Are this good construction boots?

If you can get these with steel toes, then yes. Otherwise, these boots are great work boots. Very comfy. I will state, though, that the site strings are not very good. One broke on me already and had to buy some better quality strings.

I'd recommend Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP Leather Conditioner. 6,500 reviews, 4.8 rating overall. Will protect and waterproof the leather, but of course it doesn't completely seal all seams. Obenauf's has no petroleum-based ingredients. I used Sno-Seal for years on my old winter snow boots. When soles starting peeling off, shoemaker tried regluing them but said the Sno-Seal petroleum component helped cause the peeling and prevented regluing the soles. He recommended Obenauf's products. Obenauf's LP is also highly regarded in forums for Adirondack hikers. It was developed by a wilderness firefighter.

According to the videos the leather looks like that extremely cheap porous leather?

It lasted just fine though the conditions I use them for, but if your feet are submerged in water all day this probably isn't the best choice for you
