Be carefull of scammers
few random info i want to share this is made for 24/7 use. I brought 20TB for cold storage but the ideea is that if you buy it to play off it or few times per week use, then you are risking to damage it since it's not made to turn off and turn on, that is the Green one (baracuda) for, and the blue (sky something bird) is made to also go 24/7 but that one is for video registration and not play data. Aka you need to chose based on your reason to buy. Like the Exo, those are over kill unless you do need for a company. Also very noisy. The pro is better then the non pro so i will say it from now that if you just want a temporary HDD you are better to get an ssd or the firecuda (a combination of ssd and hdd). This unit has better tehnology to survice. even if you use it once per month or less, ensure you do use it more then 2 times per years since the lubrifier might dry out otherwise and you can't open this case unless you have a special way to rebuild it. The noise level is larger because performance and such was chosen over quiteness. and again, the green barracuda is better if noise is an issue. Also the green and the blue are using les electricity while this one uses more, way more. Did you see this one says 7.200 RPM? that is how fast the unit is. Meaning if you see a Iron Wolf Pro that has 5k something, that one is still an iron wolf pro but an older version but maybe it's better for you? Anyways, i mentioned this because there are a lot of mix ups when people buy a 7.200 RPM and get the more older model that is good, but not as good. Speaking of mix ups: be carefull that even if it's new, it might not be new since a lot of scammers are take used ones, use software and such to create false information the hard drive will give, and sell them as New. You then get it, check it quickly, no issues, and that is just because as i said, they do something with it. And then? It breaks, and you find out your product does not even have warrenty. as in, it's very importand who you buy it from, where you are buy it from. The 5 years warrenty and the 3 years data recovery only are valid if it's new, and sold by a Seagate aproved. Aka if you find this pro online, it does not matter if they are brand new, because if seagate did not aprove of the seller and that person sells them, it means that those are either "refurnised sold as new" or stolen ones. Speaking of scammers: buy external hardrive is even riskier since some buy, exchange, then return.... if not even the employee themselfs... and the person who buys it next will be accused of fraud since the check on the hardrives shows it's a different one then it should. Now, when i got the 20TB i was very worried since it came in an brown box, and has just a label?? i filmed me opening <- ensure you are covering everything since any scamer will just accuse you of being the scamer like: exchange new with old, and now want refund/replacement There needs to be a sealed bad that is transparent. Keep that bag very safe since it's anti statick so be carefull to keep it because one mistake and you touch the hardrive and all the data is gone <- wash hands, let them dry, touch something metalic, if you get electrocuted, you just prevented killing your hard drive. Avoid chloding, or anything like that, even rubber (latext) grolves. And again, you only need clean hands, since the anti static gloves are for people who build a pc or similar cases where they know even better. the sealed bag, that should 100% be sealed, as mentioned, it's transparent enough to see through and get the SN (serial number). Before opening the bag, register your device on seagate since that will help you. Why? some of the scammers sell devices (probably stolen?) from different regions and sell it to you but the warrenties and such are region base so it might not be valid just because you are in the wrong region. also, if you register your product, then you film that you have that device, then that you open it, this is further copy of non tempering since the device with the SN on it, is still sealed in the bag, and only open after while ensuring you keep filming since scamers will jsut say you reglued the stiker to an old one <- aka exactly what they actually did. Also, if anything seems off from the start, don't even open the bag. also seagate cs BTW: the registering the product is very important because thiefs exist. You are covered, and most of all, you have verified it's warrenty. also important, is to get a good case for this since it gets easily hot. A lot of people wonder Seagate vs WD vs others. Honestly, the only time it matters is if you know what you are looking for and one or the other, don't have said hdd avalable. Otherwise? there is no difference with the devices themselfs. So what then? it's the warrenty, how long, data recovery (this is why get pro and not the non pro) included for 3 years, and less people online saying how they like WD better when the same arguments and "statistics" exist reverse. Ensure you are verifiyng the hard drive via softwares and such. if you buy the 20 TB or more, keep in mind that a ful test will take anywhere from half a day to 2 day ish. Regarding the case, ensure it's Sata 3.5 inch compatible. Because most of the laptops and such are only 2.5 so don't look just at the price. Also it needs to be SATA, because even if a device is 3.5 inch, if it's not SATA then it's something else and that case is not good for this internal hard drive. Moiser that is to high or to low will damage it. Aka dry lips, or dry eyes, or dry through, do you get what i mean? we too are constantly "wet" but not to the level where we drown <- btw, if you ever jump out from a plain or so, be carefull of clouds since death via drowning is real since everywhere is a gas full of water. And this is where i want to get: storing it. You need to be carefull that it's not to wet or else rush. And i hopeyou always rember the cloud exemple that it does not matter if it's in water or not, water exist in air and that is why you need to seal it if not used. on the same ideea is dust. Also the more you use a hdd the more it vibrates causing damage to itself... well this is why, once again, buy the pro and not the non pro because the pro has anti vibration so you can use it without it wearing itself out. when you plug it in for the 1st time, you will not see the hardrive since you need to open storage and stuff to configurate <- i intentionally did not say all the details so you get an ai to tell you, also yes, it does not need to be paid ai i just want to make sure someone is "helping". also the exFAT means you can connect this driver to anything and it will work. Downside? any issue, like the cable got disconnected, then the hardrive's content get's corrupted. While the other one, NTLF or whatever it's called, is not really for general use, like it might not be compatible with non windows devices. However that one is safer since it does a log of what is going on so it won't forget what you did . Regarding the forget. When you delete files, pc, hardrive, phone, so on, you are not actually removing the file, all you do is disconnect it so that nothing can see it anymore. And once you put new files, those files will be covered and now really removed. Or to put it differently, the data recovery work because your files still exist, but they are pieces and can't be easily found (imagen a glass bowl that shattered and now you need to find everything. and above is also important if you plan to sell the hardrive in case you had private or otherwise information because they still exist on it. Aka fill up the hardrive with junk before selling, plus like this you'll have proof you did not scam. Regarding the format: quick format is quick because it just disconnect the files from the device but the files still exist. A full format, is when everything, every last thing is scanned, as such of course using it for the 20TB will take more then 12 hours, if not way more. Anyways, i hope this helps some people because the 20 TB is not only very expensive, you definitly do want to ensure you know as much as possible how to ensure you can buy this product, mentally and otherwise, prepered since please don't forget. One single mistake, it's gone. This is why it's always better to get spare ones, even if second hand, and any personal folder, once you encrypted, to be in a cloud storage but again, encrypt it, since hackers might "break in" and take your files, crak passwords and zips, so encrypting the file is very important. But otherwise? this 20 TB will be very good for many year to come!

Work well with NAS
Came on time, well packaged. It’s working well with my UGREEN NAS. Slightly noisy when active but not too bad for the size. Storage capacity was as stated. Overall satisfactory

Scam
Total scam. I paid for two 14TB Drives which were listed showing pictures of the latest Seagate model and as apparently having a 3 year rescue service. What I received were 4 TB's yep...4 TB only but on top of that it's old stock not looking like what's on the pictures at all. They have Serial numbers you can type into Seagate's website which confirmed they are out of warranty - that's how old they are and even if the company says that they offer a warranty themselves, I doubt Seagate would perform a rescue service on drives that don't have a Seagate's warranty on them.

Definitely new
So far so good. Both drives were clearly brand new and well packed. Both went through full smart test and had 0hours running time. Currently adding them to the pool. Happy with the purchase 😊

Excellent
These drives arrived a lot quicker than I was expecting which was a welcome change from most retailers, so thanks for that. They have a good reputation but you don't know until your had them for a while, which I haven't. As far as the sound from the two drives, it's not that bad but I do have a dehumidifier in the room as well which is far loader, but you should expect some noise as that's how they work, spinning drives will do that. I have installed them in the new TerraMaster F4-242, which I'm still trying to get my head around but it will take some time, for me to get the benefit of them. Thank You for the excellent delivery and the first-class product.

Excellent drive
To confirm. I purchased a ST12000NTZ01 . This is on the box though the drive label is ST12000NT001 , which the standard seagate model. ST12000NTZ01(the Z) just designates an Amazon exclusive drive and nothing else is different.

1 worked , the other one was DOA
I am giving for stars mostly for the support I got from Amazon customer service regarding my order. I bought two 12TB drives on the 23rd nov during the sale period. I got them on the 15th Dec. I was traveling during that time, but when I got home, I installed them right away in my brand new NAS. Unfortunately only one worked without a problem. The other one was spinning but was not loading and reading nothing. I tried to put in intro a PC and also a 3.5 sata adapter and connected to a laptop. The same problem-it wasn't readable. Luckly amazon customer service undarstood the problem and gave me a refund. I bought a WD drives this time.
