Le Corbusier Oeuvre complète en 8 volumes / Complete Works in 8 volumes

Can't not own this if you can afford one. In contrast with William Burges however, I would much rather own the book than one of the buildings, but what a brilliant sculptor, artist and conceptual planner.

Bought by mistake but well worth it

L’opera é di qualità , versione rieditata con copertine leggere su cartone. L imballaggio insufficiente non ha protetto i libri e il cofanetto che sono arrivati molto rovinati. Ho dovuto restituirli e ordinare di nuovo l’opera sperando su un imballaggio più adattato.

If you are looking at this book, you probably already know that this is the most informative collection of Corbusier's work short of the Corbusier Archive. That said, I won't review the content. I purchased the 'new' (1996) printing from Birkhauser. This seems to be the cheapest edition to be found, and the quality of the paper, images, and text support this. Birkhauser tends to make excellent books (check out the complete works series of Aalto, Herzog & DeMeuron, and Botta for proof), but I'm left a little confused by the modern feel to the paper, which the rustic quality of the image/print. I guess there is something to be said for a mid 1970's slightly yellowing gently read copy. That is if you can find one for less than a $1200. Nevertheless, I highly recommend spending the $400 on this fantastic body of knowledge. You won't regret it for a second. On a side note, Birkhauser's packaging is fantastic: even UPS and my not-so-gentle delivery man weren't able to damage the contents.

Excelent architectural book set for collectible

Colección completa todas las obras de uno de los mejores arquitectos de la historia, en 8 volúmenes ordenados cronológicamente, viene en 3 idiomas: francés, ingles y alemán. Amazon es el sitio donde más barato lo encontré y además me lo traen a casa. No tienes que cargar con ello, y aviso que pesan casi 10 kilos, por lo que es el sitio ideal para comprarlos, no me veía viniendo de la librería con ellos a cuestas. Puedes ver una amplia descripción de sus obras con planos, croquis y fotografías, que te permiten descubrir y analizar toda su trayectoria. Un producto más que recomendable para todo arquitecto y toda persona que quiera aprender de este genio.
