The color does NOT match the label. Tap water is testing green blue and filter water is blue. Doesn't match label???

Hi, Elsie. The color results that you are getting are an approximation of what your water sample's pH is. For instance, if your tap tested greenish-bluish it could be that your tap water is in the 7+ pH range. If your filter water tested blue, it could have a pH of 8 and above. The results that you are getting may also be influenced by other factors such as the source water of your area, condition of your machine, and the pH setting that your machine was at when you took the water sample.

Is this good for testing the pH of shampoos and conditioners

can this be used to test if paper is acid free?

There is a pen you can purchase at a stationary shop. It will let you test for acidity or alkalinity.

is there an expiration date on this product where it will not give accurate results? I've tried both liquid & strips & got different results.

Not sure. But there are tiny print numbers at the bottom of the bottle .It may quite be the expiration date. But one definitely need a magnifying lens to visualize it. Hope that help!
