Accordions 1304-RED

I will praise the Seller. The Hohnica 1304-RED is not quality tested before packaging in China. I believe Hohner Accordions are all built in China with German supervision. It is beautiful and loud (see the other Reviews about the issues with volume). My first purchase had no Air Release Button, the bass buttons did not function correctly and the Reed Selector button malfunctioned. So I returned it and ordered another one. On arrival I tested it. All was working fine (Bass is louder that the Treble keys). After about an hour of play the Reed Selectors stopped selecting the White Button. I contacted the seller and they informed me that I was the only one that had Issues with the September 2019 Shipment they received. Hard to believe reading the other Reviews. I am going to buy a used one locally, that I can test drive. I selected this instrument to play at songwriter circles and open mic gatherings (piano are not mobile and electrical instruments are shunned). $600 for a defective new instrument?

The accordion works great. Even though it was manufactured in China, people wishing to buy this one, should not worry. Many items are outsourced to China for manufacturing. It's a lovely little instrument. I bought it so I could practice without hauling out one of my 120 Bass behemoths. It's exactly what I hoped it would be in size. Comes with a great little soft case that has pockets to store odds and ends. Comes with sturdy straps large enough for me (I'm a tall lady, 5' 11"). What I love about it is just about everything. The only drawback (and the reason I only gave it four stars) is the bass overwhelms the keys, so the balance is "off". I believe this instrument will hold it's value, and am happy with it as an investment. I still prefer the vintage models, but unless you are lucky enough to try it out in person, it's very chancy to buy vintage. If I had a child who was interested in accordion, this is the one I'd buy. It's light, playable, and best of all, the three "voices" are distinct. The bellows are sturdy and air-tight and I'm glad to add this to my collection.

I read some bad reviews on the quality of this item that others had received. I don't know what I was thinking when I thought I would have better luck. I mean, if it worked ok, that would be fine, and my review would be positive. But it doesn't. It plays notes when no keys or buttons are pressed. You have to remove a panel to take out a shipping pad on the bass side, which I did. But all the bass buttons were not returning to their up position at first. The mechanisms were dislodged. I got all the buttons lined up back to position, put the panel back on, but still it is playing a chord on the bass side both pushing and pulling without pressing anything. I'm so disappointed. I had purchased a used accordion from a local place and got it home and it fell apart within an hour, so I thought I would get online and just get a new one. Nope, shouldn't have, not this one anyway. Returning for a refund.

It has nice sound.

I wanted a smaller accordion that would fit in the overhead luggage bins on an airplane. This arrived in defective condition. The reed block inside was loose and rattling around, and kept the bellows from closing. The bellows leak air badly. Brass reeds were bent and needed replacing. The voice keys weren’t working. I was traveling and couldn’t return it for warranty repair. Ended up spending $150 on repair and tuning. The repair tech, and my instructor, say the bellows have lots of small leaks. Hohner should be ashamed. Not worth the money.

I bought this and one of the bass reed valves was stuck open, but I exchanged it and the next was perfect.

Some chord buttons were stuck, so and the sound selector is also stuck, so I'm unable to play the keys, it's all stuck on 1 note, I tried to open it and fix it but it's too complicated to understand, but I can only see that there's a metal piece and it's bent
