Works to turn off gas at hot water heater
Used to have an on board shut off at my hot water heater in a camper. Works great with tape installed. no leaks and easy to close and open. Fits the 3/8 flare to my hose and the inlet to heater. Solid brass makes it feel substantial and well built.

Slim, in line valve it does a great job.
Valve creates a slim, in line connection that previously took a valve, an adapter, and a nipple. It solved a space problem in the water heater closet.
