Another outstanding Reolink camera
Presumably you understand the sophisticated features of this very well designed and made AI sensor camera, one of the latest in Reolink's evolving line. One question you may have (that I couldn't find the answer to) is, Yes, it stays zoomed in to whatever setting you leave it. However, it appears the various sensor settings may work on the extended (zoomed out) field of view, not just what you set it to look at (look out you waving ferns, I gotta clip you back.) Another issue for me was having to use this a Long Way from the NVR, via 2 OAPs, it cannot connect to the NVR if it doesn't have the same 192.198.XXX address as the NVR (if your OAPs generate other XXX addresses, your only recording option is on a micro SD card, 256GB holds a Ton of shots even with pre and long after recording, and waving ferns lol.) I don't use the IR or floodlights for night vision. There's a lamp nearby that the camera picks up weak color vision with, it is so sensitive. While it has a very sturdy metal case, I chose to anchor, hide and further protect it in 4" ABS plumbing fittings, which it fits into perfectly (not 3".) Easy to extend the antennas outside the shell with cables here, and Excellent WiFi reception even through the jungle. Also makes a snug, warm home for a few geckos.

Reolink equipment is meant to work well with other Reolink equipment and it does!
RLC-811WA I'm a very experienced user with Reolink Cameras. My dad and I have been very pleased with Reolink equipment over the years. They are hard to beat for Price/Quality This camera is no exception. Works fantastically with wifi 6. My Mom wanted something wireless to monitor her kitty house because she's been battling a skunk eating all the food and tearing stuff up. -If you have a Reolink NVR already setup on your network it will automatically take it over, then change the default passwords, so you will have to set it up through the NVR First and then change the password to whatever you want if you need to run it standalone for a project. (This can be a bit of a headache for someone who doesn't understand what's happening when they try to setup using the QR code and it won't activate.) Tech Skill and Basic Network understanding is required. -No Reolink NVR on network then you can activate it with QR Code in mobile app or software on computer without issue. Reolink Equipment is meant to work well with other Reolink equipment, trying to connect them to other vendors systems isn't impossible but may cause unnecessary headaches.

WiFi
It is a fine camera - well built and durable. But all Reolink cameras (I have seven of them) have quirky WiFi setup issues. You cannot simply connect it to your network WITHOUT first making contact via the CAT 5 hard connection. Okay, that itself is not really an issue, except they donโt explain it in the directions AND, once you establish a WiFi connection and switch from CAT to WiFi, you better move fast to install it. It often drops the WiFi signal if you take too long to get it plugged in again. Then you must start the process all over again, making trips up and down ladders repeatedly. The camera concept and build is great, but this one flaw gets it 4 stars.

Iโm done with Reolink
I own over 30 Reolink cams for home and business. Iโve been buying from them since they only sold overseas. With Every new release the connection gets worse. They are only getting slower every year. I canโt load anything anymore. In an emergency youโll be gone before looking at live view. The only thing Reolink are good for is reviewing the recorded videos. I thought It was my internet for a long time. Until I got introduced to Wyze. I bought the Wyze new release V4 and I couldnโt believe the quality And how fast it loads. Iโm so upset with Reolink because I was a long time customer )Over 7 years). In my opinion, the only Camera that Reolink had made solid and loads super fast was C1-PRO PTZ. Which they have discontinued! I went ahead and bought 16 Wyze cams and buying more. The world is getting worse and California has a lot of problems. I canโt wait on Reolink to fix their software or whatever the issue is. Nothing loads fast, colors are not what I call โTrue Colorsโ so I canโt really tell the skin color of people in an emergency evidence situation. At least with Wyze I can actually see true colors and true impressions of faces!

Great quality camera, easy to setup
Added 4 of these to our Reolink RLK12-800wpt4 NVR system. The setup really couldn't have been any easier. Image quality is great and the FOV is very impressive. The most difficult part of setup was the installation. A little more clarity on the adjustability of the mounting plate would have made the job a bit easier. There is a small hex screw on the mounting plate that seems to allow rotational adjustment, but didn't seem to loosen enough for easy horizontal/vertical adjustment. The cameras are a bit bigger than the turret style cameras that I'm used to, likely due to the 5X optical zoom mechanism. If replacing existing cameras, be aware that the size of this camera could make mounting difficult in tight spaces. I would highly recommend this camera.

Decent Camera For The Novice User
The two images I provided are of actual vandals/thieves trying to break into our mailboxes captured with this Reolink camera. The first image was taken with spotlight enabled with supplemental lighting. Facial clarity seems good. The second image was taken with spotlight disabled without supplemental lighting. The face is too blurred to be recognizable, but their license plate is legible. Both using color night mode. All the images were retrieved from Reolink app at full resolution using โclearโ quality. Iโve been using this RLC-811WA camera for about 2 months now. I have experience with many other more reputable brands of cameras before and I opted for this Reolink because itโs more budget friendly with the features I need. This camera seems decent, but it does have its shortcomings. What I hate the most is when you first open the app to view the camera, thereโs often a delay โconnectingโ or โloading streamโ. This delay seems to vary all the time almost like its buffering. This could be because it connects to Reolink servers before it directs your connection to the camera. I can see how this approach is useful for less technical people since it allows you to view your camera remotely without needing to configure port forwarding or other firewall rules. Iโm more used to the near instantaneous loading of some other brands. Hereโs what I dislike about this camera: 1. This camera is bulky. It seems to be more than twice the size of other cameras. Possibly because it takes more space to make the camera varifocal. 2. Image takes a long time to refocus after zooming. This makes it unpractical to zoom in on suspicious activity when its needed since it would just blur the image for a while. 3. Ipad app doesnโt seem that different from iPhone app. App doesnโt load everything in landscape mode, only when you go full screen on a camera stream. Hereโs what I like: 1. Local control. This would be a dealbreaker if I was restricted to their app and/or forced to connect to a cloud server. This camera allows you to access it via HTTP/RTSP/Onvif if you enable it. The camera loading delay is improved when connecting directly. By default this functionality is disabled which is understandable since itโs more of a security risk for the more casual user who might have it on when they donโt utilize it. 2. Human/animal/vehicle detection seems spot on. Better speed and accuracy than other brands I have used. Hasnโt misidentified an object so far so Iโm impressed by that. Hereโs my final thoughts on the camera. 1. UI and configuration is oversimplified. It lacks more comprehensive adjustments of the image like color balance, exposure, etc. Same with motion detection. Canโt define zones, line crossing, intrusion boundaries, etc. Works well enough out of the box, so I donโt hold it against it since camera is intended for the casual user. 2. Image quality seems decent. Motion blurring is more severe when thereโs too little light so thereโs room for improvement there. 3. Wifi range seems decent. Getting a strong signal outdoors, but there were 3-4 instances where the camera appeared offline when the rest of the network was working seamlessly. 4. Push notifications work well, but it would be nice if they were rich push notifications instead that donโt require a paid cloud subscription. As a workaround, I am having it email an image to a rich push mailbox.

IP Camera!
This camera works great with Blue Iris if properly set up.. Be sure to update the camera's software first thing so BI will recognize it properly. Look at the Reolink website for setup instructions. Turn on higher sensitivity in the settings and set it with Generic/ONVIF video settings. Be aware that it creates large files due to resolution. The factory installed camera software doesn't work well so be sure to update it first! unless updated on the Reolink App. I now have two of them and both work great!

Quality and price
Reolink makes a very affordable product without lacking quality. We've used reolink camaras for over 7 years now and wouldnt suggest any other brand. We have had this camera for about two years and it works flawlessly. Great picture day and night

Clear and High-Quality Security Camera
Like all Reolink cameras, the RCL811 4K 8MP Outdoor Security Camera delivers excellent image quality. The footage is sharp and detailed, making it easy to see fine details. Setup is straightforward, and the camera is simple to get up and running. The night vision is particularly impressive, with long-range, powerful infrared LEDs providing a clear image at night. The 5x zoom works quickly with autofocus, making positioning the camera more flexible, as it can be placed further from the area you want to monitor. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy cast housing and a strong mounting bracket. Overall, a well-made camera that performs very well.

Excellent
This camera is excellent if you have a restricted area to cover. I have it deployed above our driveway. Images are super clear, there's zero connection issues. Its a bit industrial looking if that matters to you. Mounting screws are not stainless, I replaced them.

Convenient IP CAM but image quality is lacking.
Pros - Wifi connection works well. I've installed the camera for 3 months and had 1 drop out so far. Installation was fairly easy and the camera is easily adjustable to obtain the angle that you are looking for. Cons - Image quality is not the best. This camera apparently has 5 x optical zoom however you can see from the attached screenshot directly from the Reolink app, their 5x optical zoom is worse than my phones digital zoom. This car parked outside my house which is about 5m away from the camera just has zero details and appears to be just a smudge in daylight. I am still fairly satisfied with the product due to the convenience, however if you're looking for an IP CAM with good quality imaging, this is not it. Edit: Reolink customer service contacted me after the review to provide support which was nice however I found out myself that the optical zoom was working but hidden in the PTZ menu. It was funny that the CS asked me to update my firmware to somehow magically fix an optical zoom issue. It was through this exercise I found that the camera was set up to auto update however it did not auto update. My feedback was that the optical zoom needs a separate zoom button or work natively with the software. Also something they can do with a firmware update is to increase the quality of the digital zoom image which is the image I've attached. Rating stays the same for me.
