Almost good enough
Good mandrel set except for the reamers. The cutting base isnt close enough to the reamer so it won't cut the pen tubes all the way.

Nice mandrel with barrel trimmer. Everything in 1 kit.

Just an Average Kit
The mandrel is straight and measures the correct diameter. The inside diameter of the bushings is too large so the brass tubes can get wedged in. The 7mm drill leaves a much larger hole; the brass tubes don't glue to the material very well because the fit is too sloppy. It is better to use a brad point drill bit. The barrel trimmer seems to work well, no issues cutting harder wood like oak.

Well made complete set .
Good quality set for pen blank turning it is all you need for connect to your lathe . Make sure to get the right one the MT2 is for lathe with 3/4 hp or more the MT1 for smaller lathe machines .

Excellent except for the bit
The set saved me a lot of money and everything has worked well... EXCEPT for the drill bit. If you buy this set, get yourself a proper "pen maker" or brad point drill bit. The one in this set has a completely rounded tip that causes it to wander and drills the hole diagonally. Other than that, it's a good bundle. If they changed the bit to a brad point, I'd give it 5 stars.

Thought this would be better but unfortunately not.
Thought i would wait until I gave this manderal some use before submitting a review. Only after turning 8 pens the manderal will no longer work. The grub screw is made from very cheap metal and now the bar will not sit in the manderal and often just slides out when removing the pen. Quite disappointed with the quality and will be looking at returning this for a full refund.
