Love this puck screen
I've been using this screen for 4 months and it's still unclogged and working perfectly for me. It's super easy to use and keep clean. Very high quality craftsmanship (as is expected from Normcore) with precision holes that result in excellent pucks - and more importantly lovely espresso. Helps keep my group head nice and clean.

My favorite puck screen
I bought 5 different types of puck screens to test them out, and this one for sure my favorite. I like the design because it’s easy to rinse out unlike the mesh screens, and it doesn’t delaminate like other metal screens that are essentially two pieces glued together. This one is solid, and works very well. It’s worth paying a little more for something that works. It fits perfectly in my Breville Touch Impress.

Thin, strong, quality
I have multiple puck screens and this one is my favorite. Because it is so slim, I have no concerns about it soaking up too much heat or taking up too much space that would require a smaller dose. I grind and dose the same as always and throw this on top of the puck. I use it mainly to keep my shower screen clean, which it does a great job at that. Despite how thin the puck screen is, it has held up well and is easy to clean. It seems very durable. A few times I have overfilled my basket and wasn't able to lock in the portafilter, but there was no damage to the puck screen like I have seen on cheaper screen. I like that the screen is magnetic so I am able to use a magnet to retrieve the screen before knocking the puck out. Overall a great value and very happy with this purchase.

Great so far!
I’ve only been using it for a day, so I will probably be back at some point to update my review after I’ve had and used it for a few months. Working good at the moment. I recently upgraded to a Pesado high diffusion shower screen for my Breville Barista Express and espresso grounds were constantly getting stuck in the slots and clogging the water flow. After cleaning and reinstalling a few times, which was a hassle, I finally decided I needed to get a puck screen. I picked this one because it seemed to be one that espresso lovers on Reddit recommended, and I am happy with this purchase. Super easy to clean and is keeping my shower screen clean which was the main goal. Seems to be sturdy relative to how thin it is. I like it because I finally got my extractions dialed in and I didn’t have to change anything when I added this puck screen to my current process. My machine is still producing great espresso and is staying clean!

Much better than 0.8mm version
I started my puck screen journey when they first became popular, using a thick wire mesh screen. I liked how it kept my group cleaner, but I hated that it took up so much headspace - I had to reduce my dose by around a gram to accommodate the thickness of the screen. I few months ago I switched to Normcore's 0.8mm screen. I hated it. It didn't distribute water evenly through its honeycomb structure, leaving marks on the top of the puck beneath the holes. And yes, I had the screen right side up, with the side with the holes facing up into the group. The 0.8mm screen was was also hard to remove after brewing. I love this 0.2mm screen. It gives perfectly even water distribution. It is easily removed using suction from your palm. Although very thin, it is also quite rigid, and I expect it to hold up well with wear.

Love it
I love these things, they are very thin and durable, function as advertised and fit my 54mm Breville portafilter. They don’t clog up and are easy to use.

Works as Described
Works well, seems to keep the coffee grounds from getting up in the machine quite as much. Not life changing, but it does a little bit. Fits my Rancilio Silvia perfectly. No noticeable effect on the espresso for better or for worse.

High Quality Puck Screen, but Cleaning Takes Extra Effort
The Normcore 53.3mm Puck Screen (0.8mm thick) is very well made and feels like a premium product. The fit is excellent, and it helps distribute water more evenly during extraction. It has become a useful addition to my espresso routine and appears to be built to last. My only downside is that it's a bit difficult to clean. The small recessed cavities in the mesh tend to trap fine coffee grounds, so it requires more effort to rinse thoroughly compared to simpler designs. Regular soaking or using a brush helps, but it's not as quick to clean as I had hoped. Overall, the quality and performance are excellent. If you don't mind spending a little extra time on maintenance, it's a great puck screen and a worthwhile upgrade for your espresso setup.

Here’s a puck! There’s a puck! This is the Puck Puck !
This puck screen has been an excellent addition to my espresso workflow. Although it is the first one I have tried, I am impressed by the difference it makes to the extraction process. The screen distributes water evenly over the coffee bed, which helps to prevent channeling and results in a more balanced and consistent shot. I have noticed that the puck remains more cohesive after brewing, making it cleaner and easier to knock out. The build quality feels sturdy and well made, and it fits my 53.3 mm portafilter perfectly. The only minor challenge is removing the screen before knocking the puck into the box. This seems to be a common experience with puck screens in general rather than a flaw of this specific one, so it is more of a learning curve than a drawback. Overall, this tool has noticeably improved my espresso preparation. I would recommend it to anyone looking to achieve greater consistency in their shots and improve their overall coffee experience.
