Buy Craft: How to Be a Modern Witch 1 by Herstik, Gabriela (ISBN: 9781785037559) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Such an uplifting, passionate read! - Let me start this review by saying that this book was an absolute pleasure to read. I lavished in every page - from the personal, intimate writing style to the fresh take on neo-pagan witchcraft, it had me hooked. Herstik’s writing style drips with encouragements of creativity in your craft, stresses on witchcraft as a form of self-love, and opens the reader to an out-of-the-box take of what a truly modern witch is like. I especially love that the book comes off as half teacher, half friend. The casual yet empowering approach of the subject at hand makes me *want* to practice my craft in a way that feels true and special to me. As for the technical stuff, Herstik covers most of the basics - from various methods of grounding, cleansing, charging and consecrating, to taking ritual baths, reading the tarot, incorporating astrology, herbs, crystals and the moon, into your craft, the book touches on many a subject and suffices as a good basic introduction to the craft. It even delves into topics such as creating your sacred space, designing your altar, and even dabbling in fashion magick, glamor, and much more. I would definitely recommend “Craft” for anyone looking for a truly magickal, inspiring perspective on witchcraft. It was a beautifully written, extremely influential read. For what it lacks in historical depth it makes up for in refreshing, innovative outlook on different, exciting ways to approach your craft, and automatically building a deeper and more intimate connection with yourself by doing that. If you’re looking for a deep, complex introduction into the history of witchcraft, this is not for you. But if you’re looking for, literally, a guide on how to be a modern witch in this fast-paced world, and weaving magick into the mundane fabric of everyday life, then I would definitely recommend this book to any practitioner. Review: Absolute must have - This is an absolutely fantastic book. I’ve read hundreds of books on both the craft and Wicca and this book truly touches on everything you really need to know to delve deep into witchcraft. I love the authors modern writing approach and I thoroughly recommend any aspiring witch to read this. It’s really refreshing that this book isn’t written from a Wiccan perspective. Right from the get go you absorbs a huge amount of information. Honestly can’t recommend it highly enough.

One stop Magickal “catch-all” Witchcraft resource.
As a lifelong hereditary & eclectic Witch my requirements for a Magickal text are top notch. In writing ‘Craft’ Ms Herstik has absolutely hit the nail on the head. Not only is it a beautiful hardbound book (if you ordered the UK version), it’s laid out as an easy to use guide. There are moon charts, crystal lists, rituals and Tarot reading lessons among other juicy uses. We also get to know the author and her Witchery too. Which makes this Witch book warm, useful and a must have for ALL MAGICKAL libraries.

Loved it.
A wonderfully written modernized guide for any witch, whether it be a beginner or someone well practiced. This book is worded and organized perfectly in a way that keeps it easy to stay attentive. It's extremely helpful and encouraging for witches young and old. It covers everything whether it be a well worded and informative gist to actual culture and in depth guide and knowledge. I highly recommend this read as it's extremely resourceful and strongly pushes you to follow your own path without regret! As an eclectic witch myself- I appreciated this read.

Great beginners guide
Really comprehensive guide for beginners, resonates more than say 'To Ride A Silver Broomstick' as far more contemporary. That being said, not loads here from more experienced witch types.

Absolutely Incredible
This book is incredible for people just starting to get to know the craft and even those with experience since it covers practically everything a witch needs to know without boring the reader with dull lexis and instead is thought provoking and easy to understand. I would recommend this book for any starting witch who feels daunted by the sheer number of books on witchcraft out there.

Great for Beginners
I've only recently started getting into witchcraft, and this was an excellent beginner's guide - exactly what I was looking for. It serves as a great all-rounder with self-care, tarot and crystals included, and I connected with this book a lot. It's written very well and things are explained in detail.

A good book.
This is a good book for anyone starting out on this path or thinking about it. I found it very enlightening and now I want to read more! I purchased the kindle version as I'd get it straight away. I'm so pleased I did.

This book has same content as Inner Witch, so if you have Inner Witch or Vise Versa you don't need to order one or the other. Content is very good info for starting or refreshing path.

I love this book. It contains many informations about the basics of witchraft and very useful instructions. It touches every topic, that I, as a beginner, am interested in. Furthermore the style of writing makes you feel welcomed and supports you to take the first steps into witchcraft. Note: The described witchcraft is influenced by Wicca, e.g. with the wheel of the year and ceremonial approaches. However, I found that to be quite helpful to actively make room for the craft in my life and to honor the process.

Ce livre, bien qu'écris en anglais (je m'adresse à vous, futur acheteur francophone) est absolument génial, je le recommande à tout débutant sur le sujet (et si vous comprenez l'anglais, évidemment).

I love this book! It is a great introduction to lots of witchy topics. Also great for referencing: I found myself going back to it many times - it stays next to my altar now. I love the self-care rituals and all the tables for references. You go, Gaby! :)
