In the Footsteps of the Prophet: Lessons from the Life of Muhammad (Audio Download): Tariq Ramadan, Peter Ganim, Audible Studios: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Amazing experience! - If you have never read the seerah of the prophet and are intending to read one to understand what kind of a person he was, this is the book for you. If you have read other seerahs' then you will really appreciate the style of this book due to its beautiful descriptions, essential and analytical notes and comments articulated through the most poetic flow of words, and last but not least; the inevitable feeling and realizations within yourself that this book brings to the table. I thought I knew the prophet by now. I knew I loved, respected and followed him. But this book reaches beyond those feelings and thoughts as mere aspirations and simple efforts. It made me weep, smile and feel his struggles and psycological battles. Tariq ramadan has by no means rejected or ignored any fact nor has he fabricated any scenarios, but it is most clear that the author has put his heart and soul into this book and wrote out of love about his love. I could feel every word. For sure my fav so far. So what are you waiting for? Review: The best biography of prophet muhammad in the english language - I'm always on the lookout for new material about the final messenger. This book is deliberately short and focusses on key incidents or situations affecting the prophet and his community, from his birth and to his death. The factual detail will be well known to readers of standard biographies e.g. Adil Salahi's excellent book from the Islmaic Foundation. But Ramadan's prose adds to the historical facts by bringing out the extraordinary humanity and humility of the man. His portrait is of a deeply committed and passionate person who came from tragic circumstances but yet went on to change world history without becoming embittered or resentful. Ramadan's writing can be a little philosophical or spiritual at times but he explains how the story of Muhammad has lessons for 21st century citizens. There is much to emulate in our own lives and educate both muslims and non-mulsims about misperceptions of Islam. The ending of the book describing the prophet's last and dying days is particularly moving. I was left to cry and to follow his high example.

The best biography of prophet muhammad in the english language

Life-changing
This book is one of the most important books I have ever read. I like to think that it has changed me for the better. It highlights the most fundamental teachings of Islam (which, sadly, have been almost entirely forgotten!), such as love for all creation, forgiveness, humility, equality, and sincerity. For the first time in 21 years of my life, I realised what a sweet and gentle path Islam really is! The style of writing is a bit too academic for me, though. Personally, I would have preferred a more casual approach, but nonetheless I'd say that Prof Ramadan succeeded in getting his message across. A must-read for anyone who sincerely wishes to know more about the most influential figure in the history of mankind - Prophet Muhammad.

Very good book must read
Very well written book catering for all kinds of readers. Nicely departed chapters not in depth like proper seera book but we'll written for children

Easy to follow life of the last prophet
This is an insight into the life of the prophet and the vision for Islam and Muslims. As a western Muslim a helpful aide when reading the Qur'an and placing the very misread/misunderstood verses into context.

Not a biography but a work of theology
Many biographies give excellent and full details of the Prophet's life. This book is different. Tariq Ramadan looks at how the Prophet dealt with unbelievers, backsliding Muslims, Jews and Christians, war captives, women etc, and what he said about them. From this he draws out universal lessons regarding how Muslims should conduct themselves. The book is short, easy to read and accessible without any past knowledge of Islam. I would recommend it to Muslims and non-Muslims alike as an exposition of what the Prophet believed and practiced.

Great writing and amazing audio.
Wonderful book I love listening than reading this. It isn't so much the history of Muhammad but more the understanding of Muhammad's life and teachings and the theology and meanings that come from Muhammad's life, teachings and experience.

Brilliant refreshing compassionate
Excellent bio of our Prophet (SAW). It is a well thought out; sensitive and informative portrayal. I liked that it focused a lot on the interpersonal relationships our Prophet had as well as his relationships with family and loved ones. I havnt read many Bios but this is a great starter no doubt!

This book is simply written with love. Nothing but love. It takes you on a wonderful journey and it touches the heart and soul in ways many other books written about Prophet Muhammad do not. I have purchased it many times for many friends. Some as an introduction to Islam and others as a way to further learn about his life. I highly recommend it. It is, in my opinion, Tariq Ramadan's best work to date.

Amazing book! Well written for Muslim, Christian, Jew or any other religious or spiritual person. Gives just enough details and teaches lesson we can put into action right now in our current day and age. This book makes the Prophet Muhammad accessible and personal. You cannot help but come with more love and at the very least admiration for him and his struggle.

I picked up this book looking for a biography that would highlight the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) spiritual teachings. What I found was a devotional and reflective portrait, written in accessible language but sometimes meandering in style. Rather than presenting an academic or comprehensive account, the book offers a thematic “spiritual biography” that emphasizes qualities such as love, humility, kindness, and above all, empathy. The passages on empathy particularly stood out to me, underscoring respect for others as a guiding principle in human affairs. However, the book does not provide intellectual or analytical depth, nor does it engage with the Prophet’s political or leadership qualities in any detail. Readers familiar with Martin Lings’ *Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources* will find this book far less comprehensive, though easier to read. For me, its main value was in reinforcing the idea that respect must be shown to all, even while remaining true to one’s own principles. I would recommend it as a gentle, spiritually uplifting introduction for both Muslims and non-Muslims, but not as an essential read for those who already have deeper studies under their belt.
