Better than other brands of similar types of security bulbs...
These are much better to buy then the cheaper made ones as they tend to be much more reliable. The best part about these ones over other brands is that when the power goes out these are MUCH brighter than any others I've used over the years. With ANY of these type of security bulbs the brightness is ALWAYS only a percentage as bright when the power goes out & they're in battery mode compared to when they're being used as a normal bulb during regular use. These will work perfectly in most lights. They are designed NOT to be used in lights that have brightness settings as if you try the bulb will never shut off. They are also designed not to be used in any light that has another feature with it like in a ceiling fan light. You may find that these won't work in some extremely cheap lights though they will work in most lights/lamps. Again, they will not work in a 3 way lamp just as it says in the instructions. One thing that is kinda nice is if there is a wiring issue in your light it can also cause the lamp to never shut off/go into battery mode every time you try to shut the light off, as I had 1 ceiling light that did this. I took it apart and it was a wiring issue which I would've never found otherwise unless the light failed which technically could've been dangerous! It worked properly again once I fixed the wiring issue. The little sockets that these come with, so you can use the bulb outside of a lamp, work better than I expected & are extremely handy! I live in Maine far from any real towns so we lose power alot during the winter months & even during any heavy storms due to our state having tons of trees everywhere. Branches break killing the power, during the winter months it can happen for weeks sometimes. While these only have power for the 1st few hours they are extremely handy to be able to have a few hours of light when there's no power. They're well worth the money. I bought the daylight version so while they're extremely bright during regular use it does make it so they're brighter than most when they go into battery mode as many other brands don't light up a room AT ALL! These are probably at about 1/2 to 3/4 of their original brightness when they go into battery mode, which is about 50× brighter than most other manufacturers of similar bulbs like these. Some other brands are about 1/4 as bright as even those old cheap battery operated touch lights, which is just horrible when you're trying to use them to see in the dark! For my ceiling lights that take multiple bulbs I replace 1 regular bulb per light with one of these so I have light all over my home when the power goes out. I do recommend that you only use these in lights that are regularly used as it keeps them properly charged as they do seem to lose power if they're not used regularly. I will try to test out more how long they last when not used regularly & if I discover any more I will update my review. I will definitely buy more of these in the future regardless as they work great!!! 👍

Work well, versatile deployment
These are a bit pricey for my scrooge personality, but they are cheaper than other options I looked at. They work very well, as they last several hours on a charge, and they produce a large amount of light--the brightness does diminish over time though, so you will not get the full brightness the entire time you're using them. That said, they worked for several hours while I had to work into the early morning to create a plug adapter from scratch for our generator, so they certqinly did the job. I really like that there are multiple ways to use them, as they can be used in your normal fixtures like you still had power, or they can be portable with the adapters they come with for lamp cords or as a stand-alone bulb. You can even yse them with just your hand/fingers closing the circuit if necessary--that isn't very practical, but it is nice that it at least is a last-ditch option. I also really like that they charge while in a standard fixture socket, so I don't have to charge them separately with any special cords or adapters; this means I don't have to hassle with pulling them out of storage when the power goes out whole hoping they're still charged, as I can just use them daily as a normal bulb and keep them topped off. To that end, I also appreciate that they look like a normal bulb (albeit a really big one), so they don't look out of place when in daily use. The only issue I had was a couple of our socket fixtures seemed to short the contacts on the bulb unless I got it in just the right position, which would cause it to stay on, but that seemed to be easily remedied for the most part. One other thing to note if you leave them in your fixtures for daily use is that you may see them flash back on momentarily when you shut off the switch. I don't think this is a defect of any kind, but rather possibly the way the charging circuit in the bulbs are reacting to them ibeing used and charged simultaneously and then power suddenly cutting out when I flip the switch (like an inductive feedback loop maybe?). Whatever it is, the bulbs still seem to function fine, so it's just something we've gotten used to, and it serves as a reminder that the bulbs aren't normal bulbs (so you remember you have them when you need them during a power outage).

Great replacement bulbs
After two jaxonlux bulbs I bought 2yrs ago failed i bought these to replace them and they didn't disappoint! Worked great and recharged like a charm. I only gave 4 stars because of the previously failed bulbs that stopped charging after years of successful use, otherwise I would give 5 stars. But I read in some prior reviews this may just be an occasional issue and not the norm. The failed bulbs still worked but just stopped holding a charge. Maybe they suffered a electrical surge?

GOOD COLOR and BRIGHTNESS. Lasts 2 to 4 hours. Excellent customer service.
After reading about the different brands of rechargeable lights, their characteristics, their prices, and the customer reviews, I ordered a pack of four rechargeable 9 watt bulbs from JackonLux. Three of them arrived in good shape, but the fourth bulb arrived broken. (The part inside that encloses the LEDs had broken off; you could hear it rattling around when picking up the light. I turned it on, and it did light up, but the "light" inside was rolling around and would not have been safe to use.) I contacted the seller, who responded immediately by shipping me TWO bulbs (a replacement for the one that had arrived broken, and an additional free bulb), both of which work fine. For that, I would rank them as having excellent customer service. WHAT I LIKE • They’re very bright. 9 watts is the equivalent of a 65 watt light bulb. Each bulb provides 850 lumens, so if you put two of them in lamp, they can completely brighten a large room. They’re so bright that, like any light bulb, you can’t stare right into them; you have to look away. • Some LEDs are cool (and their bluish light can interfere with sleep), but the light produced by this bulb is warm and pleasant. So they're nice to use either during the day or at night. • They don’t flicker. • Even when used for hours, like other LED bulbs, they stay cool to the touch. They do get slightly warm around the base; I expect the warmth is from the internal battery, not the LEDs. But it’s never warm enough to be dangerous or to burn anyone. • They’re a novelty, and are fun. It's fun being able to stick the charged bulb in a lamp that's unplugged, and enjoy 2 or more hours of very bright light... as bright as the light from a regular 65 watt bulb... before they finally run out of power, dim and die (and need to be recharged again). • I haven't had any power outages since buying them, but just for fun, I charged them all day in my living room floor lamp, then stuck one of the bulbs in a little bedside lamp, which was unplugged, and turned it on. (I slipped a metal key ring in the prongs of the unplugged lamp's plug to complete the circuit.) • I like running them in an unplugged lamp enough that I’m thinking about taking a classic old lamp, cutting off the power cord, and using it as a wireless desk lamp using recharged bulbs. Most rechargeable desk lamps just aren’t bright enough; these definitely are. • One thing to be aware of is that rechargeable bulbs don’t turn off immediately, if you’ve been using them for a while. If you put one of these in an (unplugged) lamp, leave it on for a while, then turn it off, it can take about a minute for the light to completely fade. I mention this because the first time I tried to turn off the lamp, the bulb didn't go out, and I kept switching it on and off with no luck... it seemed to stay on all the time. But this was because I wasn't giving it a minute or so for the light to actually go off, after turning the switch to off. • One thing I like about these that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is that they're very comfortable... I'd almost call them a comfort light, in the sense that some foods are comfort foods. They feel homey and familiar, in an odd way. It's nice knowing they'll "be there" for a while when the power goes out. COMPARING THESE BULBS TO OTHER BRANDS • Some rechargeable bulbs change from a warm color to a sort of irritating bluish color when they go into battery backup mode. These don’t; the color stays warm. • Some rechargeable bulbs "go dim" during an outage (when running off battery power). These stay just as bright, with good color. • Some complain about poor customer service. My response was the opposite. The company immediately fixed the problem of the bulb that had arrived broken. TWO TO FOUR HOURS OF LIGHT PER CHARGE (OR THEREABOUTS) As much as I like these bulbs, and recommend them, you should be aware that, like other rechargeable bulbs, they only stay lit for a few hours. The ones I've tested have a "life" of 2 to 4 hours, even when they've been charging all day. After passing 2.5 hours or so, they start dimming, as their internal batteries run down. So the last couple of hours of light aren't that useful. They last 4 hours, but have an effective life of just a couple of hours, then start going dim. A bulb that lasts 2 or 3 hours (before the next recharging) can work well for some things. For example, if I'm using the bulbs when the power is out, I might go to bed, read for a half hour, turn off the light, and still have two hours of bulb power left in the morning. Used this way, one bulb can last for several days, because you’re only using it for short time periods at a time. Turning if off (using your regular lamp switch) saves the power for later. But if you need CONTINUOUS power, as when the electricity is out for several days, the 2 to 4 hour battery time presents obvious problems. For a long outage, you'd be better off with a little UPS battery/generator to plug your lamps into. (The generator that I use, put out by Chafon, has 280 watt hours, so can keep a ten watt bulb lit for 28 hours, MUCH longer than the little battery in a rechargeable bulb!) So why use rechargeable bulbs at all? One reason is that when the power goes off, they stay on. You don't have to go wandering around in the dark looking for a power battery or generator. They're a good solution for rooms that only need PERIODIC light (rather than needing the lights on full time) during an outage, and for ceiling fixtures in hallways (which can’t easily be plugged into portable generators, and which don't have to be kept turned on full time). So, yes, I DO recommend rechargeable bulbs for outages, but only as PART of the solution. Once you've made that decision, JackonLux is an excellent brand to go with.

BEST INVENTION EVER!!
I recommend these rechargeable lightbulbs for any one living in an area that loses electricity due to inclement weather. Yes, they work in a space where there is no electrical outlet, they are portable, can be carried room to room or just left in a lamp. My family uses these every time through storms. They are always ready to go because living in tornado alley, we are constantly battling severe which knocks out our electricity for hours at a time. When the electricity goes out, these come on automatically (when they have been in a lamp). We will unscrew them and take them around the house walking with a lit lightbulb in our hand! Perfect for kids or grandkids as they won't be afraid of the dark walking to the bathroom, down steps, looking to find their favorite stuffed toy until the storm is over and the power comes back on. An absolute must!

Control of product
In general, the bulbs are fine. I was hoping they would hold the previous setting after you turn them off, but you have to drill through to the look you want each time. They also do not dim as much as I was hoping for. In general, they work as advertised and were easy to use in a fixture that I am unable to reach the on/off switch without a footstool. For the price, I would have liked better fine tuning.

Power goes out — lights come on!
Purchasing these bulbs have been one of my best purchases. After being without electricity for several hours I decided no more being in the dark for my family. As soon as the bulbs arrived I began replacing bulbs. The bulbs charge while they are on and are fully charged in only a few hours. The next time we lost power every room in my house that has one of these bulbs was well lit. Each time the power has gone out, my house is the only one on the street that has light! These are same size as regular household bulbs, I have had no issue with them fitting in any light socket that I choose to place them. They look the same as regular bulbs in my lights. I have not noticed that they produce any additional heat than any bulb. In addition there are hooks included that can be screwed on the bulb so you can carry it like a flashlight or hang it somewhere if needed. I have recommended these bulbs several times to friends and coworkers and will continue to do so.
