does it work when it's strongly diluted? Is putting 2.5 grams of this product into water really enough?

I ordered this over a year ago.  I didn't reorder, but didn't do a review.  Not impressed.  Regardless of my opinion on the product, all my training through county extension programs is that the user follow the label instructions unless some special circumstance is approved in writing by the manufacturer for a different formulation.

will this benefit a Maple with terminal Verticillium wilt?

the mycorrhozal fungus, should improve the overall health of the tree because it basically extends the root system by 20x.  It also aerates the soil which provides conditions for aerobic bacteria to easier thrive, which if you want to look at it in a good vs evil, aerobic good, and anaerobic evil.

There are some species of bacteria in the Paenibacillus family that have been found to attack certain species of Verticillium. Paenibacillus are facultative anaerobic, which means they prefer aerobic conditions but can also live in anaerobic conditions, but not as efficiently.

It MAY help. it isn't a short term quick fix. And honestly you may be better served to find a healthy maple tree and dig up some soil around it and make a compost tea from that and treat your tree since that should have healthy soil fungus, bacteria, etc that are probably are specific to the maple tree. Chances are you or the previous owner(s) killed the soil biology off. You could also put some of this product into your tea as well. It won't hurt.

Its been raining quite a bit here is it ok to add this to ly vegetable plants even tho they have had too much water from allthe rain?

In order for the microbes to properly settle in the roots and inoculate them, it takes some time. In order to aid this process, if there is excessive rain, it may be best to wait until the rain passes.
