Awesome! Zero smell!!!
I was skeptical that any composting toliet wouldnโt smell. But, wow! The Cuddy has NO ODOR at all. The Cuddy is so easy to use and to empty, far easier than our former cassette toliet, which smelled like a sewer ever since formaldehyde, as a component of toliet chemicals, was outlawed. Since we go to very hot places we decided to routinely add 4 Polident denture cleaning tablets to the urine bottle after each time we empty it. Doing so eliminates any slight odors. And, the tablets are cheap, $6.00 for 120 tablets. We also decided to buy another urine tank to extend the time in between urine dumps, in case we werenโt somewhere we wanted to dump the urine. Not a big investment but offers more peace of mind. The Cuddy is very solidly built. Its functional simplicity demonstrates a design which is clearly very well thought out. The customer support is amazing, calming my pre purchase anxiety by answering lots of questions about whether or not this toliet was too good to be true. The price is more than fair, especially when considering the other non bucket sophisticated toilet alternatives. Plus it has the smallest foot print of the composting toilets, a key need in our Sprinter van. Yet it doesnโt feel small when using it. We put it in a sliding drawer that fits underneath our bed. Cuddyโs coiled power cord makes it easy to use with our sliding drawer. This is one example of the thought put into the tolietโs design. The toliet hole through which one poops is huge, no chance for messy accidents. The gently tilted tray area that channels urine into its bottle is also large, both great functional design features. The fan uses extremely little power and is almost silent. We donโt see the need to vent it externally, since it doesnโt smell without doing so. The carbon filter is easily replenished, something that is needed very infrequently. The agitator is super easy to use and its placement in the front of the toliet is ideal for use in our sliding drawer. The toliet lid is designed in such a way as it could open flat to a wall behind the toilet, another key space saver. Getting out the urine canister couldnโt be easier. Emptying it is as simple as opening up the lid, pulling out the urine container and unscrewing a small lid. The poop container also just lifts out from the open lid, so much easier than other toilets. Itโs a great toliet and a great company. Iโd definitely buy it again.

Works great with a few modifications
It works good, but needs some handles on the side so you can pick it up . I modified mine with drain holes in the bottom, so I can rinse out with hose for cleaning and added handles on the side

Just what we needed; easy to use, NO SMELLS
This is the second Cuddy Iโve purchased. I installed the first in our garden office and loved it so much I decided to get one when we got our new RV! We found the Cuddy from the vanlife movement. It is only 24 lbs so easy for me to move, but that's not really necessary. It is small, but big enough to be comfortable. Unlike other composting toilets with agitators, Cuddy is easy to maintain. No picking it up to empty, no costly cassett. NO SMELLS! Cuddy has a sealed liquid container that is easy to lift in and out of the Cuddy. Just lift it out, then empty it in a regular toilet, or pour in an isolated area (which will kill weeds and deter unwanted animals.) I also like the addition of the LED for the pee bottle - no guessing when a scummy bottle is full and getting it wrong! The solids container is also super easy. We use sawdust, but others use coco coir, or bedding pellets. The agitator makes it really easy to mix without making a mess, and there's really no smell! We put the toilet paper into a seperate sealed container lined with a plastic veggiebag from the grocery store, and then into the garbage or compost pile. Separating toilet paper is common in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Caribbean islands we have visited, so it's not a big deal. We dispose the solids right into the regular garbage. The bin is easy to lift out, dispose into a garbage bag, then right into the garbage. It can also be recycled in a long-term composter. Everything is really well thought out - the size, the seat, access hinges, Carbon Filter, urine diverter. And, their customer service is great. I had questions about the solids materials and they got back to me right away. They also have cute YouTube videos showing the Cuddy out in the wild. Cuddy is just the best and I can't recommend it enough!

Works as stated
We have used this as a replacement in our camper. Nice that we donโt need to use the black tank. Two of us can go 2 days before having to dump the liquid. We use a spray bottle with vinegar after use to keep things clean and clear.

Great design, very hygienic to operate
This is perhaps my third composting toilet of various designs, and the most expensive one I've purchased. I avoided some of the other models due to price and complexity--but when I saw this one I felt compelled to try it out. I don't really have any complaints about it so far. The urine-diverting modesty cover works well enough and a quick spritz of vinegar takes care of any mishaps reasonably well. It seems sturdy enough and the sealed urine tank is a nice touch. I especially like how easy it is to remove the solids bin by just grabbing the handle. My only complaint is that you have to be careful to not overfill the solids bin with medium because the agitator's arms can sometimes push a little bit of medium out of the bin and into the interior (no big deal, just a minor annoyance). I have found wood ash to by the best medium for my purposes and thankfully the agitator in the solids bin works quite well. Overall I would recommend this unit for both its simplicity and features. As a British-designed device, I am a satisfied customer. My only hope is that replacement parts are either available for sale or made 3D-printable to ensure the longevity of this into the future.

Regret Buying Sadly
Update: After 2 ish Weeks of Use Very unhappy with this toilet. The fan does not vent outside the housing. Moisture collects under the urine and black tanks. The arms, when turning toss waste soaked coco core all around the inside making it a huge pain to clean. Iโve followed the instructions for set up and core ratio and also regular use and would not repurchase this toilet. I plan on cutting a hole into it to run some pvc pipe outside to better vent and see if that helps the moisture build up. Sadly wished I had spent 200 more dollars and gotten a Separette. I think this toilet is more suitable for part time use or temporary use. I bought this for full time use in my tiny house and it just doesnโt meet my needs. The one positive is the urine sensor is good and I donโt have to guess about fullness. I like the easy of the toilet and features of urine separation. Low foot print. But the set up instructions are incredibly vague and also the power supply they sent has no actual power supply on it but I am expected to wire it to something? My understanding was this fan would plug into the wall. Iโm pretty annoyed with that considering the price but am stuck with it now.

I dont think i could ever go camping again without this lol. there is no smell what so ever and it cleans easily. i just give it a nice spray down with vinegar water after each use and then give it a nice cleaning once we are home from camping.

Moisture Factory, wtf
Where is the moisture supposed to go? I was going to buy a Nature's Head, as I had one previously in a cottage. I unfortunately saw this toilet, and decided after some research to buy it and save $400 over the nature's head. Dumb. I'm 2 weeks in (single user, live in a camper), and my verdict is that it's a good idea, just poorly executed. It has a fan inside, that blows air through a charcoal filter. It doesn't change the air, or exhaust it, or remove any moisture from it. You have a bucket of organics that you keep pooping in, and that moisture can't go anywhere. 2 weeks in and I have to dump my solids bucket because it looks like gravy. My home stinks like coconut coir and mildew. I imagine I'm stuck with it, because I've literally been pooping in it, but now I have to modify a $1000 product to perform as it claims. Going to put in a fan and a hose to route the air outside, like a Nature's Head does, which I wish I would have bought. Live and learn.

Excellent
I've had the cuddy for quite a while now. 1. It doesn't smell at all. 2. It's expensive but well worth the money. 3. Looks and feels like a normal toilet and can be vented outside but not crucial. 4. The toilet bags I use are Bivvy loo biodegradable 100% again I would highly recommend these bags. 5. The size is great and very easy to empty and clean, I would use boiling hot water in the pee side of things at least once a week or crystals start to form. 6. It has never leaked but you may get a bit of condensation at the bottom nothing a piece of kitchen roll can't sort out. 7. It is very light and can be used not just in a camper but small van and even a training toilet for little ones. Overall an excellent product well thought out, I personally didn't think it was worth the expense for the model above. I did a lot of research prior to buying and I'm so glad I made the extra investment for this loo. Also you can sprinkle compost at the bottom of the bag, speeds up the process of breaking down the solid waste...well that's enough crap talk from me

Comfy, compact, doesn't smell... Like actually doesn't!
Got this for my van to replace a nature's head one which was a bit clunky and took up a lot of space. I was hoping that the cuddy would be a more subtle feature.... I've had it for just over a month and it's had fair use and I'm impressed. It doesn't smell... It just doesn't smell! I read some reviews which mentioned its better to vent it, which I did and it was a super easy process. With the vent there is no condensation build up from your dirty business, which sounds grim and probably is. Tucks away neatly, under a sofa unit in my van so no one really knows its there. The makers have a lot of how to video content to follow on their site, which made it an easier purchase as I could answer a lot of questions I had from those. Would definitely recommend ๐

Easy Set Up
Fairly impressed with this unit. It should come with the 9 V battery though which is needed for the LED Indicator light for urine. Or it should come with the proper plug for the internal fan. It's sometimes hard to find the DC battery end and for almost $1000 it really should be included.
