Solid, Practical, and Surprisingly Useful
I’ve had my eye on the Gerber Gear Prybrid for months, and finally decided to pull the trigger. I’m very happy with it—it’s exactly what I expected and works well for everyday use. The tool has a nice weight and feels good in the hand. The blade action is smooth and positive—maybe not silky, but very reliable. I also like the overall shape and the strong belt clip that comes with it. One feature I didn’t expect to use much is the little mini prying tip at the end—it’s already proven more useful than I imagined. It’s not meant for heavy-duty work, but for light prying and applying a bit of pressure, it’s perfect. Blade changes aren’t effortless—you do need to push a bit to release the blade—but that’s a feature, not a flaw. It makes the knife feel secure, and I’m confident the blade isn’t coming out unintentionally. Overall, the Gerber Gear Prybrid is a solid, practical tool. I’m very satisfied and would absolutely recommend it.

Handy little edc tool
The Gerber prybrid is a heck of a little edc tool. The size is perfect for edc use and I've used it alot opening baggies and boxes. The blade is nice and sharp and chugs along with each task I've asked of it so far. Changing out the blade is intuitive and easy. Uses standard utility blades. I haven't used it to pry many things open but it's handled the few I've asked of it.

One of the best boxcutters on the market.
I daily drive this at work. The line cutter lets me slice through plastic packaging without accidentally puncturing the product inside, and the bottle opener is useful once I'm home. Changing the blade is a bit of a pain, and the sliding mechanism isn't smooth at all. It's also a point of failure, as my last one broke when I pressed it down. However, that took about 2 years of straight abuse, so I won't deduct a star. Be aware that the packaging it comes in is a nightmare to open. You're going to need scissors just to get the damn thing out.

Good and could be great.
This tool solves my two main issues with knives and other EDC multi-tools. First, 90% of what I do with any EDC tool is cut cardboard. Which means that my knife or multi-tool is almost always dull. You just cannot sharpen a regular knife enough to keep ahead of dulling it on cardboard. So the Prybrid totally solves this issue with a replaceable utility knife blade so you always can have a sharp knife. Secondly, I'm always in need of something to pry with. And if I try to pry anything with a regular knife blade, sooner or later it will snap off and wreck the knife or tool. Again, the Prybrid solves this issue with a thick, heavy steel prybar tool with a good, sharp edge for getting under edges. I haven't had any issues with the blade lock or blades slipping out. I have to wonder if this "issue" as reported by some reviewers is user error installing the blade incorrectly? That or Gerber has made a design change. Either way, no problem with these issues at all. Opportunities for improvent: 1. Because the prybar tips are angled, they don't really work that well to function as the advertised flathead screwdrive. In a pinch, they are fine, but not very good. 2. What I really, really wish this tool had was both a good Phillips screwdriver and a good, functional slotted screwdriver tool. That would make this tool a 5* tool. 3. The blade retainer requires a tool to change the blade. There's just no way that I can figure out to change a blade without an edged tool to pry open the blade retainer "clip". It's never good to have a tool that requires a second tool for maintenance. Overall, a good, useful tool, but it could be a great tool with just a few mods.

Love it
Honestly I love it. It’s a nice size. Love the color and The pry bar has already come in handy with trim pieces. I do think it is a safety hazard however having the knife packaged in anti theft type plastic. It was so difficult to get the knife out while also having the blade out like that could definitely be a problem for someone who has a little less common sense than me.

blade doesnt stay in
this is a horrible system. i like the thing box cutters like this because i like to keep it in my back pocket. the folding blades are simply not my style. The one I used to use was a husky from the depot but it's been discontinued. Figured I'd try this. For one, I had to look up how to remove the blade. that by itself was a bad sign. The little tab that holds the blade in place, simply won't do it's job when that same tab needs to be pushed out in order to remove the blade. what happens to metal that you bend out multiple times? you guessed it, it won't retain it's shape. So, now I put a brand new blade in and try to cut some cardboard, the blade came right out by itself. So yeah, don't bother with this one.

Nice quality, very hard blade replacement
Nice little knife/ box cutter, but the blade is super difficult to remove without using a screwdriver. The spring metal holding the blade in is too strong in my opinion

Solid box cutter
After reading so many complaints in the reviews, I was surprised with how different my experience is. Fits in my hand well, and has a solid feel and a good grip. The extras are extras for me, like most multi tools, so they are there if needed, but not relied upon. I can't believe how easy it is to change the blade, or just reverse it to use the other end, as that is what most of the complaints I saw were about. The blade slides smoothly and feels secure when locked into place.

100% satisfecho.
