A necessary fitting for your drip systems.
This is a necessary item for drip irritation systems. It will keep your tubing from exploding because of excess pressure and allow water to make it's way through the tubing without problems. I have installed quite a few and they will help your system last longer with a water flow that's easily designed for small tubing. The threads on either side of this device are hose threads not machine threads. So, you'll need to make some adjustments on your water supply. Take your time and make sure you got the right nozzles and you will be surprised by your plants adjustment to having all the water it needs. This type of system will do it.

Necessary device for dripping irrigation system
This device works in my dripping irrigation system. It is easy to install. The water pressure is too high without this device. This is necessary for regular dripping irrigation system.

Understand What You're Buying
An inexpensive pressure reducer for drip piping. I would’ve actually preferred a model with pipe thread rather than hose thread, but with a few fittings, I worked it into my system. I have very high pressure in my sprinkler system (upwards of 80psi), so for the drip zones, I wanted something to step the pressure down immediately prior to the drip piping. These work perfectly. I only give the 4stars because it is plastic and I question the durability…. But for $5/each… who cares. It was difficult to tell if this product was going to work for my application because there seemed to be so many reviews of people who appear to be using this product for the wrong application. Therefore, I wanted to attempt to assist future buyers. A few notes: 1) This product is not meant to be left under a constant pressure load. Meaning, it should be installed on a side of your system where it only sees pressure when you’re actively watering. I suspect most of the failures noted in reviews are people who left it under pressure 24/7. 2) This is the big one: Many reviewers claim that the product doesn’t work because they hooked up a pressure gauge and saw now drop. Their observation is correct, but that doesn’t mean the product doesn’t work. Here is why: This product will not reduce pressure in a static system; it is a dynamic pressure reducer. Meaning, it uses hydraulic friction to reduce pressure. No water movement (static system) = no friction = no pressure reduction. This also means amount of pressure reduction seen will vary with the amount of flow being drawn. Which leads into the next note: 3) The manufacturer isn’t 100% truthful when they say that the product will reduce your pressure to 25psi. The unit is designed to reduce the pressure to that level under a very specific condition (a combination of input pressure and flow rate). However, they do not state what that optimum condition is. The only thing stated is a maximum flow rate of 20 gpm. All I can offer in this department is my observation that this product is taking a 80 psi input with a flow rate of ~1gpm (~100ft of drip piping with 0.9gph emitters spaced @ 18” on center), and there is no adverse effect to the drip piping. If it can work under those conditions, I think it’ll work for just about anything.

Reliable Pressure Control for Drip Irrigation!
I bought this Rain Bird 25 PSI Drip Pressure Regulator to maintain a steady, controlled water pressure throughout the drip lines in my garden, and it does a fantastic job doing exactly that. Excess pressure can easily blow out drip emitters or fittings, but this unit holds the line at a consistent 25 PSI without any issues. It fits perfectly onto standard garden hoses or any other 3/4" male pipe thread connection, making setup completely seamless. Best of all, it seals tightly and does not leak at the connections. I run this regulator as part of an automated watering timer setup, and it has worked flawlessly since day one. It handles the daily power cycles from the timer without any pressure spikes or unexpected drip line failures. Because it has performed so reliably, I have already ordered several more of these to expand and add more drip lines throughout my garden layout. I definitely recommend this pressure regulator to anyone setting up or upgrading a home drip irrigation system!

DONT BUY this Rainbird pressure regulator- leaks 100% of the time (even with teflon tape)! Trust me.
DONT buy this. Trust everyone who is saying they leak, or break and CANT BE RETURNED. I bought 2 pressure regulators because reviews looked good. Installed and they leaked even with teflon tape. Tightened more. They broke. Figured it was my fault. Ordered 2 more (the reviews don't lie, right?!-- installed 2 more tonight. Leak like crazy with teflon tape when hand tight, tried looser then tighter and no improvement. Not my first rodeo. Its the product. AND-- they are non-returnable as other reviewers mentioned. Cant see a way to get a refund or return on this item. Amazon are you listening to all of these reviews? This product is defective and shouldn't be sold or at least make it easy to get our money back that you willingly took when we purchase on good faith. DONT buy the rainbird pressure regulators. I have relatively low well water pressure to begin with but wanted to drop pressure for drip irrigation. This product will just steal your joy and your money.

Seems to do the job
I bought these for my drip irrigation system for my potted planted as it is mentioned it needs lower pressure to work and not ruin the tubing/drippers. For a decently cheap price it is worth that safety/protection!

Not compatible with common watering systems
I expected the outlet to be compatible with Hozelock and Gardinia watering systems unfortunately the thread size is wrong. No problem, I thought, as it can be returned for a refund. Wrong as it came from Europe no return available. So beware before you order.
