Dawson's Hot Sauce Original Hot Sauce, 155 ML

Found this sauce from Hot Ones Season 5. Creamy, smooth, tangy. The spice is delayed but potent. Highly recommended for burgers, wings, tofu, etc. I love the simple ingredients and the elegant presentation. Genuinely good sauce. It is quite expensive for what you're getting though. This isn't a lot of sauce and, with how good it is, you'll want to use it all the time, though its thickness lends itself to conservative application. I would recommend this to somebody who has a line-up of hot sauces and wants to give this a place in that line-up. If you cycle through hot sauces one at a time, this is a bit pricey. I don't regret purchasing this at all.

Like a lot of hot sauces, Dawson's original uses habanero peppers so it's got heat that hits the front of your palate but doesn't have a really long burn. The ingredients aren't extraordinary- habanero, olive oil, vinegar, garlic, and sugar- but the flavor balance is wonderful. It pairs well with many different foods. It delivers a nice level of heat without scorching your taste buds. My only gripe is that a 5 oz. bottle typically costs $14-15...but it's still a staple in my fridge.

This sauce is really good and has good heat. This is my first sauce ive bought like this besides the usual Louisiana hot sauce and such. And i must say i was suprised by the sweetness of it but it was a good sweet to compliment the heat. My only issue is the price. drop the price some or give us more than just 5 ounce bottles for the price listed.

Not many sauces with this much heat that still taste so good. Hands down my favorite sauce

The flavor IS a little different but not by a lot. BUT if you do not want something a bit new tasting, go back to the other off the shelf stuff that are all very familiar and "safe". Dawsons still has the habanero pepper hot sauce as the primary flavor. Still has the vinegar tang, although NOT as much as the regular store stuff. I like that. you are getting more real ingredients besides a lot of vinegar, water and salt. I am always looking for new and tasty sauces to add to foods and dishes, and this does not disappoint.

The flavor is great. One of the better hot sauces I've ever had. But it's very expensive for what it is. There are many other sauces that are nearly as good for a third or a quarter the price. It's burn is less than I was expecting (often to get that great pepper profile the heat gets intense.) Which is fine because it's just so tasty. -I'll probably buy more, but it's a little too expensive to be an every day condiment

This is a really really nice habanero based hot sauce...lots of flavor and a reasonable amount of heat...so far, great to add to eggs, soup....Yes, it's a premium price, but it's a specialty item, and as I understand it, this is a small scale operation...not Cholula, which is pretty good, but not on this level(and different peppers). If you're into enjoying good hot sauces, and can spend the money, I'd recommend trying a bottle :-). -The wax is annoying...the sauce stands just fine on it's own merit.

The item was delivered damaged. The entire bottle was shattered.

This could be quite a nice sauce if it wasn't so sweet but even if it was less sweet there are much better hot sauces for the price, so I won't buy it again. Making something so sweet that's intended to be used on savoury foods seems counterintuitive, as it significantly limits what foods it tastes good with - removing some or all of the sugar would make it more versatile in my view.
