Herding Cats: A Sarah's Scribbles Collection Review: Very Funny - Very Funny Review: Very Encouraging! - I don’t read many cartoon books, but the title caught my attention because I’ve been known to use the phrase, “It’s like herding cats!” I really enjoyed the cartoons. I found myself thinking, “she’s not wrong” throughout the book. When I got to the end and saw all the writing, I almost didn’t read it, but I’m glad I did. Sara gives lots of encouragement to young authors and artists. To me, that was the best part.

Great comics, great artist, excellent material.
Sheer excellence. I've bought every comic book Sarah Andersen has made and have followed her on media platforms for years. I am biased. Herding Cats has a lot of references to 2016 and 2017, but the new material is as wonderful as always and covers a good portion of the book. I shared this with my household who don't keep up with the weekly comics but have read the other sarah andersen comic books that I have. It was a joy to see them giggle as they read through the book and found their own favorite comic. Sarah Andersen's work is a wonderful depiction of the emotions, trials, and joys that young adults of this millennium feel: exploring liberal problems with humor and graceful dishevelment. I recommend it to anyone who needs to smile.

Herding Cats: A Sarah’s Scribbles Collection (My Kindle Review)
The third entry in Andersen’s scribble-y series bring more comics that still show plenty of relatable and funny stories, with even a two-part lesson on how to find creativity as an artist. Don’t worry, there are cats in it. B+ (83%/Very Good)

Wholesome fun
The first 75% of this book is what you’d expect. Silly comics, all funny, all charming. I loved all of that. If you liked Oddball, you’ll love this. The last 25% is called “Making Stuff in the Modern Era: A Guide for the Young Creative”. It’s a clarion call to the creative voices waiting to be heard, in danger of being silenced. It’s more a mix of comics and text, and honestly, I liked that part a lot better. She talks about the growth of the Internet from something where people went to have fun, to something where, more and more, people go to induce cruelty. Yes, she points out that for some groups, this is not a new thing. She talks about the artist's inner critic and how our judgment of what is good is always just one step ahead of our current skill level. She’s not wrong. She just puts an interesting, and in the end wholesome, encouraging, and upbeat.

Great! :)
This has cool purple fuzzy stuff on the cover! I loved this! The (dark, sarcastic) humor is right up my alley and I love that a lot of the panels are about anxiety. Also, it has a lot of "be yourself" positivity and seems like it would be a great thing for teenagers who aren't all shiny and happy types. There is an awesome section at the end that talks about online bullying and criticism. It's an encouraging ending for young artists not to give up. I have anxiety, so I could relate to the humor about it and loved the saltiness. There was just so much win.

In an undeniably stressful time where a cloud of anxiety hangs over us all, another Sarah's Scribbles new book is the absolute perfect antidote, and not in the least because Sarah Anderson makes so many comics about dealing with her own anxieties. "Herding Cats" is an absolutely delightful blend of recent greatest hits, brand new comics, plus an open letter at the end that anyone who likes to create will be able to take to heart. Fans of her popular webcomic will be absolutely justified in their ecstatic scramble to get their own copy of this latest collection (speaking as one of said fans, I know that I won't be wasting any time time when this finally hits the shelves).

This short book is a collection of funny and often relatable scenarios. I liked the art and also the advice on how to navigate your life and career as an artist. Looking forward to the next one!
