These knives are brilliant. As an ex-chef, the sharpness and feel of these knives are so good. They sharpen up so well on a butchers steel. Some much better than stainless steel that lose their sharpness so quickly, compared to these carbon stainless ones. I've had these now for over a month and really happy with them.

I have been looking for a really good knife set that would fit in with my kitchen's colour scheme. So, after some research, this set of knives seemed perfect and with the discount, fit into my budget. Firstly, I bought the grey variety and was looking forward to having these set up in my kitchen. I was especially interested to see what the "gift box" was, which is mentioned in the description. I had noted that the only reviews that mentioned the gift box were vine reviews, but was hopeful nonetheless. Sadly, when I had unpacked the knife set, there was no gift box. There were some labels, which had statements such as "You're the Best Dad", but that was the closest I got to anything "gift box" related. The knife block itself felt of a good quality and was quite heavy too. However, it was grey, which wasn't what is shown in the items description. I may have missed that, but it meant the block wasn't going to fit into my theme...the perfectionist that I am. Still, I was going to keep the set, but decided on returning this set, after seeing that the finger guard was broken and stained, along with one of the knives. It all took away from the premium feeling the company appear to go for. I decided to go with the silver set and return this grey set, in the hope that I would have better luck the second time. Thankfully, I did. There was no gift box, but also no labels this time. However, all the knives were exactly as described, along with the block. I am really impressed with the quality of the second set and they are very sharp. So, what started out quite disappointing did turn out great in the end. It is a hassle sometimes, when returning things, but Amazon do their best to make things easier in this area. I'd have given these knives a five star review, if the quality was the same, given the two purchases I made. My perfectionism is one thing, but when you buy something, you expect every aspect to be clean and able to be used. The second set is perfect for me and on it's own, I would give this set five-stars. I would recommend these knives, but just be cautious, because I think the gift box was only given to vine reviewers as an added incentive. It is also useful to know that, it appears no two purchases are of the same quality. If you get a good set first time round, you might not second time. I guess the quality can be a bit hit and miss, but I got lucky on the second purchase, which is hopefully what most people experience. This is a great set of knives and it has been worth the hassle of returning the first set.

Ich habe heute einen Messerblock geliefert bekommen, in dem ein Messer fehlt. Das mit der 7 inc. Klinge 5 inc. Griff. Mit der Größe gibt es bloß ein Messer. Wäre schön wenn ich das Messer nachgeliefert bekomme. Danke und Mit freundlichen Gruß D.Dietze
