Fabulous book, with pictures, instructions and time frames for everything from vegetables to flowers, gives guidance of how to manage your garden and how to lay out your garden!! Brilliant for a novice like me and with a blank canvas of a garden!

Great book, quite simple to get into with what appears to be a good level of basic details. Enough to get me going in the Garden, but I've bought other books to support it!

Very new to gardening and with a garden which is very bare. I wanted a book to help me start. It breaks everything down for you. It is great for beginners

As a first time Garden owner this seems perfect!! Sections on how to work out what kind of soil you've got, how to build raise beds, how to choose shrubs for year round interest, etc etc. I'm totally absorbed - feel like it's really pitched at my level. Very easy to read and beautifully presented.

Ive bought this as a Christmas 2021 present. However, I have had a look through, I'd say its very, very basic with some good information but probably not enough for the beginner. Plenty of pictures and nicely set out.

This book has sound and appropriate advise for newbies but is never condescending. Lots for long term gardeners to glean as well.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to gardening. So this book is aimed at me. I'm not sure this was really worth the purchase, though. It feels like something I could have read once in a gardening magazine or online. It's not really something I'll come back to for reference. And, it doesn't really get into enough detail to make me feel confident enough to start out in the garden.

Very generic information. It was helpful for building a foundation, but I do not feel like it helped me complete any full tasks in gardening. It is a cute coffee table book though!

As an urbanite out of town who is new to gardening, this book has been an eye-opener, - to learn the basic principles - to learn which tools are needed - to put theory into practice An excellent introduction to gardening. Thank you DK and RHS. (I also ordered other gardening books from you)
