hier ist "Genusscrimpen" angesagt, erst die Litzenklemmung, dann ganz genüßlich die Kabelklemmung und es macht Spaß, weil das Werkzeug funktioniert. Absolute Kaufempfehlung !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are the best crimping pliers I have used. They are exteremly precise as the jaws are very narrow. This enables you to crimp very accurately. The lack of a rachet allows you to apply just enough pressure to make a perfect crimp. I have now used them for dozens of crimps and find them very comfortable to use. Make sure they are the correct size for the crimps you are going to use as there are different pliers in the range for other sizes. Highly recommended.
