These sanding discs are our brand of choice in the shop. They last quite a while and work well at removing paint, metal prep for welding, etc.

These puppies take material off great

These are nowhere near the quality of a 3M disc. The red version of these is closer grit to the brown 3M, and the blue is closer to a red. But these melt and are useless in about 10 seconds. Very hard, not flexible, gouge and scratch the material, and whatever plastic material these are made of starts to melt and smear onto your work. Highly recommend against these if you are considering saving a bit of money over 3M. The cheapo "smashed a bunch of vowels together" Chinese brand I got actually work better than these. I don't even think I would strip paint with these so they are all going in the trash. First picture are these on left, right disc in that picture is 3M. Picture alone should tell you everything you need to know. 3M pads slowly erode away exposing new material, they get thinner, and also shrink in diameter as you use them, but constantly expose new abrasive. These just simply stay the same size and melt. Second pic you can see the plastic melted film these leave on the surface, next picture is after I cleaned that surface with the previously and very used 3M disc
