I previously had a back brace and it would keep folding over and coming loose. It was not providing good back support so I wanted to upgrade to a better back brace. I usually wear this when I am lifting weights. This brace is significantly better!! It is way more stronger such that is provides much needed back support. It is made of a stronger material so that it does not bend when I bend over (it says flat). I prefer the multiple straps as it provide better support. In addition the lumbar support is really nice and it is also removable. Overall a great product!

Bought for use after back surgery , works great . Size is good for med person to a larger person. Comfortable to sleep in . Best thing i bought . Had back pain for 20 plus years ,just had 3rd back surgery and this brace is my savings grace . Supports you back if worn right which is right at the top of your hips. Im 5'6 170lbs and it fits great easy to use . Its bigger than I need but you just wrap it more around you giving you a better support.

By now, I have already tried several different brands and gadgets to remedy my growing back problem, and this product is one of the few that actually helps. I currently work 10+ hours a day in a standing environment, lifting and placing objects of moderate weight (think 5-20 lbs) so I need a product with great support that was comfortable enough to wear 10+ hours. I found the quality and the build materials to be great, on par to the one you can find for double the price at the local drug store in the same type of blister packaging. When worn, the product felt comfortable and provided the support I was looking for. (The pressure insert that was included seemed a bit gimmicky as I did not feel any benefit leaving it on or off but who knows, it may help others...) The main elastic band is strong and firm and the Velcro grip is generous. The side support band does its job well in providing additional support, but there are less Velcro grip and I can see the possibility of the sides wearing out from daily use, which may lose the ability to grip in the future. But as this is currently pure speculation, I will not deduct a star unless this becomes a problem in future updates. The only part, this product did not live up to my expectations, is the duration that I can keep this on. When worn after around 6 hours or so, I start developing small "welts" around my waist that I usually get from wearing something too tight for too long from irritation and poor circulation (yes, I have sensitive skin). So I figured either I was wearing this too tightly or I was doing something else wrong. I tried wearing it loose, under my clothes, over my clothes with pretty much the same results. You would think there is something wrong with me, no? Well, it turns out some of the other similar products I have tried, does not do THIS to me, though they have other more fatal flaws. Regardless of the reason, I do know that as long as I only wear it about 4-5 hours a day with a 15-20 min break with it off until the next 4-5 hour session, there are no problems. For now, this makes it inconvenient for me to wear this under my clothes, but other products in this price range had far more fatal problems with questionable designs and or poor construction. I have not abandoned my search for the "perfect back support", but for now, until I find that mythical product, this is the best I have found (in this price bracket) and I have no problems recommending this product to my fellow friend and family (which I have done). -I have found and paid for this product and was not in any way compensated for this review. I only wish to share my discoveries and good experiences along with the bad ones you should avoid. Hope this helps some of you.

About 30 years ago I had my first sciatica attack. I got off a very long international flight and had severe pain from my back down my right leg. Walking was only acomplished with major pain. Healing took several months. From time to time since then the condition returned. Then about one month ago I was hit again. I went on Amazon and found the Modvel Back Brace. The brace arrived the next day and I put it to use. What a relief. I recently had a 38" waist but with some diet my waist size is now 33". I found this large size belt to be a perfect size to fit under my 34" pants. I had noticed without the belt my pain would shift through the day from manageable to nearly unmanageable. With the belt I stabilized my back and within about 2 weeks I'm able to walk cautiously without the brace. I use it for yard work and times when I expect to be on my feet for any longer period of time. I hope with continued cautious use of the belt I can return to nearly normal activity within the month. Thanks for a GREAT product that has been a very large help in reducing my sciatic nerve pain. I am 70+ years old.

This back price seems more heavy duty than most any other one I’ve ever had. I usually buy them at one of the pharmacies local to me, but I decided to order this one from Amazon. Modvel Is a company I trust because I have a couple of their knee braces already and I really like them. Just like their knee braces this back brace is high-quality. When I put it on, I pull it tight and it has Velcro to hold it up. Then there are a set of secondary straps that you pull around to tighten it up even more. It stays on all throughout the day and is comfortable. It has a removable pad in the back, which I just leave in there. It’s simply Velcros in and out. Another high-quality item from Modvel that I highly recommend

Fit is not as good as I had hoped but is as supportive as previous other belts I have used. I am never sure how often and long to wear these as Docs don't want it to be all the time. I wear it primarily when I am doing some moderate lifting around home and garage and try to avoid the heavy stuff all-together these days (old and retired). Want to avoid the big blowout injuries. Been there done that!

The XL size matched what the Sizing Chart said it would accommodate for waist measurement around navel height. The materials and construction are high quality. Impressed with this product. Feels very supportive and reduced lower back pain while worn. Exactly as expected. Small pad is held on with Velcro and easy to relocate to change where slight pressure is concentrated, or it can be removed entirely. Recommend to buy this if you have lower back pain or weakness.
