Lowry Solo Manual Microwater
This is a nice looking microwave and it does what it says. It isn't as good as my other microwave, which I had for several years, but for the price I paid I cant complain.

Stopped working after 1 day
Have had to return this for refund. Day 1 it worked fine first three times. On day 2 it wouldn't come on at all. It also short circuited the mains. Sorted that and tried a new fuse and also tried it in another socket; but no it simply has stopped working. Perhaps it is just a dodgy one off the production line but shall find another make perhaps spend a bit more I just wanted a no frills small capacity microwave for defrost, re-heats and baked potatoes.

No fuss...no frills..just does the job
Wasn't expecting much from such a basic mi4cowave but had gotten tired of all the over fiddly ones out there.precise and straight to the point. does the job..It does crackle a lot when the food is warming up and that alarmed me at first.been using for over a week now and I just turn only one dial and that's it...no fuss...no frills..just does the job...

Moisture build up - the extraction fan doesnt work well
Pros: nice simple micowave, easy to understand and to cook with. loooks good.Con: sad to say, the extractor fan is woefully underpowered.do a baked potato and you'll have an ounce of water spread across the bottom of the cooking compartment, inside walls, inside ceiling.Should probably return it, as this isnt acceptable.Product manual mentions russell hobbs, so i suspect that this model is based on one of their designs.

Lack of Interior Space; No Use of Wheat Cushion Allowed; Loud Noise on Closing Door
When my old manual microwave broke, I did my research and was initially very pleased to have found this Lowry manual microwave to replace it. It was important to me that the interior space should be similar to my old one and not smaller, which is why I chose this model, as it had an even slightly bigger interior capacity (measured in litres). Unfortunately, the exact dimensions of the interior space were not available on Amazon.Imagine my disappointment when the microwave arrived and I placed a normal dining plate in it and covered it with my standard size, 28 cm diameter microwave hood: the hood got stuck between door and back of the machine!!!It turns out that although it has slightly more litres than my old microwave, the interior space is rectangular, rather than more square, meaning the distance between door and back wall is smaller than in my old machine. It also means that there is some wasted space to the right and left of the turntable.I cannot use my hood and have been trying to buy a new one, only to find that locally the only size available is the standard 28 cm diameter, and I need a maximum of 25 cm. Not impressed. The second issue I have with the microwave, is that it comes with an extra page (apart from the manual), warning you never to use it to heat a wheat bag (a hot water bottle substitute). This is one of my main uses for my microwave in winter and I feel they should have mentioned that in the Amazon description.Apart from that, it bothers me that closing the door is only possible with a very loud "bang", no matter how you try to ease the door shut. I live in a flat and my downstairs neighbour is very noise sensitive, so I always feel bad using it late in the evening.Otherwise it does what a microwave is supposed to do. Overall, I'm not impressed, hence the 2 stars only.
