Clearspring Organic Japanese Tofu, 300g

Ever since I tried this tofu, I’ve enjoyed every single bite. It tastes really authentic and is of exceptionally good quality, with an incredibly silky and smooth texture. I find it best to have it uncooked, topped with freshly grated ginger, finely chopped spring onions, and a dash of soy sauce. Alternatively, it works beautifully added to miso soup —however, the limit is your imagination. I can't recommend it enough

This super silky tofu can be eaten as savoury or sweet (I pour some maple syrup and top it with peanut and coconut flakes)

I used to buy Mori-Nu silken tofu until I found these in Amazon Fresh. they cost around 50-60% of Mori-Nu but with very similar smoothness. I'd say its between a soft and firm on the Mori-Nu scale.

Taste is above average, it's firmness (as described) is distinctly lacking. This is a very soft/silken Tofu that makes cooking it somewhat difficult without some time given to preparation. Otherwise it's pretty good for the price.

I used this to make a vegan chocolate mousse. I added cocoa powder and sweetener to the silken tofu, and blended. I added some vegan squirty cream. It was lovely! I’ll definitely buy again. I think this will be ideal for making sauces.

My favourite tofu in the UK, I always have some stock in the cupboard. Organic and made in Japan! Apart from freshly made ones, this is the only tofu I don’t mind eating cold straight from the pack. All tofu can be eaten without being cooked but then it shows the true taste and texture. In the hot weather, try this tofu with a bit of grated ginger (or grated garlic), thinly chopped spring onions and bonito flakes (if you have some), served with soy sauce or “tsuyu” (which you can also buy in a bottle) if you prefer less salt. Also good with tuna in olive oil, mayonnaise and again a bit of soy sauce! In cold weather I like to use this for “yu-dofu”, simmered with vegetables such as Chinese cabbage and leeks, served with tsuyu. It’s silky, very filling but healthy!

The cardboard packaging wasn't easy to open. The contents inside quite measerly. It tasked ok, but had a slightly odd flavour, not gentle and inline with silky tofu I usually enjoy. Perhaps for a niche market.
