Edit: 8 months later. Husband and I are both side sleeps with a little back thrown in. Mattress is still doing very well. We rotate it every month . we recently had a water pipe bust right under it and I was worried about possible mold due to other comments but it didn't. It sleeps better when it's warmer (harder when its cold) we added a 4 inch mattress topper and its helped a bit. My back feels better than it did with the old mattress. For 200 bucks its absolutely worth it. Even with my 250lb 6"7 husband and after 8 months of sleeping on it every night there's no indentation which is really cool. If I can't afford a 1000$ mattress after this wears out then i'll definitely get another just like this. Also we added a piece of plywood between the box spring (from older bed) and the Zinus mattress. I think it helps keep it flat (they have bases for that though but we are cutting corners here atm) Run through: Mattress brand: Zinus memory foam green tea. Size: Queen 10 inch. I've only had it a couple hours so far and it's 9.5 out of 10 inches at its highest and 8 inches out of 10 inches at its lowest. - Bad smell/ chemical smell , bad mildew smell. I smelled it immediately and didn't get a single whiff of anything good or bad. So no smell at all. - Black mold on mattress : Nothing yet but I'll be getting a protector for it asap. (I'll update my reviews in a month+ and year+) Just received the Zinus green tea 10 inch queen mattress today. I got the 10 inch because we can't afford the 12 though with a 6"7 250lbs husband I needed the 12 inch but I can get a topper later . I have to say I was very very nervous about getting this mattress. Money is a huge issue atm but I HAD to do something. Our older mattress is awful. After 2 months of saving and reading multiple reviews from multiple sites ( sleeplikethedead.com sold me on this particular mattress actually) I went for it even though some of the reviews on Amazon had me worried with the bad smells and mildew and mold and not rising past 7 inches so on and so on. Within 20 min of opening it had expanded to 9 inches in most the areas. It sounded starved for air lol sucking it in. Now 2 hours later it's 9.5 inches at its highest and 8 inches at its lowest. Also, we laid ours on top of our box spring with plywood underneath the new mattress as many have suggested to do. There's no smell at all (unless I got the Rona again! Ha!) I laid on it for a good 20 min to test and my hips and ribs (that usually hurt by that point on my other mattress) didn't hurt at all..school just started here and with covid 19 I'm stressed as hell so bad mattress + stress of that I'm a bit tired..I almost fell asleep and that's rare for me. It takes me a long time to get comfortable and fall asleep...It really is very comfortable.( I'm 4"11 and 140+ lbs) So . so far so good. I'll update my thoughts and my 6"7 husband's thoughts as well a couple times during the next month or so and again after a year or so. I know mattress buying isn't cheap and reviews well they suck anymore..hard to know what to believe and so few even mention what they bought and what size ppl are sleeping on it. **Update at a month**.. Every year My back aches when the weather changes. This year was no exception but it's been far far less painful than it was these past few years with old mattress . We will rotate it this week and I'm still deciding if I want a plush topper. At first I KNEW I did but now that it's broke in I can't decide. It feels fine though still a little hard for my taste . I'll probably get topper. Just for my side sleeping style . shoulders and hips do better with a layer of fluff. I'm so happy I chose this mattress and that we didn't get a bad one which happens apparently. Still no smell what so ever and no mold and I'd notice. I'm very sensitive to smells.

Unboxed it and it expanded fine overnight with only a mild foam smell that went away pretty quick. It has a medium-firm feel that's supportive enough that you don’t sink too deep, but still contours a bit for pressure relief. Works well for back and side sleeping if you’re not a heavier person. Motion isolation is good, so you don’t feel every toss and turn. Edges are soft though, so sitting or sleeping right on the side isn’t great. It can sleep a little warm like most all-foam beds. For the price it’s hard to beat for a guest room, first apartment, or temporary setup. Not a forever mattress, but comfortable and no major complaints so far.

So, my new mattress just arrived 10 minutes ago. I plan on updating this review from time to time to let shoppers know what it's like in the long term. First, I want to talk about the price and shipping. This twin 10" was only $150 when I bought it and from what I could see while shopping around, this was a very good price. Also, it arrived in 2 days, as expected (go Prime!) I read a lot of reviews that talk about a bad or moldy smell. I'm sitting 2 feet away right now and smell nothing. When I put my face in it, I get a light new car like smell, but it isn't bad. Definitely not moldy. Watching it decompress was pretty cool. It took maybe 60 seconds and it is already at about 9.5-9.75" I'm not sure if I should expect it to get any higher, but I read it can take a few hours to get to a full 10". Even if it didnt get any higher, it wouldn't be a big deal to me, but I'm sure it will if it is supposed to. I will update later if it does. It is maybe a quarter inch higher in some spots than others but it is barely noticeable. I saw some pictures where it looked really bad and the corners were messed up, but that is not the case with mine. It is very soft while also having a firmness to it. I got the 10" because I am a side sleeper and I read that the thicker the mattress, the softer it will be. When I sleep on my side on my old innerspring mattress, the springs dig into my hips and ribs. This is not the case with this new mattress. I also occasionally sleep on my back and that is comfortable, too. I spent many hours over several days picking out the right mattress for myself and I am really glad with this choice. Like I said, I will update this review over time but right now I am really glad I bought this mattress. Edit: Wanted to add, as you can see from my pics, my dog LOVES the new mattress. Edit for 1 year Update: So, I'm writing this on 10/12/2019. I was surprised to see that I had had this mattress for over a year and I wanted to just write a short update on how it is doing. It definitely does not feel like I have had this mattress for over a year. It is still very comfortable and supportive. I have not noticed any dips or anything like that. Whenever I change the sheets, it still looks brand new. I do rotate it a couple times per year so I'm not sure how much that has helped. I also bought a 2nd one of these mattresses for my younger sister and she loves it too. So yeah, overall, I have no regrets on buying this mattress and I think it will probably last me at the very least another year or 2 but could probably last even 5 or 10 more years.

Wow, Just wow. This Mattress certainly punches well above the price point. I got this for a Spare room and laid on it after 24 hours of letting it puff back up. It's super comfy! Just the right amount of "sink-in" and still very supportive. I did not notice any smell coming from it that was bothersome. There is a slight aroma once you cut the bag open but, for me it seems to dissipate quickly. I honestly was not read for or expecting much due to the low cost but, I was flat wrong. I regret spending so much more on my own mattress now. When I need to replace mine, a Zinus is top of the list so long as they change nothing that "breaks' it

I purchased this mattress on July 23rd and received it on July 26th so I've been sleeping on it for 2 months. I researched mattresses for several months before I purchased this one. During my research I discovered that memory foam mattresses should be purchased according to your weight. If you purchase a memory foam mattress that's too thick for your size it would be like laying on a brick. If you purchase a memory foam mattress that's not thick enough you will sink too far in and your mattress won't last. I'm a female, 5' 6" and 118 lbs. I fall into the "small person" category where the 10" memory foam mattress is recommended so that is the size I purchased, in king( I also purchased the Zinus 9" platform which is excellent). The mattress came rolled up in plastic and in a box. I opened it up and layed it out on my platform. It expanded rapidly and THERE WAS ZERO ODOR which I was amazed and so pleased with because odor was one of my main purchasing points! When I say ZERO ODOR I mean ZERO ODOR! My mattress expanded almost completely in 30 minutes but for a tiny wrinkle in the mattress cover fabric in the center but after 2 hours the fabric was tight and the mattress was PERFECT and a full 10" in height. The mattress cover fabric is A DREAM! Softer than I can describe, love it! It's has a soft floral texture and is ivory in color. At 118 lbs. I do not "sink" into this mattress but I can feel the slightest bit of give and when I move it expands back immediately. It's incredibly comfortable. I can't even describe what sleeping on memory foam feels like but if you're sleeping on an old-fashioned spring mattress you need to toss it and get yourself one of these because it's fabulous. As someone who lives strictly by the Primal lifestyle, this mattress fit all of my requirements; the EVERGREEN seal assuring the natural green tea extract to maintain product freshness, the BioFoam seal assuring natural plants oils have replaced some of the petroleum (NO VOC ODOR!), the ActivCharcoal seal assuring the all natural and CHEMICAL FREE charcoal will safely & efficiently keep odors and moisture at bay and of course the CertiPur-US seal assuring me that my mattress has been certified for durability, performance and content. Believe me when I tell you I am very, very picky about everything I purchase especially items that go in (my food) and/or on (my skincare) my body. If it's not organic I don't eat it or put it on my skin/hair. I did not want to be breathing in the poisons that are in the petroleum that goes into manufacturing memory but I realize that there really is no way to get around sleeping on a memory foam mattress without also sleeping on/with some amount of petroleum unless of course one could afford to spend $20,000. If I had that kind of extra cash to dish out for a 100% organic mattress I would have done so but that isn't the case. So after months of researching I decided on this Zinus mattress which, as far as being organic/healthier, was one of the best I found. Others costing 10x more are made with the same "ingredients." When I first started researching memory foam mattresses (this is my first) I thought I had to spend at least $2000 to get a good one. You DO NOT have to spend that much! Those high-priced, well known name brand mattresses are no better than wonderful, affordable mattresses like Zinus that are sold on the internet. Don't pay for brick & mortar name brands that up their prices so you, the consumer, pays for their advertising and their rent. Purchase on the internet for a fraction of the cost for the same quality (if not better!) Trust me, I did the homework! Had this mattress been anything less than awesome it would have gone back and I would have dished out the $2000. I finally got around to taking some photos today after taking my sheets off to be laundered. My iPad doesn't have a flash so I tried to brighten the pics as much as possible. I hope you can see how perfect this mattress is. I will also be reviewing my "Zinus 9 inch High Profile Smart Box Spring/Mattress Foundation/Strong Steel structure/Easy assembly required, King" which is awesome and works perfectly with this mattress and my king canopy bed. Thank you Zinus for putting out such a wonderful, quality, healthy product at a reasonable price us regular every day folks can afford! I couldn't be more pleased!

My new mattress in a box has arrived! I chose to have it packed in the small box which is actually about 3 " long and about 1" across. It's packed in so tight that it's hilarious and heavy! But once we opened the plastic and let it inflate, it was all of the size of a regular mattress. The firmness is a bit too hard for my hips and shoulders and spine, so I put a soft mattress topper on top and I am sleeping like a baby...not the fussy, crying baby! The sound asleep don't move until morning, wake up with a big smile baby! The edges are firm so it doesn't squish down when you sit on the side of the bed. Remember when you get your, DO NOT USE A KNIFE to open the plastic so you don't cut through to the mattress. The way that it's wrapped is double plastic so it comes off easily as you roll out the mattress. I suggest putting it on your base or box spring BEFORE you take off the plastic so that you don't have to move the mattress itself and it will already be in the place you want it when it fluffs up. One thing I love is that it's very stable. My cat can jump on the bed and it doesn't even shake or move the bed at all. I highly recommend getting this mattress, for the comfort, the way that Amazon can deliver it to you so quickly and for the Amazon return if it doesn't work for you. I checked furniture stores to make a comparison first, and most local-ish stores could not get me a mattress delivered within 2 weeks! I had changed out my old king sized bed for a smaller easier to manage full size and needed this right away. Amazon and their employees are amazing, I had it within a couple days. Thank you.

**See bottom for 1 year update Initial quality review (I will post another follow up after using the mattress for 6 months or so) - We began looking for a new queen sized mattress after our 2.5 year old coil spring pillow top mattress began to sag despite turning the mattress every two weeks. The pillow top was a budget mattress, probably around $500 at the local furniture store, box spring included. I have gone the coil spring route in the past, spending over $1200 on my first pillow top mattress. Every single time, the coil spring mattresses seemed to sag after no more than 3 years, often times showing signs of sagging within the first year. Unless there is a substantial sag (usually around 3" IIRC), their warranties don't cover replacement. So, you're stuck with a bed that sucks you into a hole even though it's well within the manufacturer's warranty sag-allowance. (Sleeping 2 adults, around 180-200 lbs each) I had purchased one of the original TempurPedic mattresses years ago and liked it very much except I got WAY too hot sleeping in it. That bed was "lost in the fire" (divorce). I saw an ad for the Cocoon mattress in a box made by Sealy for I think around $500. I was super interested and decided to read many, many reviews and research all of the comparable mattresses on Amazon. I can't stress enough how many reviews we read before deciding on the Zinus, so needless to say we made our decision to purchase this unit largely upon that research. Unboxing - the mattress arrived on time, on a very cold and snowy day, probably about 20F. I was a bit concerned about ordering during winter fearing it may somehow impact the decompression of the mattress. The box had a few dings in it that revealed the bag inside, but there was no damage to the product as it is packed in a very sturdy vinyl-type exterior bag. I immediately dragged the heavy box down the hall and into a room I had heated to around 75F to acclimate the mattress to room temperature while I read the printed instructions. I think that may have been overthinking the whole logistics of the decompression, as the manual suggested it should be unwrapped as soon as possible after receiving it. Per the instructions, I removed both the vinyl bag and unrolled the mattress zipper facing down and cut the bag off. The mattress began to expand, and within a couple of hours appeared to be nearly fully decompressed, with the exception of maybe a couple of corners. There was very little odor, and it is almost not worth mentioning unless you've never used a foam topper or mattress before. Not bad at all, and was gone within a few hours. I waited until the next night, put the mattress on our existing box spring (I did add 2 1/8in 4x8 backer board to the top of the box spring because the cross members were pretty far apart) and had a great night's sleep. These mattresses are firm, as many "memory foam" mattresses are designed to be. They contour to your body but provide really solid support. If you're expecting to get a floaty cloudlike feeling from a memory foam mattress, you're really better off with a coil spring with a memory foam topper. In either case, fluffy mattresses tend to sag after a short while and they're just not my thing. After a week of sleeping on the mattress, we are very happy with it. It is firm but comfy, doesn't transfer motion and seems to be well made. It does run a little warmer than a coil spring, but I'm always hot and this mattress doesn't cause me to sweat. The printed materials that came with the mattress are of good quality, and written in real english. For a Chinese made mattress at around $250, this was more than a bargain. Don't hesitate to buy this mattress. I will update again in 6 months or so. **1 year update - This mattress still looks and feels brand new. Every time we rotate the mattress when we change the sheets I can't believe how perfectly flat it is. Best mattress I've owned.

TL:DR I don't recommend this bed unless you're looking for something that will last about a year. After that it will likely result in pain from poor sleep position and lack of support. For the price, it's ok-ish, but don't expect it to last very long. Initially it was fantastic and provided for an excellent night's sleep. However, after almost 17 months (purchased May of 2025) it is entirely too soft to even sit on (I'm taking a shot at another brand and hopefully it will last a little longer). This began after 4 months of use, which I figured was an appropriate time to rotate the mattress to maintain its longevity. This quickly turned into requiring rotating every 2 months, and finally once a month, to the point where it is no longer doing what it was intended to do. The primary issue is pain from the mattress sinking in at my chest and causing my neck to not remain at a neutral angle. This has caused severe pain in my shoulders and neck, which is made worse by the fact that I have multiple injuries from combat service in Iraq and Afghanistan. The same issue has occurred with my teenagers 8" Full sized mattress from the same brand. While others have mentioned it being a great mattress, I don't expect anyone to come back and update their reviews. I'm only leaving this for others that are looking for something long term. I'm not even going to bother with the "warranty" because we all know how that works in today's world. For me, I'll just cut my losses and go elsewhere.

I’ve been using this mattress since 2019, and it has been amazing. The foam has stayed firm and supportive over the years without losing its shape. I was so happy with the quality and comfort that I ended up ordering two more mattresses. Highly recommend!

Why spend thousands on a bed? This mattress is super comfy...it's in between firm and a bit softer. Perfect for my back and neck.

Took around 72 hours to fully get to its size. Have been using it for over a month now and truly love it! Have had no back problems, no trouble sleeping. If you are looking for a reasonable price for a mattress, this is for sure a win!
