Little Bear Boxed Set: Little Bear, Father Bear Comes Home, and Little Bear's Visit

This was one of my most loved book sets from my childhood. I've read them to my babysitting kids, then my niece & nephew. Now purchased for my great niece & nephew, 3 generations of readers. Such a cute storyline, beautifully illustrated, truly a classic.

This book is perfect to read to a four year old. It explains things in a way that he understands. It keeps his interest. The little bear is exciting to read about. I’m excited for my four year old grandson child to learn to read from this book and can read it to me someday.

My granddaugther and I LOVE reading these stories. We are big fans of the animated series but I wanted her to have the books that the series was based on. She loves for me to read to her about her Little Bear.

So happy with this collection of books, my baby is only 3 months but he absolutely loves Little Bear and I grew up watching the show, so I’m happy we got the books for him :) super recommend

Such a great set! My newly two year old LOVES the little bear show and now loves these books too. It’s a great way to introduce “chapter books” as there are definitely more words than pictures, but he sits and listen’s contently, and chooses these books over every other picture/board book he has. I know we’ll get a lot of use out of them, and I imagine they will be even better as he begins to learn how to read. Highly recommend!

I had these books as a little girl and kept them to give to my grandkids but they were destroyed by water damage. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to find these and be able to read them to my granddaughter and she absolutely loves them. We’ve read them several times over already.

This is a lovely book for children. My kids and I loved reading through. The illustrations of Sendak are as beautiful as ever.

A childhood favourite, love little bear, so honest and sweet, a must have for any family

Drei der Bärenbücher mit jeweils mehreren Geschichten für diesen Preis zu erhalten, behagte mir sehr. Ich lernte diese Bücher vor vierzig Jahren kennen, und mein damals vierjähriger Sohn liebte sie. Jetzt bin ich froh, dass es den Little Bear noch immer für meinen (amerikanischen) Enkel zu lesen gibt. The "little bear" handelt, denkt und spricht genau so, wie kleine Kinder tun. Ein Beispiel: der Kleine setzt sich einen Helm auf und gibt vor, zum Mond zu fliegen. Dort trifft er eine Frau, die seiner Mutter gleicht, in Wahrheit natürlich seine Mutter ist. Die aber tut nun so, als sei sie wirklich eine Frau vom Mond, geht auf das Spiel ein, begrüßt das Kind, als sei es fremd für sie, woraufhin Little Bear verunsichert und weinerlich wird. Natürlich gibt die Mutter das Spiel auf und lässt sofort erkennen, dass der Mondfahrer ja ihr geliebter Little Bear ist. Die Zeichnungen sind sehr hübsch, geradezu realistisch im charakteristischen Ausdruck von Gefühlen, falls man von Tieren wie von Menschen sprechen kann; nur mit wenig Farbgebung, was der Phantasie Raum lässt. Im übrigen sehr bürgerliche Verhältnisse, eine noch heile Welt, deren Aktionen sich ruhig und liebevoll vollziehen, eigentlich so, wie man sich das Leben von Kindern erhofft, die, erwünscht, in Geborgenheit aufwachsen, und mit Phantasie erzogen werden. Von einer solchen Perspektive her sind die Bücher geradezu "unsterblich". Die Bände sind sehr zu empfehlen, geradezu auch für Erwachsene, die sich an das Fühlen und Denken kleiner Kindern auf unterhaltsame Weise herantasten wollen.

I work in childcare and this set of books is not only familiar to me from my childhood, but a well loved set of stories for the children I care for.
