A large, fast growing shrub with soft branches, large and soft furry leaves, and scentless, long, trumpet-shaped flowers that are bright red with a greenish base. There are also varieties with pink, orange and yellow flowers and temperatures have an influence on the flower color. Originally native to high altitudes in the Andes between 2000 and 3000 m (6600 and 9800 ft.) from Colombia to Bolivia, it is a popular ornamental that adapts to a range of warm-temperate climates. No growth.
Purchased seeds October 22, 2025. Followed instructions, used a grow light and plant heat mat. No growth as of December 30, 2025. I have grown other trees by seed in the past so I assume these are bad seeds (dried out prior to planting). Disappointing as I was looking forward to at least one seed germinating.

Sadly these didn't grow, not a single sprout. I'm pretty experienced with angel trumpets and even using previously successful attempts, none came up.

difficult to germinate and a bit touchy
These are not easily germinated but I'm no expert. Comes with directions, however, some of the seeds appeared to be damaged and along with my lack of expertise I was not successful. I did get one to send up a timid shoot, branch eventually but then wither and die. Maybe better if one owns a little green house.
