Review for the 11.5" Large Digital Clock with Loud Voice Talking Date and Time, Calendar Clock for Dementia, Auto DST, 20 Custom Reminders, Adjustable Brightness, Loud Alarms, Memory Battery, with Remote This is my second purchase of this clock: one was for my mom, and the other for an elderly family member who saw it and wanted the same model for his birthday. This clock is an excellent choice for people with limited abilities or those who are bedridden. While we are not using all of the possible settings, some of them are truly outstanding. Pros: Several layout options for the screen, with different background and font colors. Bright, oversized display with adjustable brightness. Note: Day and night brightness adjust automatically based on the time you set, so you won’t be woken up by bright light at night. Option to display military time or AM/PM, which is helpful for people accustomed to European time format. At the same time, a sun or moon icon provides a clear hint for those who use the American setting. The month is spelled out in full, so there is no confusion between dates such as 9/6 or 6/9. Remote control makes setup and adjustments simple. Powered by an electrical cord, so there’s no need to worry about frequent battery changes, which can be difficult for older users. Cons: None so far. Overall Impression: This clock is thoughtfully designed for seniors or anyone who needs clear reminders throughout the day. With its large display, multiple settings, and easy remote, it provides both peace of mind and convenience. Highly recommended.

This is a great clock with lots of variations you can choose from. Mine lasted three years until a sudden jolt of electricity flipped my circuit breakers, and caused a city wide power outage for two hours. When power was restored, the clock did not light up. I will probably buy another one to replace it, because it is so functional.

Pretty nice - you can change the display color and the voice announcement is easy to understand although it's delivered quite slowly which is probably best for older people or those hard of hearing. I am curious to know if there's an internal battery that will remember all settings when/if unplugged.

To answer questions that some have had that may or may not be explained in product description or by the Rufus question box: Unit uses stand that merely screws in, that makes the clock approx 5 in deep so shelf needs to be that deep*** Battery for remote is provided and is CR2025 available most everywhere and is replaceable ***Power cord is approx 5 ft long ***Unit does not automatically talk but will recite screen only if you press the OK button on remote ***Daylight savings changes automatically by setting country but can be turned off if you live in state that doesn't use it ***can change day and night brightness and the time it changes which also changes day description for example from predawn to morning. ***It came with time set and only a minute off. I wanted it to match my computer time so I left hour as it was, changed seconds to zero and waited for my computer to advance one minute, and moved the minute on clock to match and and exited. Now they both change time within one second. EDIT: IN THE 5 MONTHS I'VE HAD IT, THE DIFFERENCE ENDED UP BEING ABOUT 30 SECONDS. NOT AN ISSUE AND EASY TO ADJUST ! *** You can customize wake alarms for days you want to get up for work..for example set time for Mon-Fri or Mon-Wed-Fri or what days you want. If you want to get up at a certain time on other days then set any customized reminder to go off on those days or even use 'drink water' alarm and the time you want to wake.***Alarm volume is adjustable and so is duration and can be confirmed by hitting 'OK' on remote ***Arrived well packaged. Instruction book has clear instructions with a page dedicated to trouble shooting such as if remote not working, be sure tag is removed from remote so battery connects *** Remote is small, seems easy to lose so I attached a large, plastic clothes pin to the bottom edge of it to make it easier to locate...NOT the top as that would block transmission. Remote functions for me at about 8-10 feet away ***You can set the format of how info is shown on the screen and there are color options. ***Seniors with issues may need assistance to get to desired settings *** At this time, I am quite pleased with the item and I ordered a second one for another room hoping they don't die before I do...HA. Nice that the remote for the first one also works on the second one!!!!! When I unplugged and moved the first one and plugged back in....ALL SETTINGS remained, ***Price is decent compared to others with less functions/options and are without a remote.

I bought this for my in-laws and they have loved it for the last two years. Now I’m back to buy one for myself. So helpful when you work from home and forget what the date is often!!

Nice clock. I like the multi-displays that it offers. Easy to see and dims at night. Only gripe is that the remote only works if you are 2 ft away or I would've giving it 5 stars.

We bought this clock for a very senior (100+ year old) parent who was starting to have some time-of-day disorientation. Regular clocks didn't work, because he would see 5:00 and not know whether it was 5:00 in the morning or 5:00 at night. This clock reinforces the time with both text (e.g., "MORNING") and graphics (a picture of the sun). It spells everything out rather than using abbreviations that can be confusing for someone with mild dementia. The display is big and bright. We especially like the red-white-and-blue setting, because it's an attention grabber and makes it easy to locate the clock, which has helped reduce calls at 2:00 am. Programming is very simple with the included remote (BTW, another review complained that the instructions say to press the "Menu" button and there's no such button on the clock -- that's true, the menu button is on the remote, not the clock back). The clock keeps accurate time, and the battery keeps the time accurate during power outages, which is essential. The one feature I would change: If you set a reminder, it pops up on screen at the appropriate time, along with a message saying to use the remote to return to clock mode. It automatically returns to clock mode after a customizable interval, but the message sends our senior relative into a search for the remote. I wish the message said something like "The clock will reappear in 10 minutes". Bottom line: This clock has helped our senior relative maintain better day-night orientation, which has reduced calls to us in the wee hours of the morning. Worth every penny.

The item was exactly as pictured and described. I thought the 7 inch size would be too small, but we mounted it just above our large screen TV in our living room. It fits perfectly and is NOT too small. My wife and I have both been retired for many years now, and when you aren't working with a job to go to, we kind of lose track of what day it is. This is a GREAT reminder of what day it is. It is small and unobtrusive. We love this and highly recommend it.
